Up for Debate: Tax incentives for small biz

Monday, December 3, 2012 at 12:55am

What do you think of Councilman Josh Stites idea of legislation that would give small businesses greater access to tax breaks and other incentives such as those used to lure corporate expansions or relocations in Davidson County? Is it a good idea? Is it feasible?

Oh, you might also want to read SR 511 for the fun of it.

Trolls hate to lose and when they do they resort to lies and just being annoying, as means of revenge.

Rasputin and yogi are to peas in a troll skin.

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 2:51

Another point, B2,

I don't remember if it was you or someone else that referred me to a 'snopes' report on the Kenyan paper referring to him as "Kenyan-born" when he took the Illinois Senate seat. [S]nopes referred to two different American newspapers on the issue not referring to him being Kenyan born and snopes accepted that as a technicality. May I argue the June 27, 2004 edition of the Kenyan newspaper "Sunday Standard" was published and printed in Kenya, not the USA? So couldn't it be understood the Kenyan paper would proudly make note of a native born Kenyan taking a seat in a American State Senate?

By: gdiafante on 12/3/12 at 2:53

What do you mean you're still looking? You've had a week and a half, nitwit.

Here, since you're obviously helpless...

By: gdiafante on 12/3/12 at 2:54

I've already debunked the "Sunday Standard" last week, yogi. Can't you read?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 2:56

Dumb as a bag of rocks, I tell ya!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 2:58

He also doesn't realize that "Barack Obama" is not an uncommon name in Kenya. I'm sure there's all sorts of birth certificates with that name - lol! I bet there are a lot of people named Jimmy Carter too but that doesn't mean he lied about his birth. What a dimwit.

By: bfra on 12/3/12 at 2:58

I thought it was a given that yogi can't read & he & Raspy are trying to see which one can tell the biggest & most lies.

By: gdiafante on 12/3/12 at 3:04

You know it's not that hard to discern...the law is pretty clear. These people are brain-dead.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 3:05

You know, Raspy is not as good of a liar as he thinks he is. If he were as fabulously wealthy as he claims to be he would have a private jet. But he doesn't. And there is a non-stop flight to West Palm Beach - he couldn't afford that flight so he had to settle for the one with a layover in Atlanta? That airport is a pain to go through - my company even springs for direct flights! LOL

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 3:48

Blanketnazi2.......A "skipchaser" like you should be able to find a non-existent non stop flight to West Palm Beach.

I believe you must have lost that "skipchaser" job because you probably found a "skip" that did not exist. Companies do not like bad information

Would you be kind enough to tell me what non-stop flight exists from Nashville to Palm Beach. I know Southwest has a 1 stop with no plane change but they do not offer first class service so I do not fly Southwest. Too many people like you on board. Remember about reading with comprehension you must read with an understanding.

For example there is a difference between non-stop and 1 stop no plane change.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 3:53

Delta has a non stop to West Palm Beach. I haven't been a skip tracer in years. I've climbed several rungs up the ladder since them.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 3:54

However you are still a lyingscumbag from The Nations, Junior. S

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 3:56

Moving a couple zip codes away so you can mooch off someone in subsidized housing doesn't make you any better than you were before - lol!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 3:57

Since you're quite the local businessman (so you claim) I figured you'd have something relevant to say about the topic at hand.

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 4:04

You're right, gdiafante,

It isn't hard to discern because it is very clear. You apparently don't understand what our founders meant when they wrote our Constitution. Did they mean anyone born in the USA with a foreign parent could become President of the nation if they lived here 14 years and reached the age of 35? This ole dummy doesn't think so. And I'll bet you 100 bucks to a donut they didn't mean a man born to Kenyan father and American mother was a natural born American citizen. I'd bet you they would have thought he was a Kenyan.

By: dargent7 on 12/3/12 at 4:13

Late to the party...
1st post was gibberish and hogwash.
Some of us have been petioning this site to "clean up" for the pat 4 years.
Since it's self governing, no such luck.
If raspy wants to read and reread yogi's relentless, dailymud-slinging: "usurper, illegal, non-citizen" horseshit about Obama, may I suggest they exchange e-mail addresses and converse among themselves.
There's about 10 idiots who fled the scene over the years due to peer pressure and their parole violations. ser-8'd comes to mind.
Loner and gd give the best posts complete with sidebars and footnotes.
Loner even has a ghost writer on his payroll.
Nazi does give good internet, however.
...how about those 49er's? And Harbaugh went to Michigan? Fisher's boys won and the Titans lost...again.

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 4:14

Yeah, I can read, gdiafante. So, are you such an expert you can't be wrong? Why do you think the "Sunday Standard" newspaper was wrong in that print? Because you know so sure Obama was born in Hawaii?

Okay, I presume you're correct. With a man of your 'obvious' knowledge, it should be simple for you: prove it.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:14

Why thank you, dargent. How's life in California treating you?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:15

yogi, he already HAS proven it. Get with the program, idiot!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:16

dargent, as you can see it's still SOS around here - lol!

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 4:24

Sorry, B2, he hasn't proven it. He's only made a comment. If he "proved" it, what evidence did he present. I want actual proof, damn it, not just his word.

And yes, I don know Barack Obama isn't an uncommon name in Kenya, B2. And I also know Barack Obama in Illinois was the only one with that name that ran for the state Senate in that state.

So, under that article in the "Sunday Standard" newspaper of Kenya, what makes you think they were writing that article for a local citizen?

But then, hell, maybe they was. Whaddaya think?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:27

You are an insufferable old fool, yogi. But you are keeping the owners of those crap websites in the green and it does distract you away from bugging the hell out of your family and caregivers for a while each day.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:28

I forgot the best part - you are assisting in speeding up the demise of the GOP. That's my favorite.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:51

Dean’s administration hasn’t engineered a deal on scale with the Dell arrangement. Rather, they’ve negotiated smaller PILOTs selectively, with Nashville companies often recipients of the tax breaks. Besides the three latest PILOT agreements, the council has signed off on the Dean administration’s $3.7 million property tax abatement for HealthSpring; an abatement totaling $2.3 million for Carlex Glass America; and a $300,000 tax break for Standard Candy Co.

By: bfra on 12/3/12 at 4:54

gdiafante has provided the absolute proof to dispute any crap yogi has ever put on this board. yogi is too dumb to read, so he just copies & paste every trash site he can find. He must be able to pick 1 or 2 words out to let him think it is mud on Obama.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:55

bfra, any time you corner him with facts he starts in with his half brain pity trip.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:56

At least he's not scamming lonely people out of money.

By: bfra on 12/3/12 at 4:56

Hi d7 - Was pulling for Fisher to take his team all the way to the Super Bowl, but he is building now and will be better next year. Hope you are enjoying Cali & are you anywhere near all the rain they are reporting.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 4:56

Blanket.....I flew this AM to West Palm Beach with a plane changen Atlanta. Delta to my knowledge does not have a non-stop flight to West Palm Beach. Will you give me the flight number of the non-stop flight I flew Delta today. I will be most appreciative.if you can tell me the flight number.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:57

Rasp, why don't you check with your secretary? I'm not a travel agent.

By: bfra on 12/3/12 at 4:59

Blanket - I don't believe anything that old fool has ever put on the board, half brain & all. I know enough people in his area that refer to him as nothing but a crazy old man that nobody wants anything to do with.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 4:59

The reason I do not is because I am retired and my old Secretary whom I called said you were a liar and and a "skip"

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 4:59

Rasp, how would I know what flight number you were on? Are you afraid you're being followed? LOL

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:01

LOL - that's funny. You really do sling some far out yarns. But hey, there you are in West Palm Beach and you take time out of your busy schedule to check in with me. Glad to know that I am so important so as to keep you away from your social duties. LOL

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:05

Junior, you sure do leave a heck of a trail behind you, you know that?

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 5:06

I guess you're a strong "dumb ole crapper", B2.

Call me what you wish. Knowing you as well as you know me, I understand your idiocy, too.

I've only noted where gdiafante, Loner and Nemrod made a comment about their children. I feel sorry for those children and any children of any of you other posters who so adamantly support Barack Obama (if that's his legal name). That is, unless you are all fellow communists with him.

I would think you would be intelligent enough to understand what that man is pulling off. If he does get it pulled off, you can kiss the old USA goodbye. To simply accept someone for their word, you're getting what you deserve.

Why do you think all of his family were, and all of his friends are, communists? Why do you think the dictators of communist nations have made such strong support remarks about his "win" of the presidency?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:07

Awwww.....yogi is jealous that Raspy is getting attention. Come on, yogi - we've played with you all day. You've had your turn. Now go sit down and play with your conspiracy sites and let Raspy have some attention.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 5:10

Blanket.....You do not need to know the flight number of the flight I took. What you need to do is verify that there is a non-stop flight to West Palm Beach from Nashville.

You stated that there was a non-stop flight because you and the other five members of the "Simple Six" want to find some reason to justify a bias against the 1%.

If you want to disconnect from your 2;05 post I will be glad to do just that.

In the meantime, since you do not qualify as a travel agent, and a total failure at chasing skips why don't you allow yourself the dignity of not expressing any opinion that requires integrity of thought.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:12

yogi, whatever happened to your theory of the false flag attack that Obama was supposed to pull right before the elections?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:13

Junior, there you are in FL and you're spending time worrying about me? How cute.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:16

I would think as a businessman that you would be more worried about local tax incentives for businesses than you would about me.

By: BenDover on 12/3/12 at 5:17

You can fly First Class non-stop into Ft Lauderdale for about half the price Raspy.

It's just another 30 minutes then in the limo to ride up to Palm Beach. A small price to pay for not having to connect.

By: Loner on 12/3/12 at 5:21

I had a minor emergency around noon today....got a well for a water supply...lost the prime on my jet pump, while draining the water-logged tank....normally a routine operation became a PIA...had to call Lance Kepler, an old friend who's still in the well and pump business.....I had to pour nearly ten gallons of Poland Spring water through the pump mechanism to partially fill the tank in order to get the pump to actually pump...(cavitation issue)...finally, she caught and the tank filled...we got water at good pressure, once again.

No public water available here, but it is available all around my place....if you have public water, be grateful.

Happy 4:20, Nashville!

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 5:21

Blanket......I am assuming that you cannot verify the non-stop flight. I therefore will disconnect from the false. accusations of 2:05

By the way, Do you smoke?

By: bfra on 12/3/12 at 5:22

Blanket - You have got Raspy sweating again! He gets mixed up a lot.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/3/12 at 5:26

Bfra.......Are you part of the 47%? or just unwilling to admit it?

By: yogiman on 12/3/12 at 5:26

Tell me, B2,

Since 'Obama' refuses to prove he's eligible for that office, how can anyone else if they don't know who he is legally? Just curious. And don't say he's already done it. He hasn't.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/3/12 at 5:29

bfra, he gets nervous easily, doesn't he? And if he were really in West Palm Beach living the high life, would he really be here posting with us? Junior isn't that bright.
