Paul Ryan will be a much better choice for VP than Joe Biden was ever thought of. LTC Allen West would also have been a good choice. As a retired Army man he's very articulate in telling it like it is.

Since Romney will lose in Nov., it's irrelevant.
Suprised they didn't give their "goddess" Palin another shot at it.
"Snookie" would of been a better choice, however.

By: Rasputin72 on 9/25/12 at 4:37

As soon as I read the title subject,my first thought was "the villagers will have a fiield day with this one..

I would imagine however that 75% of those in the productive class look upon Ryan quite favorably.

I look forward this evening to reading what the 47% have to say about a man who probably accomplished more by age 16 than most of his detractors on this board have accomplished collectively in their entire lives.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 4:44

Your man Barry might be getting desperate, dargent7. I see where the FBI is aware of his illegality and a man in the Electoral College in Minnesota is trying to get that proof of eligibility in the books. We have only 44 days until the sh!t hits the fan.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 4:44

People tend to forget, Obama, whether from Hawai'i, Indonesia, or Kenya, became President of the United States at 47 years of age.
I was surfing in Hawai'i at 47. Being President or surfing. It's a tie.
What in the hell were you doing?

I think that Ryan didn't do what it was intended to do...which was give some legitimacy to Romney's fiscal plans. It really hasn't worked. The devil's in the details...and when the smoke clears, it seems Ryan's budget knowledge isn't that great...neither are his ideas.

But, on the bright side, it should make for a good debate.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 5:16

Where did you go to school, dargent7? How can a person be elected as president when they aren't legally eligible.

If you learned anything in that school you should know you can't win an election in a race you aren't eligible to run in. Are you saying anyone who wins the vote wins the presidency? Do you mean Vladimir Putin could become President of the USA?

You need to go back to school, dargent7 and take a deeper course in civics.

By: govskeptic on 9/25/12 at 5:17

It would appear Paul Ryan has taken his job as a Congressman much more
seriously, and poured much more time into his duties than our current Vice
President has put into his over a lifetime in politics. Unless the moderators
give Mr. Biden a heads up on the questions to be asked, which may be very
likely, Mr. Ryan should wear him out in their debate.

dargent and Obama have so much in common, I never cease to be amazed.
One possible difference might be that the Saudi's helped Mr. Obama get
into Harvard and supplied much (if not all) of the scholarship money for
this President.

By: parnell3rd on 9/25/12 at 5:20

He's no gaffe machine like Joe Biden thank GOD! Remember, Joe Biden was supposed to keep track of ALL the Stimulas Money.
The Polls are skewing the numbers in Obama's favor. If he wins again, it will prove that American's are reallly dumb. That will be the fool yall twice, shame on you!
If you all want communism keep voting DemoNcrat, we'll get there soon!

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 5:23

So now what happens, gdiafante? We have only 44 days before the election. If Obama's illegality is brought out, does Joe Biden get put in the President's race? Then, If he wins, would we then have a President only for the next 4 years? Lord help the USA if Joe Biden is the man.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 5:23

It would appear Paul Ryan has taken his job as a Congressman much more
seriously, and poured much more time into his duties than our current Vice
President has put into his over a lifetime in politics.

Care to back up that statement? Seems absurd at face value. What exactly has Ryan done, besides the debacle of a budget? And make no mistake, I'm not defending Biden, but if you're going to throw out something like that, you should be prepared to defend it.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 5:27

The Polls are skewing the numbers in Obama's favor. If he wins again, it will prove that American's are reallly dumb.

You forget, this country re-elected Bush. I think it was a British paper that had the completely accurate headline: How can 300,000,000 people be so dumb!.

By: parnell3rd on 9/25/12 at 5:28

We do not have to defend demoNcrats, that is your job.
According to President Obama Telephones were invented and installed into the White House so he did not have to meet with world leaders face to face. His Schedule is to busy with campain stops, Letterman, the view, and golf to stay in town and do his job.
On the view 2 years ago he said "We should not campain all the time" He does not take his own advice.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 5:28

I think by now everyone knows I went to the University of Michigan.
Graduating with a minor in Animal Husbandry, with the lowest possible honors.

By the way folks, I'm moving to Key Largo, FL the first week of Oct.
I won't be posting from there, so get all your sarcasm and vitriole out now.

I had the pleasure of meeting "House", Cpt. Nemo, Blanket at our coffee clutch last year before we were banned from Star Bagel for walking out on the tab.
I always wanted to meet gD, but as a former Marine, he declined, scared knowing I'm from Detroit.

Good luck to everyone.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 5:30

To be fooled twice isn't "shame on you", parnell3rd. It means we've screwed you again and we'll give you the third screw next time because you're too damn ignorant to see the way you're getting screwed.

By: govskeptic on 9/25/12 at 5:34

I can always depend on gdi for a either a challenge or smart @ss remark on
any statement made.
While you may think Ryan's budget was absurd at face value, I would point
out it passed by a large margin in the committee which he chairs and in
the House by an even larger margin. Mr. Romney has indicated he favors
most but not all of those ideas, it will be Romney's budget that would be
presented to Congress and not Ryan's. Ryan drafted one budget proposal
and then amended that one to that which was passed. The President and
the Re-election committee still use the draft proposal when they wish to
criticize the document as Romney's offer to the public. Of course, distortion
and/or out right lies are no problem in this election.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 5:34

I always wanted to meet you too, Darge, my schedule (and kids) doesn't allow much free time, and if it does, I run. I like you, and no offense, but I'd rather run. :)

Good luck in in Florida. We'll miss you.

If Obama is re-elected it's probably more because they don't like Romney than they actually like Obama. I'll give Romney props...he's really good at one thing...getting people to dislike him.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 5:37

So, gov, all you got is the budget? If you can read, I asked for something besides the budget...

What exactly has Ryan done, besides the debacle of a budget?

Is it really considered a smart ass remark if I'm just asking you to understand a simple statement?

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 5:39

The difference gdiafante, Bush was running legally, Obama isn't. I'll repeat again; how can anyone vote for someone when they don't even know their legitimate name? I call that ultimate stupidity.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 5:40

Yes, the budget...

http://cognoscenti.wbur.org/2012/09/19/paul-ryan-budget-linda-j-bilmes

I would say debacle is an apt word, no?

Yogi @ 6:39
The President's name is Barack Hussein Obama.
Being half black, orphaned, and with a name like that, it's truly amazing he won the presidency.
GW Bush ran alright.
He got 500,000 less votes than Gore, his brother was Gov. of the "swing state" Florida, Katherine Harris-R was Attny Gen., and the SCOTUS was 5-4 slanted Republican.
How could he possibly lose in 2000?
The real difference between a Republican and a Democrat is that a Repub will knowing cheat to win, and feel good about it. They think they won, by cheating.
A Dem will respectfully lose, if he didn't win, by cheating.
It's moral character. Something Repubs will never understand.

Interesting post on Obama's crimes.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 6:03

I believe you've got the two parties turned around, dargent7. What do you call Harry Reid's comments about Romney not filing his income tax for 11 years even knowing he was lying?

Question: How do you know Barack Hussein Obama is that man's name? I'd advise you not to bet your 10 bucks on it. And he wasn't orphaned, he lived with his grandparents from age 10.. who were well know communists as was a good friend of theirs named Frank Marshall Davis.

A close comparing look would indicate Frank Davis as being his father, not Barack Obama.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 6:05

dargent7,

Being in the home state and home county of Al Gore, and knowing him and his parents, you better be happy he was not elected President.

Key Largo is one of the best kept secrets in all of Florida. I do not know what prompted your decision to be in Key Largo, but I think it will turn out to be one of your most comfortable choices.

By: treehugger7 on 9/25/12 at 6:22

Gonna miss you, Darge--you were a voice of sanity on this board. Key Largo is a wonderful place. Are you taking Yogi with you?

Good morning, Nashville.

Q: What do you think so far about Mitt Romney's choice of Paul Ryan as a running mate?
A: Ryan was a lousy choice to begin with. The VP candidate is supposed to be the hatchet man...Ryan is not hacking away, like Cheney did....the former wiener-moblie pilot is too wimpy

Q:How has Ryan added to the campaign?
A: He has added little, except for the boos he received when he spoke to the AARP.

Q: Who might have been a better choice?:
A: Eric Cantor or Jesus Christ.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 6:29

Goodbye, Dargent7. I hope that you change your mind and continue to post from your new digs. Reports from Key Largo on a regular basis would be great.

Darge has added much to this forum; his wit...his passion....his street smarts....his Motor Town perspective are just some of the positive things that he has contributed.

We sometimes differed in our views; but I count D7 in among the "good guys"....I wish him well....and I hope he keeps on postin'.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 6:31

Al Gore wasn't born in Tenn. I think he's from ILL.
"google" it yogi, with your Wang.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 6:35

Jesus wouldn't have been a desirable candidate for the GOP, Loner. He did not work (for wages), associated with whores and sinners, was a radical, spread the wealth (fishes and loaves), preached that the rich should give it all up and follow him...

Nope, he wouldn't have lasted the vetting.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 6:43

As you may know, I came to Tenn. from in/ on Maui, Hawai'i for 12 years.
My initial plan was to move back to San Diego, CA where I was for 9 years, prior.
The State of Hawai'i siezed my bank account for back taxes ( and vagrancy) so I was broke. I had one friend, who lived here in Nashville. Otherwise, I wouldn't of chosen Tenn. in a million years. No offense.
It's been a long 5.5 years here.
At 52, It's hard to find a job.....
I've never been to Key Largo, but it's the 1st Key.
I was thinking of Key West, but I heard it was "very gay", "not that there's anything wrong with that".
I've been married 3x and being "gay" sounds like it might be a step up and an improvement.
I'll miss you guys.
Sincerely, really.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 6:44

You're right on one subject, dargent7. Al was born in DC. He was "raised" in Smith County TN. His father was in Congress and made his back and forth trips.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 6:44

Good points, Gd....the real Jesus would not measure up to expectations....a bellicose, pistol-packing, Israel-loving, Muslim-hating, abortion-clinic-burning, death-penalty-loving, union-busting, Wall-Street-invested Jesus would be much more welcome.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 6:45

...and homophobic....

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 6:54

Darge....if you start posting from Key Largo, FL and if I keep posting from here, near Rochester, NY, we can claim that this NCP forum has posters who live 1,522 miles apart...that's a hefty distance, North & South.....what we need, IMO, is some West Coast input too....we would be nationwide....triangulating the consensus.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 6:57

What makes you think you're going to find a job in Key Largo dargent7, unless you're moving to one you already have? I've read where more homes are being lost on foreclosures in Florida than any other state.

You're a bartender and only 52? Maybe you should open a bar. You'd get plenty of drinkers locally.

If you qualify, security officers have jobs waiting for them. With the crooks and thefts today, there's plenty of security jobs. And of course, that would hold true in Key Largo, too. But I imagine rental expenses would be a lot higher down there.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/25/12 at 7:03

Good luck in FL, dargent. Definitely better weather and probably an overall higher IQ. LOL

Loner, the Dems would have played the video of Jesus saying this over and over...

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

-Matthew 6:24

For those who don't know, mammon is money, wealth, etc.

To be fair, to politicize this is clearly over the top, to assume that a diety would actually care about the insignificant political divides in a country on a tiny planet that is one out of a trillion trillion planets in a universe that the diety holds dominion...well you get the picture.

By: budlight on 9/25/12 at 7:23

D7, you stated that Obama was orphaned. That is not true. Here is an excerpt from his mother's life:
"After several years of schooling, Ann Soetoro returned to Indonesia for doctoral level fieldwork. Wishing to remain with his grandparents, 14-year-old Barack Obama Jr. declined to join his mother."

He chose to live with his grandparents. His father and stepfather died; then his mom died, but that was while he was "choosing" not to live with her. He chose to live with his grandparents who raised him.

So I would exactly call that an orphan.

Moving from Nashville? It's about time. You've complained about it till you're blue in the face. But I'm not so sure you'll be happy anywhere you light. And I'm surprised that you would not want to move to a place which is dominated by gays. I mean, you are so accepting of diversity and all that!

Anyway, best wishes. You've had some great posts on here even though I don't agree with everything you say. I do agree with some of your posts.

I'm sure you'll find a way to let your presence be known to us in Nashville. And who knows, maybe we'll all move there with you! LOL

By: bfra on 9/25/12 at 7:25

d7 - Hope you enjoy Key Largo, it is a great place and if you get the chance, do keep us informed on the board.

Ryan was heckled and booed when he spoke to the AARP.

Who cares about AARP? They are just a bunch of crotchety old blue haired people who want everything handed to them and they joined up with AARP so they could lobby and pay off politicians. I wouldn't give them a dime of my money.

And of course they heckled him. They are crass and rude people.
