Up for Debate: Titans after one

Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 12:48am

What do you think about the Tennessee Titans after the game against New England? What did you see in Jake Locker both good and bad (while he was out there)? Are you worried about Chris Johnson's performance? Can Kenny Britt make a big enough impact?

I wish they would of asked THE pertinent question: "Where were you when 9/11 happened?"

By: puddycat on 9/11/12 at 4:01

At least make cj earn his dough. Drop him as a starter and and put some guys in there who will at least play with some heart and passion and not shy away from the job. Make CJ earn his spot instead of being handed it on a dollar-lined platter. Maybe some quality time on special teams or something like that will get his attention more than the size of his pay check. He clearly is a wealthy man and plays like it as well - to finish the contract, retire, and enjoy his dough. Some may blame the O line and that may well be part of the problem but CJ's heart is clearly THE problem. It has shrunk in proportion to the amount his paycheck has grown and his lack of performance and desire on the field is proof.

Good morning, Nashville.

I do not follow the Titans....I have no comment on this topic.

As for remembering 9-11, that's what Bin Laden had in mind....and that's what the major US media and the Defense, Israel & Energy lobbies have in mind too.

We'll never forget the attacks on 9-11-01, but nobody seems to remember why Al Qaeda did it...most Americans still do not know what motivated the hijackers and their leadership.....Defense, Israel & Energy do not want Americans to know or understand the reasons for the attack....the Israel-adoring US media are keeping Americans in the dark on this topic.

As a result of our ignorance and denial, the war on Islamic terror can go on unchecked, forever.....we fight the symptoms, while ignoring the causes.

Holy Wars Suck.

re: Titans.
The Chargers will give them a run for the money, playing in SD.
( I'm thinking of flying out there to see how Mittens 4 car elevator is coming along).
Then my Lions come to town, which I'm attending.
The Titins could lose all three.
Probably, with "CJ's" 11 carries for 4 yrds.

By: parnell3rd on 9/11/12 at 5:25

Yes, NCP cannot ask the real question of the day, can they? Their political agenda will not let that happen.

I was at work blending coca-cola syrup. Work stopped, I was trying to get my ex-wife and friends in NYC city on the phone. I was talking to my best friend when the first tower fell.
I am grateful and thankful that everyone I know in NYC was okay that day. But my friends lost alot of friends and attended many funerals.

They were murdered in the name of Islam.

By: parnell3rd on 9/11/12 at 5:28

Sorry for the double post. I give people cannon fodder to attack me!
Go ahead, show your inteligence today

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 5:37

They were murdered in the name of religious extremism, which is a perversion among all religions.

I too had friends in NYC who were, thankfully, ok. Still can't believe the towers are gone...I'm one of the few who thought we should have built them both back, better than ever.

I also remember how we came together as a nation...which didn't last very long. Too bad, a truly United States can accomplish anything.

By: dargent7 on 9/11/12 at 5:43

You guys (and Blanket, Bud) have to read this USA Today story...
A car wash/ massage parlor (!) in Mayalasia is offering a free bj after your 9th wash. It's funny, people are hoping it will rain. No rain-checks.
How come Nashville can pass a "guns 'n bars" law but not this brilliant idea?

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 6:04

Wet wash....blow dry? I agree, D7, Nashville should try to emulate Malaysia on that one.

By: govskeptic on 9/11/12 at 6:15

We can only hope the Titans can end the season well, versus being the
GM Volt of the auto industry.

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 6:16

I do not believe those towers collapsed being hit as high as they were. I believe it was a planed plot for them to collapse straight down.

When watching the shows showing their collapse it looked like explosives exploding in the corner areas of those towers. What else would make them collapse straight down?

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:17

Gov, you must not watch football much...**cough** Miami...

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:21

Pretty simple stuff, yogi. So let me guess, you think it was a conspiracy...lol

By: dargent7 on 9/11/12 at 6:24

Yogi would cancel his car wash punch card on the 8th wash.

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:26

Nah, he'd insist that that livestock do the deed...he's a creature of habit.

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 6:32

If it wasn't a conspiracy gdiafante, why did they fly into those towers at the same time? Yes, it was a conspiracy, and being so, it had to be planned. And being planned, seeing what I saw, I'll argue you those towers were set up to collapse straight down.

If not, they both would not have collapsed straight down. They would have fell on angles.

That is, unless they were designed to be built so they would collapse straight down it blown up.

By: govskeptic on 9/11/12 at 6:34

Not so sure I understand your often very stupid remarks after ever
simple posting I make. If name calling or such remarks make you
feel a little taller or smarter then so be it. It does, however, make your
sometimes very good postings appear thinner.

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:35

They were designed to fall straight down...by the designers...not the terrorists. They were as surprised as we were that they collapsed.

And when you speak of preset charges...sounds like you're saying it was an inside job...is that what you're saying? Or are you saying that terrorists planted explosives? Which is it?

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 6:40

Barack Hussein Obama, the Kenyan-borne, Communist, Islamic terrorist who usurped the US Presidency, can be clearly seen running away from the Twin Towers, with excess bomb-making materials in hand, just before the towers collapsed.....read about it here:

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:40

I did not call you a name, gov, simply pointed out that the Titans aren't that bad when you consider a team much, much worse...the Dolphins.

Get that chip off your shoulder...mkay?

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 6:42

You're right to a point, gdiafante. I'm a creature of letting fellow Americans know what the hell is going on in this nation.

And ya wanna know something else? Barry has been unquestionably exposed as to who his father was; and it wasn't Barack Obama [Sr.] Compare pictures of him, Barack Obama [Sr.] and Frank Marshall Davis.

By: Rasputin72 on 9/11/12 at 6:43

For those like myself who have an interest in NFL football, one must remember that Houston ran this franchise and its owner out of town for lack of interest in a mediocre football team.

He came to Nashville and sold the citizens and the politicos on a sweetheart deal. He then gave us a runner-up in a Super Bowl. For most of the past seven years he has gIiven us NFL football at its ugliest.

I must admit that I bought into the hype. I bought a share of a box with friends and saw the light four years ago. I now spend late falls, winters and early springs in Florida.

I enjoy golf, bridge, gin and conversations with accomplished and successful people. I also enjoy internet conversing with a group of people with whom I have nothing in common other than their being human beings.
It is very entertaining until you realize that there are more of them than there are of deeply thinking and productive people.

Viva, The good life!

By: gdiafante on 9/11/12 at 6:45

How about you answer the question, yogi. Leave your ADD at the door.

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 6:46

Unless those [designers] designed those corners with [built in] explosives to prevent a normal fall, yes, it was in inside job to make a straight down collapse.

BirtherFest 2012, featuring Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio as headliner, has been canceled.

The Greater Phoenix Tea Party Patriots group admits it just couldn't sell enough of the $10 tickets to hold the event, which was scheduled for September 22 at the Celebrity Theatre.

No chip nor slam against the Titans. Nor my style or time available to argue on
any post with those wishing to be a wise @ss.

Loner I thought we would ignore the troll. I know bad habits are hard to stop, but let’s remember we are better.

I've got more to say if you want.

By: dargent7 on 9/11/12 at 6:53

Guy has bad karma.

Go Green Bay...sorry Blanket. ;-)

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/11/12 at 6:56

I'll forgive you, Nemo.....but if it were someone else...

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 6:57

Excuse me, Sir. (gdiafante) Did I miss your question or just unable to interpret what you was asking?

Repeat yourself simply and I'll give you an answer that I'm sure you won't believe.

As we Americans commemorate the tragedy of the 9-11 attacks, our "closest ally" is biting the hand that feeds it, arms it, defends it, and bankrolls it.

Israeli PM Netanyahu has chosen 9-11 as the time to launch what Haaretz calls, "an unprecedented verbal attack on the US government".

Here's a snippet:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday launched an unprecedented verbal attack on the U.S. government over its stance on the Iranian nuclear program.

"The world tells Israel 'wait, there's still time'. And I say, 'Wait for what? Wait until when?' Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don't have a moral right to place a red light before Israel," Netanyahu told reporters on Tuesday.

"Now if Iran knows that there is no red line. If Iran knows that there is no deadline, what will it do? Exactly what it's doing. It's continuing, without any interference, towards obtaining nuclear weapons capability and from there, nuclear bombs," he said.

I submitted a response on the comment board for the story..., but so far, Haaretz has not posted it ...so, you lucky folks in Nashville will get to read it....enjoy!

PM Netanyahu was educated in the USA and his command of the English language is masterful. Bibi knows that Americans like catchy phrases that rhyme or use alliteration, as a mnemonic device.

With that in mind, one has to admire Bibi's use of language when he asked this loaded rhetorical question: "Now if Iran knows that there is no red line. If Iran knows that there is no deadline, what will it do?"

That's great; "red lines" and "deadlines"..."red lines" and "red lights"...even Mrs. Clinton could easily grasp and remember these talking points. The US media will now act as an echo chamber for the catchy slogans.

One must also admire the cleverness that the Israelis show when they invent terms like, "Zone of Immunity" and "Existential Threat". Very clever, indeed.

Mr. Netanyahu should realize that "red line" and "deadline" both rhyme with "bread line"....and Israel has been at the head of the US Foreign Aid breadline for six decades.....and now Bibi has the chutzpah to launch an "unprecedented verbal attack" on Israel's primary benefactor....and on September 11th, for added impact, I suppose.

Biting the hand that feeds you is not the way to show gratitude to a nation that puts its own troops and treasure on the line to preserve, defend and bankroll the "Jewish State" concept.

Netanyahu is a consummate ingrate and a panicky war monger.....he's gotta go....he's toxic to the "Special Relationship"....(another catchy, Made-in-Israel, phrase.)

By: Captain Nemo on 9/11/12 at 7:02

Thank you Blanket LOL

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 7:08

Forgive me, Captain....I could not resist....I used my valid NYS Comedic License in my 7:40 post...it is my understanding that TN and NY have reciprocity agreements on Comedic Licensing.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/11/12 at 7:18

I thought that the best way to fight the troll was to not pay any attention to it. It loses its powers if no one feed it. Now if you want to keep around for torment, I'm gamed.

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 7:21

No....no tormenting the troll.....ignoring the troll is more effective...and humane....the guy is obsessed and filled with hate....I pity him.

By: bfra on 9/11/12 at 7:25

Raspy - Even lowly lil ole me has Titans box seats. You sound very selfish! Do you not have family or friends that would enjoy using them when you can't? If not, from your condesending remarks, I could understand.

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 7:25

So what should Israel do Loner, wait for Iran to attack them after they've begun making the threat?

Tell me, if you're standing in front of a man that is threatening to beat the hell out of you at any given time, should you just wait and let him have the first punch even though you know he's going to do it but hoping he will change his mind?

I've never known Israel to start a war at any time, but I have known them to finish some.

By: bfra on 9/11/12 at 7:26

Note: Warped minds, stay warped!

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 7:36

The Grey Poupon stained one reveals his personal pleasures: "I enjoy golf, bridge, gin and conversations with accomplished and successful people. I also enjoy internet conversing with a group of people with whom I have nothing in common other than their being human beings."

Rasp, we are not worthy....go sip some gin under your bridge, while conversing with your fellows....the "accomplished and successful" bridge-dwellers....pass the brown bagged bottle around....and dream of playing golf at an exclusive Country Club in Florida.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/11/12 at 7:52

Rasputin says, “I've never known Israel to start a war at any time, but I have known them to finish some."

Israel or anyone else does not have to take the first shoot to start wars. Keeping another’s freedom is good cause for the suppressed to fight back.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/11/12 at 7:53

LOL Loner.

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 7:55

You're right in one respect. I hate a man that usurped our President's Office. I guess that would mean I hate Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama for that purpose.

But your argument I hate him because of his race is BS. If that was the case, what excuse would I have not to hate the white half of him? How can you hate one half and not the other?

I also hate Congress (especially the Senate) for allowing it to happen and let it continue for a full term. Fear of a race riot? BS. The black Americans are only 13% of our population and I've seen and heard a lot of them that hate his guts. Were the lying?

The evidence is there, Frank Davis was his father, and yes, that would have made him a natural born citizen... unless he was born in Kenya as was possible according to the news. Barack Obama was bought into the issue as marrying his mother, there has never been a marriage license seen. They never had the same address and he ran around with other women even after their "marriage" (look into what he gained on his education). When his mother married Lolo Soetoro, he lost his citizenship (Indonesia would not accept dual citizenship). And once you lose it, you can only repatriate by becoming a naturalized citizen.

There is so much you don't know about Barry that you had better learn unless you want
him to stay in office. If you do, you can bet your a$$ he will let his communist acts well known.

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 7:56

Haaretz just posted my comment, as #41...I'm surprised that it went through their censorship process.

So, where is Dover....Slack and Pain too....and is John Galt out there reading this stuff and biding his time?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/11/12 at 8:17

BenDover method?

By: yogiman on 9/11/12 at 8:21

I understand your condition on your 8:26 post, bfra. I feel sorry for you... really.

Hopefully, though, you might mature in 15 or 20 years. Hang in there.

By: Loner on 9/11/12 at 8:21

D7, I do not consider this to be the dumbest posting board in America...yes, we have our trolls...but good commentary from a variety of viewpoints can be found here...or it once could.....back in the day, anyway.

If all the comment boards go to the FB platform, then one bad move anywhere can get one banned everywhere....FB is Big Brother.....and Big Brother will police our thoughts for us...for our own good of course......sorry, I do not wish to join FB, so that I can post on a news story.

We agree on a lot, D7, but we disagree on FB....and the NCP.
