What do think about the Metro school board's latest vote to reject Great Hearts' charter proposal, seemingly doing so in defiance of the state?

Nemo.......I keep trying to educate you on things that are different from your
life. If you will read my post you will see that West Palm Beach & Palm Beach are two different cities. There very well could be a 1000 Dairy Dips and Dairy Queens in West Palm Beach. There are no Dairy Dips in Palm Beach.

Palm Beach is a bastion of good taste. (They love a Dairy Dip) But they do not want to buy one in Palm Beach. Palm Beach is all about beauty and splendor as well as being the winter home of those that enjoy their own company and the company of those that share their interest,

If one wants a Dairy Dip one must go across the bridge into another city and buy the cone of their choice.

Think San Francisco and Oakland Think Minneapolis and St.Paul As a matter of fact just try to think and read at the same time.

They have different ordances and different mayors and in your particular case a different type of resident. West Palm Beach has some squalor and some very nice homes as well as midddle class neighborhoods. Palm Beach has a monied and regal existence. They even print their newspaper on what we refer as shiny sheets so that the ink will not come off on your hand or white glove.

Just as Palm Beach is another city and not comprehensible to you as being different from West Palm Beach. so are the residents and people.

Raspy - Your saga about Dairy Dips or Dairy Queens is a BUST. You can't even get your stories straight. There may be bigger & more expensive houses in Palm Beach, but it is basically the same as West Palm Beach. Get a life, get some knowledge of your pretend subject or go have a Dairy Dip.

BFRA....My good sir, nothing could be further from the truth than Palm Beach being basically the same as West Palm Beach.

Rasputin, you must come from the same defected gene pool as yogi. This site give you the address and a map, plus phone number.

BFRA....My good sir, nothing could be further from the truth than Palm Beach being basically the same as West Palm Beach.
I am not a good sir! In your mind of fantasy, maybe not. Having been in both locations on several occasions & with friends & relatives living in both, I very much differ with you as would most of the people in both locations.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 11:09

There he goes again trying to own someone else and calling bfra a sir. What a dumb-ass.

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 11:10

Raspy -There is one big difference, Palm Beach is closer to the ocean! :-)

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 11:13

Your computer time is about to run out at the Library my good dummy, Rasputin. Now be a good boy and let some other homeless person have a turn at the tax payers computters

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 11:15

There is another difference bfra, Rasputin has never been there. LOL

D7 wrote, "They have nothing to offer America. Nothing."

If the "they" in that allegation refers to the Arabs, we should never forget that they gave the world the Arabic numerals and most importantly, that included the zero...that is far from nothing....advanced mathematics was known to the Arabs back when Europeans were barely advanced to the point of being able to count on their fingers.....cumbersome Roman numerals was about as far as the Europeans got on their own.

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 11:31

Nemo - He sure doesn't sound like he knows anything about Palm Beach, West Palm Beach or any of the surrounding beaches.

By: gdiafante on 9/12/12 at 11:35

Darge loses me when he goes on his anti-Muslim rants...sounds like sour grapes to me. I believe that organized religion...any religion...is BS, but to say that they offer nothing is absurd.

It sounds like someone from the days of old describing African-Americans...we don't need that crap.

By: BigPapa on 9/12/12 at 11:37

"unions defying a liberal Democratic Mayor - that's different, isn't it?" Not quite the vitriol of the Wisconsin situation, but I digress..

Rham is Obam's right hand man.. his chosen successor in the big city. The Pres is also the head of the dem party and the NEA is part and parcel of the dem party.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 11:42

The problem with the Muslims is that they too were steamrolled by faith-based mass hysteria and conversion at sword-point. Their original spirituality and beliefs were stripped away and replaced by Islam...often with great violence and horror.

This is also what happened in Europe, when Christianity spread like rampaging bulldozers on a mission from God, bulldozing everything that the folks had previously believed and cherished....Heretical Judaism was the replacement creed...they called it, "Christianity".

Christians have had 2,000 years to cool off and regain their senses.....the Muslims are still hot for Mohammad, just like Christians were hot for Jesus in the 14th century.....faith-related mass hysteria, like Judaism, Christianity and Islam take hundreds, perhaps thousands of years to completely subside in their virulence, if ever.

Judaism has been around for over 4,000 years and still it's believers are hot for Jehovah, Abraham, Moses and David....one can see the results of weaponized faith-based mass hysteria in the Middle East today .....same old time-honored madness, but now, the Judeo nuts have a nuclear arsenal and the best in delivery systems....and the Islamic nuts are suicidal mass murderers....and US Christians are thinking about electing a Mormon Bishop as Commander-In-Chief, primarily because he is an old buddy of the Israeli Prime Minister.....this is utter madness, IMO.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 11:47

Yeah, Papa, the spectacle of watching Democrats eating their own is quite entertaining....I hope the teachers hold out til past the election.....when America gets a load of that Teacher Union Boss Lady...and when they learn how well-paid those folks already are, well....you can guess how well that will go over with the rest of us....sympathy burn-out....Romney could exploit this and probably will.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 11:58

The Nazis claimed that the Jews had nothing to offer Germany.

The dumbshits could have had Einstein and his colleagues working for the Third Reich...by killing off their Jews the Germans lobotomized themselves....today, Muslims are being targeted as worthless human beings...and like the Nazi media, our major media are enabling the hysteria....only the media do it today with subtlety, innuendo and spin...in full digitized color and with sound.....they even sell ad space in the hate-based shows.

The Germans allowed themselves to be sucked into the hate.....Americans are doing the same today.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 12:14

A snippet from the source I mentioned earlier:

"By Wednesday, Sam Bacile was in hiding. He spoke to Associated Press from an undisclosed location, saying he had not expected such a furious reaction. He said: "I feel sorry for the embassy. I am mad." But Bacile still insisted that the movie would help Israel by exposing what he described as Islam's flaws to the world.

"My plan is to make a series of 200 hours," he said." End Snippet.)

Bacile is the Israeli-American Jewish real estate tycoon who produced the hate film....Bacile took a page out of the Nazi playbook...his denials as to what he had expected as a result of his hate film are not credible...this jackass and his accomplices, ought to be picked up by Homeland Security and questioned, IMO...he deliberately incited rioting and 2 Americans died as a direct result...that has to be against some law...free speech has its limits, this Zionist zealot, on a mission from Jehovah, exceeded the bounds of responsible free speech....his US citizenship ought to be canceled, IMO and the jerk should be on a no-fly list.

Ship this Zionist back to the spiritual hellhole called Israel....they think he's a hero....happy ending for everybody....except for the families of those who were killed.

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 12:31

Loner - this jackass and his accomplices, ought to be picked up by Homeland Security and questioned, IMO...he deliberately incited rioting and 2 Americans died as a direct result...that has to be against some law...free speech has its limits, this Zionist zealot, on a mission from Jehovah, exceeded the bounds of responsible free speech....his US citizenship ought to be canceled, IMO and the jerk should be on a no-fly list.
That is exactly what should happen, but it won't. Same that Bush/Cheney should be tried for War Crimes, but they won't. Why aren't these nuts held accountable for their actions?

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 12:37

Mr. Bacile, Pastor Jones and Morris Sadik, the anti-Islam Egyptian Coptic Christian who helped publicize the film, should, all be "detained", as they now say...persons of interest in a plot to incite murderous rioting.

You can't yell, "FIRE", in a theater...this is akin to that, IMO..

This film is Muslim-baiting...we do not tolerate Jew-baiting in this country...apparently we do tolerate Muslim-baiting....this film is Muslim-baiting on a grand scale...and Bacile wants to make more films...he is not at all repentant...none of his accomplices are repentant, they plan to cause more trouble.

Should we tolerate this in an open and free society?

What should society do, when hate mongers hijack the tools of mass communication?

Should Homeland Security or some other authority step in when some group or an individual deliberately instigate or incite rioting?

By: BigPapa on 9/12/12 at 12:41

Romney needs to seize the teacher union strike and like you said, dont go after the teachers, show their Union Leaders for what they are. Shake down artists.

He needs to show leadership and vision on the Lybia thing- whatever that may be. Time to step up to the plate.

Also, someone said Im wanting more of the same economically. Actually I think that the US economy can truck along quite well as long and the government stays out of it's way. This is where everyone in the world comes to make money- it's what we do.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 12:48

Bfra asked: "Why aren't these nuts held accountable for their actions?"

Good question.

As a society, we seem to tolerate hate in a film; but get our feathers ruffled, when there is human sexuality on display in a film.

There are all kinds of faith-based zealots out there policing the film industry, condemning the "porn"...but very few faith-based groups out there policing the film industry, condemning "hate"....maybe that's because most faiths are actually hate-based?

These three stooges for Abraham - the guys who produced and publicized the thing - all believe that they are doing God's work.....as I said before, we are a self-bullshitizing species.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 12:58

Papa, we agree on much...but deregulation, privatization, corporate welfare, tax cuts for the wealthy, trickle down and Reaganomics are what caused the Great Crash of '08....that and two exceedingly expensive elective Holy Wars, one of which is still active.

The government should not get out of the way...the government should protect and serve the interests of the general public....in order to do so, regulations and taxation are absolutely vital.

The New Deal is alive but threatened by hypocritical "intellectuals" who would prefer a return to the days of Charles Dickens. There's no going back to some perceived, "good old days"....IMHO, government should serve as a tide, to raise all boats.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 1:17

Back to the topic of the day the headline, "School board in denial" is not really accurate, IMO... "School board in defiance" would be more accurate.

For sensationalistic appeal, maybe: "Great Heart Attack at School Board"

Or maybe: "Heartbreak Hotel: Great Hearts Broken at School Board"

Perhaps: "Chums of Charters Chastized & Chafed".

It must be fun to write just headlines....like writing on the frosting of a cake....it's an art.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 1:32

Haslam's point man on their mission to advance Great Hearts & TFA, Educational Commissar, Kevin Huffman, must be huffin' & puffin'....rebuffed....plans snuffed....he's miffed and in a tiff....stiffed by the shift and the rift....Huffman muffed it.....sho' nuff.

Will Haslam find a new lackey, to replace the Huffer?

Rocket-propelled grenades were reported to have been fired from a farm next door to the consulate, and film clips on al-Jazeera show men roaming through the ornate gardens amid vehicles, vegetation and buildings in flames. Ambassador Stevens, who was on a short visit to Benghazi, is reported to have died from smoke inhalation, along with an American computer expert at the consulate, Sean Smith, and two security guards. (End Snippet)

The families of those who perished in the inferno of faith-based fury should be able to sue the producer and those who promoted the hate film for civil damages....the State Department should demand reparations to those families from the government of Libya...or take the money out of the US aid package.

We should remember, the mob that cornered Col Khadaffy sodomized him with a bayonet before shooting him...these are not nice folks when provoked....they have zeal.

I've ranted and raved enough for one day...I'm taking the big thumper out for a ride...later!

Going by your 12:42 post, saying the election of a Mormon Bishop (Mitt Romney) is a worse decision than electing a faithful Muslim is ignorance from the ground up.

What lies have you determined Romney has made. And you're saying Barry hasn't told any lies? Gimme a break, Loner. It looks like Obama doesn't know how to open his mouth without lying.

If he's such a truth teller, why was that book written about 69 lies he was caught in. And that was only about 2 years in office.

And I still haven't been shown, or referred to, anything that verifies his legal occupancy of our White House. Ya wanna know why? Because there ain't none..

By: yogiman on 9/12/12 at 2:16

You say Bush and Cheney should be tried for war crimes because of the Iraq war even though they had congressional approval.

Should Barack Obama also be tried on his attack of Libya WITHOUT congressional approval?

And by the way, Cheney had nothing to with getting that war started, only the President can ask Congress to take such action. A Vice-President swears to back the President up when any situation occurs and be prepared to take over if necessary.

That's right, they offer nothing to America.
They bleed us dry. Use our freedoms to dance around our laws and proclaim religious persecution.
Won't take off their scarfs for a DMV Driver License. Against their religion.
Want to pray on mats in Arabic facing Mecca 6x a day.
Won't receit the Pledge of Alliegence.
They like "In God We Trust" allright, love our money, but it's Al'lah, not the Biblical God America knows.
Don't accept the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution as the law of the land.
Want Shari'a Law to rule, superceding the US Constitution.
Don't accept Jesus Christ, rather some murderous thug called Mohammed as their savior and god.
And, if you speak out, they will cut off your hands and head in public.
After 9/11, not one Imam spoke out, not one Muslim march in any American city marched. They didn't assemble and decry what their "brothers" did to America. They all hid in their mosques praying to Al'lah.
Today, their brotherhood killed 4 Americans, including an Ambassador. Another senseless Islamic act of terror that always results in death.
Will they issue a statement condeming the act of murder? No.
Obama has, as has Hillary Clinton. What are they waiting for?
These people are wolves in sheep's clothing...that doesn't fit.

You mean Reagan's economy cause a depression a quarter of a century after he left office? What lousy economist pulled that stunt?

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 3:23

Loner - You left at a good time, other than d7's comment, the last few comments are just BS.

By: yogiman on 9/12/12 at 3:26

I'm sorry I'm not as smart as you think you are, bfra. But I'm sure glad I'm smarter than you really are.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 3:33

yogi, I'm sure you are a legend in your own mind. Don't spend that welfare check all at one time!

By: yogiman on 9/12/12 at 5:02

If you're such a spending expert how about telling me how you waste your money, B2.
