The Tennessee State Fair is the subject of wrangling between Metro and the state. The newly appointed state board has told the Metro Fair Board that it must offer a lease to the state's appointed non-profit. The Metro board has asked for more money. Who's right?

The fair would be an advantage to both; the state and the city. Both should be glad to have it just for the money it will bring in.

Perhaps, I am being unfair, but when it come to operating the Tennessee State Fair, there is little in the way of fairness, or so it seems....as usual, money talks and BS walks...that's standard fare in one of the unfairest states in our fair land.
First, kill the fairgrounds.
Second, the guy who is alleging that Brennan is a Muslim is an ex-FBI agent that was banging the prosecution's star witness in a case and is a well-known anti-Islamist fear monger. So there's no wonder that yogi would be one of his little sheep. Baaaaaaaa...
As for the other story...now is that part of the draconian fiscal cliff cuts or a specific executive order, because that story seems to skirt the issue.

It's an on-going p!ssing match that goes back even further than the anti-gay bias ordinance that the state overturned and the whole charter school deal.
Metro and the state will remain at odds because it makes great political theater for both of their constituencies.
Muslim culture and the Islamic political movement is in direct contradiction to our Western values and liberties.
All the 'liberal' heads of state in Europe have said that unchecked multi-culturalism is a failed experiment and are dealing with an infringement on western culture via our own western ideal of democracy. The Muslims are immigrating in mass and are out-breeding the indigenous Europeans by about 4 to 1... and they are bringing their radical 7th century culture with them. In 2 or 3 generations the indigenous Europeans will be the minority in France with the rest of Western Europe not far behind; and they are already feeling the pains as all of those 'youth' riots are really 'Muslim youth' riots.
This is a planned measure by the Islamic political caliphate to overthrow the West and we ignore it at our peril.

I think that we assure the same immigration standards that were expected in generations past where immigrants were expected to adopt our culture and allegiance to our country.
And do we assure the same freedom of religion that our country was built upon?
I think, too, that guest worker and a path to citizenship for our friends to the south who are looking for a better life for themselves and their families is important to keeping with our western values culture in this country.
Adopting our culture does not mean becoming Christian. In fact, the Treaty of Tripoli clearly states that we are not a Christian nation.

Only about 5% of Muslims support violent jihad in their effort to advance Islam but over 70% support the imposition of Sharia Law on the population.
Fine, then you don't outlaw Muslims but if they violate the law they are prosecuted like everyone else. We don't allow polygomy although we allow Mormons to practice their beliefs.
So why the hysteria?
State fairs no longer work in urban settings. Too much crime. The folks with the money won't come out, and those that do come out, don't have any money. That's why the Wilson County and Williamson County Fairs are both very successful and why the State Fair in Nashville won't ever work again.
I said nothing about religion. I'm simply saying we deny immigration status to anyone who doesn't sincerely adopt our western values and we prosecute foreign nationals on our soil who attack our American culture and values as acts of rebellion and insurrection because that is what they are. If a Mosque advocates Sharia it is in conflict with our Constitution and western values and should be shut down.
If a Mosque advocates for its members to behave in certain ways and if the members are willing adults or children who are not physically harmed (as defined by our social and cultural norms) then have at it. More power to them.
