Break down the Senate immigration measure passed Thursday? What will happen with it in the House?
Back to the topic.....this is interesting:
Economic, demographic and social changes in Mexico are suppressing illegal immigration as much as the poor economy or legal crackdowns in the United States.
Another thing I find interesting.....people who say that immigrants take jobs away from Americans - do they fight as strongly to keep corporations from outsourcing jobs?
"Reagan passed an amnesty bill when he was in office and no "gloom and doom" happened."
The People's Republic of California happened... and those peoples can't get out of there fast enough these days.
Ben the Alarmist.
As usual, Ben doesn't even know what he is talking about. Rambles like yogi!
Welcome to the club, bfra. It's not unusual to not understand what you're trying to say. All you seem to be able to do is say [you're wrong. It sure would be nice if you could explain why we're wrong.
yogi - Can't explain anything to a brainless blob! You are a perfect example of that.
Guest worker? Si...
Shumer short-cut to Citizenship? No...
I think everyone's handled the illegal immigration question well.
Yogi: Why Latinos/ Mexicans are coming to America now more than in the 30's is for JOBS. The USA, Calif. especially has exploded with farming and crops and someone has to pick them. Americans won't do it, even for min. wage, 8-10 hrs. in the hot sun. Mexicans will for $4.00 an hour. In droves. Plus, Mexico City has 15 million people and no jobs
Also Americans won't wash dishes, bus tables, maid service, janitorial, etc.
Every Hotel I've been in, Gaylord, Marriott, Hyatt all the low level employees are Latino. Ever see a Caucasian woman vacuum, clean the toilet, dust, and make the bed?
They want the front desk, concierge, valet, bell captain, waiter jobs where there are tips.
I understand you bfra. yogi no.
People were coming from Mexico to do farm work for many years before you was born, dargent7. But they went home when the crop was harvested. They weren't getting welfare checks back then.
Many Mexicans that lived in the border towns worked in the USA and lived in Mexico. They came to work and went home... every day.
If the government had not started handing out our money to so many illegal aliens we may still be seeing that system. But whose going to refuse a handout?
You need to do a little history research, dargent7. What was our taxes when they were started. What was the government doing with it? Why has our taxes gotten so ridiculous? Where in the constitution does it tell congress to use our money as a handout to aliens? Where does it say they should use our money to support the world?
Damned if I can remember reading anything giving congress a reason that authority.
Your post asked why all the Mexicans are all of a sudden coming to America....
I told you why: Mexico's population has exploded, Calif's has too. Migrants are the only ones to do the farm work. They are cash basis and don't pay taxes or get foodstamps and welfare checks.
The Hyatt, Marriot, Westin, and Gaylord do not hire illegals.
America has the jobs no American will do.
Which group is the dumbest of the two: The ones on this site showing so much admiration of Barry Soetoro (or Barack Obama, whichever one he is), or the group of children in Senagal wearing T shirts with Barry's picture on it saying "Welcome Home Mr. President"?
Sorry, I hit the button too quick.
I certainly hope this immigration reform is voted down. Buried in the pages is a requirement for government approval for any hires by any company doing business in this country. Right to Work and Union no longer apply because if two federal agencies don't agree you can work, you can't work. Companies that need workers within a couple weeks or a month could be left wanting as the bureaucracy crawls it's way though hundreds of thousands requests for permission to work. So much for a wall going up. New employees won't be hired fast enough to begin work and those that were hired with a start date to be determined get tired of waiting and move on to other opportunities.
I know the wall is a prerequisite for any action on the immigrants. The worker ID program may be also.
It's literally a do nothing bill. It will ensure nothing gets done.
Oh, by the way. Both of these components were inserted in the bill by Republicans.
Could the elements of that bill be designed and written to give the government more control over the citizens?
I'll have to admit, I haven't read any more of it that the senators.
Hit that button again.
Brainless blobs have trouble putting 1 foot in front of the other, much less pressing keys on the keyboard. :-)
yogi Presidential prediction, explains a lot, bfra
By: yogiman on 10/14/12 at 10:39
I hate to tell you this, boys, but you're flushing you brain out through your a$$. Only 24 more days and you'll wonder; Just how damn stupid can I be?
Sorry I'm not as perfect as you think you are on this keyboard, bfra. How can you explain you never make an error? Are you really that perfect?
Post another LIE YOGI!
yogi, what about your predictions? Over 4 yrs. and not 1 has ever come true! Come on yogi, post another LIE.
OK, I love you, bfra... with a deep mental compassion.
You constantly call me a liar because you don't believe what I've posted about Barry Soetoro's constitutional eligibility of that office.
Tell me, have you ever read the Constitution? If you have, what was you interpretation of Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 5? What did our founders mean when they put that "natural born citizen" status in the requirements to become president of this nation?
Did they mean a man who's father was a British subject from Kenya would be welcome to become president of the USA; especially if his mother wasn't old enough to pass her American citizenship down to him if he was born in Kenya as he advertised for 16 years?
I'd sure like to know what I'm lying about. After all, I learned that information from the book "Dreams from My Father" written by the man named as Barack Hussein Obama as its author. Was that a different man who wrote that book knowingly lying in it and calling it an autobiography?
