Should potential tension with donors steer Vanderbilt's decision regarding its all-comers policy?

Loner,

RE: Your 8:48 post.

I'm simply trying to keep you and your fellow Obama supporting posters aware of someone in the White House who is obviously in there illegally. And I am intent on continuing to do so until the next election. That is, if he doesn't get us placed under martial law and we have another election.

I don't think this site is for simple chit chatting. Isn't the city paper is for the news.

What gives you that knowledge, because I'm so strong on my argument Obama is a thief of the White House? You make me laugh.

The only thing strong about yogi, is the odor from his diaper.

gdiafarte,

I believe my 8 decades of life on this earth has given me more knowledge of common sense, and sense of humor, than you can imagine having in your present stage of life.

If this was true yogi you would be lighting at yourself, like the rest of the world.

gdiafante - A 2yr. old child could understand your comment to yogi, that idiot can't!

LONER........We agree on very little socially and politically. I do however want to re-iterate the old saying "When you are hot you are hot." Today you are burning up.

It is difficult for me not to see some truth and a great deal of very good agnostic humor in your diatribe today. Beautiful, just beautiful!

yogi, if you were really trying to prove that Obama was illegally in Office you would not be wasting your time on us. You would be organizing a moment of likewise insane cohorts and march on DC. Instead you sit in front of your computer and cry for attention, from a few people.

Yogi is just an 80+ year old idiot, white man, that hasn't accomplished anything of importance in his life time & here this young, intelligent black man has reached the highest office of President. Envy & jealousy can kill a person, and if I was 80+, I would give my ignorance a lot of thought before using it to bore everybody

Raspy - You should spend more time learning about walking horses. You stated your family had been associated with walking horses for ages, but judging by your comments, which end?

By: Captain Nemo on 5/21/12 at 9:22

Yes brrrrk, some people think God is in the bank vault and as long as they are making money, their faith is strong.

Chicago Nazi's have the right to protest... just like the Blues Brothers have the right to chase them off the bridge with their car.

My advice is to learn a little bit about Christ before you either use him as a faux excuse to hate gays or let others define their version of Christianity so that it's unacceptable to you and you run from God.

The uber-evangelists and the militant atheists have staked out a polar opposition in the lexicon today that would seem to require one to choose sides (note how that benefits the thespians in this political theater and no one else).

I say read the gospels and see what's right for you. You'll find that there is little emphasis on homosexuality... far less that the contempt Jesus felt for divorce; but what do you ever hear about that from the church anymore?. And as I mentioned earlier it is the pious preachers that put law over love who Jesus held in contempt.

The problem is that people are listening to outliers on both sides who tell them they must choose... each serving their own selfish position and neither telling the truth.

By: slacker on 5/21/12 at 9:58

Ben, freedom of association, does not necessarily involve ones belief in Christianity.
Vandy is a private school and can create whatever policy they choose. As stated earlier the opposition groups, would be better served re-locating off campus, and accepting sympathetic Vandy alumni donations.

By: BenDover on 5/21/12 at 10:09

I agree Slacker but as every institution is extorted with these methods when we make a stand? After all of society is under the management of government bureaucrats and our cultural and social religious heritage is suffocated by default?

I don't think religious charitable organizations should accept government grant or monies but is it right to discriminate against them because of their religious affiliation? The YMCA, for example, may be very well suited for a targeted community out-reach program. Should their religious affiliation exempt them from a grant in which they are the best or only community provider?

By: BenDover on 5/21/12 at 10:10

when do we make a stand.

By: yogiman on 5/21/12 at 10:15

Sorry, gdiafarte, Obama (if that's his name) is not our President. There is special qualifications you must have for that office and he doesn't have them. If you had just an iota of common sense you would wonder why he won't identify himself. Apparently you went to a different kind of school and got different a different education than I..

Our founders specified the requirements to become President of this nation. Your idea the definition of "natural born citizen" has changed is... BS. The only way that could have happened would be through an amendment and I'm old enough and have lived through enough to know Congress never issued an amendment we, the citizens, to change the legal definition of the topic.

By: yogiman on 5/21/12 at 10:34

bfra,

You're right on one point, I am an 80+ year old man. And you say I object to a young black man from becoming our president. BS! First, he is not a simple black man. I will as quickly consider him to be an illegal white man in office.

If you had enough brain to do a little wondering, I would think you would like to know who he really is. But the only thing you know about him is his race.

It's hard on me to understand why anyone would so readily accept a person as their president who refuses to prove their identity simply because of their race.

Have you not wondered why he forced John McCain to prove his legal eligibility but refused to prove his own? Didn't think so. He asked McCain questions but refused to answer the same questions. Why?

The worst consideration of that is the Senate allowed him his refusal.

By: BenDover on 5/21/12 at 10:37

There's a lot of retreating and not enough regrouping slacker. I'm afraid the cultural war is largely lost as no one is much up for a reasoned discussion anymore. The atheists and evangelists hold the stage now. It's like watching an episode of the McLaughlin
Group and everyone has tuned out.

By: slacker on 5/21/12 at 10:47

Ben, the culture war is lost, its not gonna change. Its best to just eat, drink, and be merry Also get laid as much as possible, and watch football. In off season... find a good poker game.

No one wants to talk music, The Bee Gees, or the Rutgers student who did a hate crime?
You all want to address "yogi's" bullshit?

Another load of bullshit... "atheists" have no issue with what you believe. Frankly I don't give a shit! But what history proves over and over again is that when any faith is backed by the power of government, that faith uses the full faith of that government to suppress other faiths. There's a big difference between an "atheist" government and a secular government.

Why is it you and your fellow posters on this site all agree Barack Obama is legally in office as President of the US yet you offer no evidence on it except to say he was born in the USA?

What actual evidence have you seen except other than hearing his vocal argument?

I would like to see it.
