Up for Debate: State Department accusations

Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 1:40am

Are you shocked by the alleged behavior by State Department employees reported in a memo or do you believe such activity is probably more prevalent than the public expects? Do you believe it's too easy for government officials and employees to get away with or cover up such activity?

Slippery Slope that Bush Started, gov. People like me warn you of this and now we just have to live with your folly.

I find it simply ironic that the people of the South (predominantly Southern Baptists), who are so up in arms about the idea of personal freedoms, are also the ones that spout such oppressive rhetoric about others who they find to be..... well..... icky.... or of a different faith or color.

d7 - IMO, good move! I love San Diego & everything around there. Will probably be there some time in the Fall. But, Florida still has the prettiest beaches!

Agreed, there were some of us on the left who warned of the potentials of this while the rest of you were running around having a "holy shit the sky is falling!!" moment. And did you take the time to listen or at the very least think of the ramifications???? Noooooooooo...........

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 11:38

San Diego as the best weather and a beautiful rocky coast.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 11:41

Someone posted yesterday that we did not know what all was in the Patriot Act when it first came out. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CLUE.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/12/13 at 11:43

Patriot Act should have never happened let alone be extended.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 11:47

Were are all of the "We the people" farts today? bud, yogi are sure silent. yogi must have his head stuck up somewhere. bud must be off work, so there is no need to waste her time.

Well, it's June...as in "June Gloom".
Arrived yesterday and in the 17 years I've been gone...a new Stadium is dead center in dwtn.
"PETCO"...and the Padres were at home.
Gaslamp Quarter is sparkling clean....bar/ restaurant on ever block/ corner. Weird names..."Tipsy Crow", "Fat Hippo", "Dicks", "Bubbas", "Mels", Joes".....
Smelling the ocean is quite worth it, alone.
My thing is Libraries and the dwtn branch is permanently closed(an outdated shit-hole, anyway)....building a new state of the art to open in Sept. 28th next to the Stadium.
Light Rail is great, as is the bus system.
San Jose' was all high tech and google/ Yahoo! heads.
And no ocean....sunrise and sunsets were blocked by Microsoft and Samsung buildings.

By: bfra on 6/12/13 at 12:04

San Diego's bus system is something Nashville could really use, but as long as King Karl is here, it wouldn't be "High Class" enough for him!

By: bfra on 6/12/13 at 12:18

d7 - What are the little open air buses called? Light rail or buses?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/12/13 at 12:42

brrrk, do you still have the link to Jug's profile site?

No, but if you go back in the City Voices archives it should still be there....

Why, you have someone in mind for our little Juggy? ;-)

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/12/13 at 1:07

Well, little Juggy is going off about Scouts being pedophiles in another thread and it was interesting that they guy on the profile page is a registered sex offender living in Clarksville.

The fact that budlight is working for the government gives evidence to my theory that the main reason governments were ever created, was to give stupid people a job.

Yogi, Blanket is smarter than anyone on the planet and tells us that daily.

Now if the old cow could remember this today, then she might recover some of her sanity.

Yeah, I'm so stupid I'm making money just to chat with people and I get paid for mileage and an hourly when I'm driving. That's stupid alright. And if the gov-ment gives stupid a job, how come obama is working for the gov-ment? After all, isn't the presidency a job? How stupid is he?

And when I said Blanket is smarter, I was quoting what she says about herself; you don't actually believe I think that? Oh gee, you're dumber than I thought you were.

D7 enjoy the beaches at San Diego. I know you're in heaven there cause you sound happier. I guess the San Francisco "environment" didn't suit you.

Man2Man, huh?

By: bfra on 6/12/13 at 2:05

Bud - Among your many LIES, Blanket has never posted anything claiming or pretending to be smarter! You are too stupid to even mention yourself in the same sentence as Obama. You are so green with envy & it sticks out in every comment you make. Sorry old girl, you are too far gone to catch up on smarts, get use to it.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 3:14

So bud drive all day chatting to people. With her personality she want be at it for long.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 3:18

The old cow is like yogi. You say one thing to her and with her limited understanding, she hears something entirely different.

By: bfra on 6/12/13 at 3:29

Yogi, bud & Raspy would run a close race as to which one could make the biggest & most LIES.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 3:37

Yes I can picture that, bfra. All will lie steal and cheat the government and take money from the people that need.

The good news is that bud job is temporary and simple. They would not hire an old hag for anything less. LOL

By: BenDover on 6/12/13 at 3:39

Blanket, IF it turns out this phone and internet data that was demanded by the NSA/FBI/CIA was leaked to the Obama political apparatus to use for mining votes would that outrage you? What if some of the preliminary mining was done by government personnel on government hardware? A thumb drive can hold a ton of data and they're no trail whatsoever.

Credit card data could quickly link me to conservative causes and save their vast canvassing operation a call to my house. A donation by someone to a gay/lesbian organization and a cross reference to the voter registration roles could find unregistered people sympathetic to that wedge and prime for the picking to recruit as a new volunteer or voter... just like any number of their other wedges that they emphasized last election, like birth control, and class warfare.

Which begs the question, why is the Obama administration so interested in all of this data to the tune of 1000% increases in report requests and acquisition; when they don't even follow up on hard intel that would have led them to the Boston Bombers?

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 3:45

You should of thought that Ben, when Patriot Act was being passed and I might add with your support.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 3:51

Ben has it occurred to you that if not for these measures that there may have been more “Boston’s” like act of terrorist?

By: govskeptic on 6/12/13 at 4:03

Let's use our great hindsight and remember this act was passed by an overwhelming
majority from both parties. No, they didn't know what was in it, just that it was
massive in size and scope. Like ObamaCare and the up coming Immigration
Bill, it will be a just pass it and then we will let you know what in it drip by drip.

By: yogiman on 6/12/13 at 4:22

You apparently didn't read what I posted yesterday, B2. Unlike you, I write to my representative, not one from Ohio representing those people.

But you might think he should "listen" to you, so write him and tell him how he should vote.

By: yogiman on 6/12/13 at 4:29

Since you've ignored it, or don't have an answer, I'll ask my question again, B2, in case you didn't understand it before: How did they find so much about Edward Snowden in such a short time (2 days) but haven't found Barry's legal name and birthplace in over 6 years? How can Barry keep such information a secret but Edward can't?

By: yogiman on 6/12/13 at 4:38

I'm sure glad isn't equal to you and your 'buddies', bfra. He wouldn't be the man he is.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 4:46

Stupid yogi

By: Captain Nemo on 6/12/13 at 4:48

If yogi was a brave man he would have ask Blanket ,before she left.

By: yogiman on 6/12/13 at 4:48

Sorry, dumba$$, I have more to do than keep track of your ignorant remarks until the evening. Then I only have to read a couple of your remarks and wonder: What in the hell was he saying?

By: yogiman on 6/12/13 at 4:57

Well, bfra, I hate to say it, but I'm afraid you've got us beat on lies. And you're way ahead of all of us combined on your BS sessions.

But then, you may actually think you're telling the truth through your ignorance.

By: budlight on 6/12/13 at 9:07

Ben and Gov, don't expect any answers to your questions. You are too logical for the illogicals on this site - ie, libtards. Yes, I will have the job until I don't want it any longer, thank you. My book "99 Jobs" will be out soon. It's a how to book on job hopping and other tidbits of life information. LOL

Have a nice evening Yogi. I'll be chatting it up with citizens and getting paid to do it again tomorrow. Yeah! for me! Fun Fun Fun.

By: BenDover on 6/12/13 at 10:36

Well... passing it with good intentions is one thing... and abusing it in the worst Chicago Way political machine machinations is another.

By: BenDover on 6/12/13 at 10:38

I think the absolute certitude that allows such Machiavellian conquest is the sign of a small mind not a large one.

Yeah it sounds like washington just passes bills when they are in a dope induced or alcoholic stuper; they don't read it. They assign their 22 year old interns to read it and then let them know how to vote, I'm sure.

So we find out drip by drip what they have forced on us. Rand Paul is now the biggest disappointment ever.
