Barry Soetoro is the best actor and liar I believe I have ever seen on TV. And he hasn't changed in the last three years.

By: dargent7 on 1/25/12 at 5:18

I can't remember the last time I could even watch a president give the address.
I do recall GW Bush's last one in 2003 when he built the case for invading Iraq and name calling, "The Axis of Evil".
How the country survived 8 years of that jack-ass is beyond me.
Obama is charasmatic to the 10th power. I don't really care what he says.
He looks so damn good saying it.

By: dargent7 on 1/25/12 at 5:52

s/h/b: charismatic...rhymes with Vege-Matic.

By: Loner on 1/25/12 at 6:00

It's all BS....I watched documentaries on the Military Channel instead. President Obama has lost most of his credibility with me...a bitter disappointment....if he is unhorsed in November, I will not shed a tear...he had his opportunity and he blew it.

I'm ashamed to admit that I trusted the guy...a sleazy Chicago politician, who spent 743 million dollars to win the presidency....what did I expect...hope & change?

This joker will never fool me again...this guy will have us in a shooting war with Iran by November....he is simply a vassal to the Israeli PM.

With the Adelson's bankrolling Newt...ten million dollars in Super PAC donations so far....the continuity of Israeli control is guaranteed...regardless of who wins the "election". Why even get involved....the fix is in....Israel has more heavy lifting in mind for tired and tattered Uncle Sam.

By: Loner on 1/25/12 at 6:04

Felt electricity shooting down your leg, Darge? Try using a ground strap.

The man is a supreme bullshit artist...no doubt about that...best I've seen in years...he belongs on a stage...not in the White House, IMO. He's an entertainer....but I'm no longer entertained by his lack of character and courage.

By: dargent7 on 1/25/12 at 6:28

L'ner: Ok, for sake of argument, you want Romney or Gingrich in the W.H.?
Look at Romney's tax return (USA Today).
Wifey has $3. million in a blind trust in USB Bank in Switzerland. Mitt'y has millions in off-shore accounts, the Cayman Islands. How much do you have in off-shore accounts? I thought so.
Tax incentives, Capital Gains taxed at 14.6%, dividends, amortization, depreciation, write-offs.
Bet this guy can write his whole Presidential campaign OFF as a religious, tax exempt status.
Gingrich is on the hook for "strategic advice", aka, influence peddling,
Both stink to high Heaven.
At least Obama looks way cool when bullshitting. And he made his $400,000 a year the honest way. Not $43.million doing book tours, speaking engagements, and concerts.

Loner, you are my hero.

Obama (aka O'Drama) said that everything must be fair! LOLLOLLOL! My mother-in-law says that "life's a b........, and then you die". I think she hit the nail on the head. Listen up people, LIFE is LIFE and nothing is fair, except the weather -- every now and then. So get over it. IF LIFE were fair, no babies would be aborted, no dogs would get hit by cars (or cats), no one would have cancer, no one would be homely looking, no one would go bald, no one would get acne, no one would be chunky (aka fat), no one would . . . . . . - you fill in the blank. Life is not fair. If life were fair, O'drama would not be president. And Michelle would not be chunking around the world on our tax dollars while children are starving in America! She is a spend thrift to beat all spend thrifts -- $30,000 worth of bracelets! How distasteful!

By: gdiafante on 1/25/12 at 6:52

I can sum up all these posts easily...waaaaah.

Waaah that some people are more successful...waaah that my candidate didn't win...waaah that a politician fooled me...waaah

It's like walking into a daycare after telling three year-olds that recess is over.

That's my rant. Now you can return to your normal programming.

By: sarcasm on 1/25/12 at 7:01

I agree with President Obama. If the filthy rich were forced to pay more, my life would improve dramatically.

By: dargent7 on 1/25/12 at 7:02

"Success" isn't defined by most Americans as having "blind trusts", off shore bank accounts in the Cayman Islands, and making $43.millon in 2 freekin' years.
Romney calls his speaking engagements, "small amount of money" and he pulled in $375,000.
Chump change?
Both he and Gringrich are 100% out of touch with America.

sid-

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 7:09

Loner is sid' hero. Now doesn't that make you wonder if your thinking might be off a little. lol

By: dargent7 on 1/25/12 at 7:09

BTW: Dick(less) Cheney has stock in Halliburton in a "blind trust".
Was their CEO before becoming VP under fellow oil man, GW Bush..
Then, Halliburton gets no-bid contracts in Iraq during the 9 year invasion/ occupation..
A correlation? Naw.
Not to 50% of this country. That's why we're tanked.
It's not, "Whaa-whaa"...it's dumbed down absolute stupidity.

By: govskeptic on 1/25/12 at 7:10

Very good opening and closing. Nice shout out to the troops.
Everything in between was same old spoken with forked
tongue as to what the people want to hear, but his action
don't follow the rhetoric! Total campaign speech with a tone
of "like me" and pay no attention to the real economic conditions
of the country or lack of real leadership over the last 3 yrs.
In short, message that government just can't get too big no
matter the cost, give me 4 more yrs to grow it and like it!

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 7:10

I read somewhere that if Obama pulls his stunt off this year, there will be no election in 2016. The reason is a communist leader will be in office.

There must have been a lot of brain drain in this thinking, because if they think Obama is a Communist leader now, then there is no reason to have the election anyway, let alone 2016.

By: Rasputin72 on 1/25/12 at 7:45

I liked it when he left the stage and looked at the "type" people who were congratulating him. George Soros is going to be right again. There will rioting in the streets by Obama's people because they do not understand the way the "world" works. The United States is no longer the only player and the major player. The USA is just a player.

Welfare people graduating into $500,000 dollar a year jobs will not work. All men are not created equal.

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 7:50

Loner,

I'm glad 'hear' you say Barry fooled you in 2008. He apparently fooled a lot of others then. But he didn't fool me. May I offer you and your fellow posters on this site my old felicity; fool me once, your fault. Fool me twice, my fault, and its rarely my fault.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 7:55

No one fools a fool, because he is alread fooled.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 7:58

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 8:05

Loner,

Your remark about spending them mucho money to run for the office makes me wonder; where is Barry Soetoro getting his billion [to run] from? Just wondering. I've also wondered where he became so rich so fast before he ever had a job. Could he have gotten a "few bucks" from Saudi Arabia?

I've also wondered why the inferior Supreme Court gave corporations permission to donate (buy) to candidates out with their stockholders money?

All political offices should be restricted to the citizens they are supposed to be representing to get their campaign money.

Only American citizens in the presidential race. The citizens of the states the Senators are running for and the citizens of the districts the representatives are running for.

But I guess that doesn't make any sense. That would mean not enough money being spent on the campaigns.

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 8:09

Well Captain Nemo,

You must be 'speaking' about yourself in your 7:55 post.

President Obama gives orders to rescue hostages from Somali pirates. GOP thanks George Bush for the victory.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 8:17

There you go with the insult, yogi. You just can’t help yourself can you?

By: Captain Nemo on 1/25/12 at 8:28

Obama praises Special Forces for rescue of US hostage from Somali pirates

“As Commander-in-Chief, I could not be prouder of the troops who carried out this mission, and the dedicated professionals who supported their efforts,” Obama said in a statement.

Moonglow1: Good speech. I hope he makes good on his promise to change the tax code for multinationals and to also reform the law that allows our Congress to engage and profit from insider trading. There was also a nod to unions which was positive. Now we shall see if these good ideas will be implemented. There is absolutely no reason that Congress should be enriching themselves but they are and big time.

Also stop spending money on war. Defense contractors made billions. It makes me sick. Poor men and women joined the military because there were no jobs for them. Thousands died and bodies disposed of in landfills. Yes Bush mission accomplished.

Actually Bush's real mission was accomplish and that was to rape and pillage the global financial system and get the 1 percent in power. He did that. I remember his call for "everyone to own a home.". Now the 1 percent want the American public to work slave labor like they have in India and China. The fools here especially in The South have been brainwashed into believing in low wages and sacrifice while companies are awash in cash.

By: bfra on 1/25/12 at 9:11

Moonglow1 - Very good analysis! I totally agree.

By: pswindle on 1/25/12 at 9:24

President Obama makes me proud, and how refreshing it is to have a highly intelligent man in the WH. I expected this type of criticism coming from what TN has become.

By: bfra on 1/25/12 at 9:38

pswindle - Another very good comment! The GOP is offering nobody that can even come close to Obama, in any field for President.

By: brrrrk on 1/25/12 at 9:54

Two words Loner.... Supreme Court.

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 11:06

Just wondering, what do you all think of "Obama" refusing to appear in the Georgia court to prove his legal authority to be in that office? Is it because he's ashamed of his answers? Or is it because he doesn't have any?

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 11:22

Loner,

On your 6:00 post you mentioned us being in war with Iran. That might be part of his plan. In my lifetime, I don't remember ever getting a new president elected when we were in a war at the time of election.Franklin Roosevelt was on his fourth term when he died.

In 1940 Hitler was in the middle of his takeover in Europe and he convinced the Americans they needed him to stay in office because of his familiarity it the situation and it was feared the US would be in that war shortly.

It turned out the Japanese hit first.

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 12:39

Maybe you should go to school in Tennessee, dargent7. You apparently didn't learn much in Michigan.

By: govskeptic on 1/25/12 at 12:59

Even the totally friendly MSNBC has indicted how much of last night's
State of the Union has mostly the same themes and language that has
been used by the President in many recent campaign speeches. And
we have used a seat in the Chamber used mainly for heroes of some
act or another for Warren Buffett's secretary. What a joke of a prop
that was. We aren't given her salary, exemptions or tax rate-just the
often used punch line. Michelle's very shiny blue $2,400. cocktail
dress was certainly an eye catcher!!!

By: Loner on 1/25/12 at 1:08

Exactly, Brrrrk. Two names: Sotomayor & Kagan. A 6th Roman Catholic and a 3rd Jew...no Protestants, the majority faith in the US. This is diversity?

No Mormons. No Unitarian Universalists. No non-believers. No Muslims. What did Obama do? He appoints two more agenda-driven women...one (Kagan) with lots of conflicts interest.

I've seen enough of Obama's USSC choices to know that he does not walk the walk that he had talked...IMHO.

I will not vote GOP...rest assured....but I cannot in good conscience vote for Mr. Obama again....it's not just the reneging on Medical Marijuana and the cave-ins on the NDAA and kow-towing to Israel...there's more to it than that...but those are 3 good starting points for justifiable disillusionment.

I gotta roll, again...see ya at 4:20?

By: Moonglow1 on 1/25/12 at 1:37

Moonglow1: Loner your best option is Ron Paul. You can't possibly vote for Newt, Rick, or Mitt.

By: brrrrk on 1/25/12 at 2:56

Moonglow1 said

"Moonglow1: Loner your best option is Ron Paul. You can't possibly vote for Newt, Rick, or Mitt."

Paul's no better..... not that he has a chance. His passive support of state sanctioned bigotry is a big "NO GO" for me.

By: yogiman on 1/25/12 at 3:05

That's why we have elections. So each of us can have our choice, be it right or wrong. Just don't screw up this time.

By: bfra on 1/25/12 at 4:49

Guess screw up means, not like putting the Bush/Cheney monkeys in there "twice", because they left us in such a screwed up mess, it would even take the Good Lord more than 1 term to recoop.

By: spooky24 on 1/26/12 at 5:23

I, and most other agree that the DNC has consented the presidential race as most voting Americans gave Obama a chance to improve things however he made them worse. There is no spin, lie or blame game that can change that fact. The rarity of a united front among Republicans-and voter apathy among rank and file Democrats shows how this will shape up.
What frightens Democratic leaders is much more important to individual members is the fact that a clean sweep by the Republicans-taking control of the Senate-could be Armageddon-and some prison sentences as well. First on that list of course is attorney general Holder who has used his appointed position to wreck havoc on his political opponents-all on the taxpayer dime not to mention his gun running operation that the press tried to bury.
Most people see Obama and his administration as simply ineffective at nothing other than talk, spin, promise, borrow and tax .
