Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2:05am

What do you think so far about Mitt Romney's choice of Paul Ryan as a running mate? How has Ryan added to the campaign? Who might have been a better choice?

Just think about it gdiafante, there might be billions of people like us on other globes on these planets.

We need to get to know them. We could have some of the damnedest arguments imaginable. Of course, we'd be smarter than they.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 7:36

Ryan was a great choice for the Democrats. It shows that Romney will do anything, but the right thing for the country.

Gd, Jesus may not be available, but Eric Cantor was available....if Romney wanted to flip the Jewish Democrats over to the Republican side, Cantor would have been the way to go.

Both the Dems and the GOP must be thinking about 2016 right now....Romney's bid looks dubious....in all likelihood, the Dems and the GOP will both have primary battles and Super-PAC power in that upcoming contest...it will be a bloody mess for sure.

It's gonna come down to FL, OH, PA, VA....their EC votes will decide the matter.

Moonglow1: All in the Family

Paul Ryan's brother, Tobin Ryan worked for Romney at Bain. The Ryans are self promoters. Tobin made some real money as a stooge for Romney.

Romney is a poster boy for the propaganda that CEOs are smart. Seems to me, these wealth moochers like Romney that suck money from the taxpayers to fund their corporations (corporate welfare) are dumb, dumb, and dumber. I now understand why they do not promote real education. They are not intellectual. They have no morals. They worship money. They are greedy.

As for Ryan: another self promoting insolent idiot who worships the Ayn Rand ideology which was borne from her experience as a Russian Jew in a communist regime.

Romney has been found to be invested in various Chinese companies so when he calls out for a stricter monetary policy for China it benefits him and his handler, Adelson who own a mini Las Vegas in Macou.

So Romney Ryan will help the USA HOW????

I wish you guys would learn to click or clack. I can't tell if you're "listening" to me or saying shut up. Looks like I'll have to keep repeating myself so you can learn something.

6 Worst Lies In Paul Ryan’s Speech

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 7:43

He has not answer you question gdia, but he is still the most intelligent of the conservatives.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/25/12 at 7:44

6. “The greatest of all responsibilities is that of the strong to protect the weak.” Ryan closed the speech with an invocation of social responsibility, saying, “The truest measure of any society is how it treats those who cannot defend or care for themselves.” However, numerous clergy members have condemned Ryan’s budget plan as “cruel,” and “an immoral disaster” because of its devastating cuts in social programs the poor and sick rely on. Meanwhile, Ryan would give ultra-rich individuals and corporations $3 trillion in tax breaks.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 7:52

Moonglow, you gotta be kidding. Paul Ryan worked for Oscar Mayer meats for a while...drove their wiener-mobile, according to Wiki.....and you say that he has a brother named, "Tobin"?

Around here, "Tobin's" hot dogs are a local favorites.....did the Ryan family have a fetish for tube steaks?

Check it out:

Paul "Wieners" Ryan's brother is named Tobin...around here, that would get a laugh.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:02

When Gov. Pawlenty recently quit his job, as Rmney's campaign c-chair, to go to work for Wall Street as a politician-turned-lobbyist, it did two things:

1. It looked like Pawlenty was abandoning a loser. The first rat to jump ship.
2. It exposed Romney's intent to represent the selfish interests of Wall Street insiders.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 8:06

I left out "Loner" of part of the coffee clutch".
He was patched in via satellite and took part in our discussions.

A Willard and a Tobin?
I always thought naming a child branded him/ her for life.

This just in: yogi says Ringo Star's real name isn't "Ringo", so all of The Beatles music is fake.
BTW: How does one get "Mitt" for a name if your name is Willard? Wouldn't "Will" be more authentic?

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:10

Romney's campaign co-chair must have needed the money badly to pull such a stunt, just as the campaign was reeling from the 47% gaffe....with friends like that, who needs enemies?

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 8:11

Since "yogi's" Wang isn't "googling" properly, I did fact check it and Al Gore was born in Washington, DC.
And, I was still born in Detroit, Mich., goddam it.
(get it? "still-born")

American is driven to the Poor House in the Wieners Mobile.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 8:13

Romney got his nickname Mitt, by keeping his mitts in other people’s pockets.

By: bfra on 9/25/12 at 8:15

Nemo - LOL Wonder how many people he has actually put out of work and he climbed the money ladder on their backs?

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:17

Yes, they patched me in via satellite....we need a video-link....uh....maybe not.

I was surprised to read Bud's rant about senior citizens...she claimed to have once looked like Miss December 1966 (Playboy Magazine).....doing the math....Bud's gotta be right up there...near Social Security age, I'm guessing.

Bud would vote against her own best interests, just to get that doggone black guy out of there?

LOL.....maybe: "America is driven to the Slaughter House in the Wiener-Mobile" would be more like it...Soylent Green could be next.

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 8:26

Tell me, how many people do you know (including yourself) who isn't money hungry? You stated; "So Romney Ryan will help the USA HOW????

So tell me, how has Obama helped the USA?

And B2, you mentioned 6 lies Ryan has said. Would you like to read the 36 lies Obama has said?

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 8:27

You should not be surprised by anything bud says, Loner. You know she is infatuated with yogi’s money.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:27

Great You-tube video of the Wiener-mobile.

Can Ryan cut the mustard?

click - clack - clunk - clank - clang!

Hey Yogi, hope you are having a nice day.

Loner, I don't care if he is black. If he magically turned white (the other half), I would still not like his policies. POLICIES! Do you know the definition of policy? It is not the same as race? Race is not an issue.

Yes, I am 66 in October. BUT I do not like Obama's policies, nor the AARP.

Obama is not in the best interest of the country. He has flipped and flopped more than a fish out of water, which is exactly what he is. A little boy who dreamed about being a community organizer who has achieved what is commonly known as the Peter Principle - advanced to a higher level than he is qualified to hold. He is not presidential material. EXAMPLE: Shucking and Jiving with rapper J-Z who is definitely not diplomat material.

Thanks Loner. You have answered everything I wanted to know about the Wiener Mobile. lol

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:36

Bud....Bud....Bud....you poor thing....bless your heart....you would prefer a draft-dodging, tax-evading tycoon, one born with the proverbial silver spoon, to be POYUS....you reject a man who came from humble roots and in spite of his color and his name, became POTUS.

You claim it's not Obama's skin color that puts you off, it's his policies...let's hear your laundry list of alleged policy errors, blunders and missteps....what's your beef, lady?

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:37

POYUS = POTUS...my bad....mea culpa.

By: dargent7 on 9/25/12 at 8:40

bfra: We had Dairy Queens in Detrot. A & W Root Beer stands. Frosty Freeze's, Bob's Big Boy.
And I still didn't get laid.....

By: yogiman on 9/25/12 at 8:40

I agree on your statement [Obama is not in the best interest of the country]. His interest is to place this country into the One World Nation. When you go back on several president before him (which by the way, being a usurper, he isn't our president) have been on that road for several decades.

If you heard him, G. H. W. Bush was the first president I heard mention that goal. And I'm not sure Jimmy Carter was the first communist to serve as president. But at least he was in the office legally.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 8:43

bud voted for the white guy.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:48

OK....some tube-steak verbal towel-snapping:

"Paul Ryan piloted the Oscar Mayer Wiener-mobile, but can he cut the mustard as Vice President of the United States?"

"FDR promised a chicken in every pot; Ryan would stuff a wiener into every bun."

"Wieners" was grilled by the AARP....Obama relished the boos.".

"Weiner's buns are toast."

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:54

Darge, if want to get laid....buy a retired postal Jeep, DJ-5L model, put some tie-dyed privacy curtains in there...a sleeping deck with mattress and sleeping bag....add a cooler and a Coleman stove.....burn some Nag Champa incense in the Jeep whenever you are in it......let your hair and beard grow....wear Chuck Taylor sneakers....learn to play Djembe drums and or native American flutes...if you do all that. I personally guarantee that you will be presented with ample opportunities for intimate encounters of the sexual kind.....take my word for it, my friend.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 8:59

My typing and proof-reading skills are not up to parr this morning....have mercy on an old-timer.

Time to talk NFL?

Last night's game ended in a hotly contested bru-ha-ha.....here's the story with video.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 9:05

Loner whacks the Weiner, yet again with additional hilarity.

(smack )

By: Captain Nemo on 9/25/12 at 9:08

Last night is the reason I won’t watch the NFL, until the real Zebras return.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 9:11

One ref called it a TD, the other called it an interception & touch-back...time had expired, how could there be a touch-back...that is just one of the questions that millions are now asking...scab refs saved the owners some money for about three games...but now the entire NFL could degenerate into brutal barnyard wrestling on a gridiron....of course, some fans would love that.....but all hell will break loose on the playing field if this thing isn't settled soon.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 9:13

Actually, I might go to the next Bill's game....just to watch the spectacle....my sign: SCAB REFS SUCK.

By: Moonglow1 on 9/25/12 at 9:14

Loner, check it out! These Weiner's are bad for the USA.

The finding also sheds light on previously unnoticed connections between Mr Romney’s involvement in the private sector, government and campaign finance.
Imagitas donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Republican Governors’ Association while it was chaired by Mr Romney. A former Imagitas investor and director donates to both Mr Romney and Paul Ryan, who also received thousands of dollars in contributions from his brother Tobin.

For three years from 1995, Tobin Ryan, who is now 47, was a senior manager at Bain & Company, the consulting firm where Mr Romney made his name. Mr Romney was at the time leading Bain Capital, the firm’s investment arm, inside the same Boston headquarters.

In March 1998, Mr Ryan left Bain to become a vice-president at Imagitas. The company had been co-founded by Tom Beecher, another former Bain consultant. Their company secured the $5 million (£3.2 million) from Bain Capital in June 2000. Mr Ryan declined to say if he was involved in the deal. Mr Beecher declined to be interviewed.

n December 2001, Imagitas secured a contract with Wisconsin, whose then-governor, Scott McCallum, was a political ally of Paul Ryan, who is a US congressman for the state. Roger Cross, the administrator of Mr McCallum’s department of motor vehicles at the time, said: “I know Tobin through politics, not business”. Tobin Ryan declined to say whether he had been involved in the Wisconsin deal.

Imagitas announced a similar partnership with Massachusetts in July 2002, shortly before Mr Romney was elected as the state’s Republican governor, and just after Tobin Ryan says that he departed the company. Its work for the state continued for several years under Mr Romney’s governorship. His officials boasted that it saved taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars a year.

Mr Romney’s 2002 financial disclosure form states that he still owned 100 per cent of Bain Capital Investors VI, the fund’s controlling entity, and Bain Capital Inc, their overall parent company. However, the forms did not detail the individual companies, such as Imagitas, in which Bain Capital held investments. New state employees were obliged to prevent conflicts of interest with existing contracts. The following year, he began declaring that his holdings were in a so-called "blind trust" controlled by his lawyer.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 9:31

Ah...the plot sickens, Moonglow....these guys are one-percenters....fat cats.... wheelers & dealers...Wall Street insiders...high rolling, lobbyist-politician types....the beneficiaries of the Bush-Obama bail-outs that they so deplore today....you know...TARP....TARP...TARP....the Ben Dover Blues.

Ben, where are you?

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 9:33

Senator Frist had a blind trust with 20/20 vision....he decided not to run again, once the feds started sniffing around....the story died....was the Frist fix in?....We'll never know.

By: gdiafante on 9/25/12 at 9:38

Loner, the "touchback" signal was indicated because it was an interception. That's how you apply possession. It doesn't matter that time expired, possession had changed. The game should have been over.

That play was the perfect storm. It was not reviewable (dual possession - possession is given to the receiver, period). Except it wasn't dual possession, the ref signaling touchback was correct. The only thing they could have looked at was whether the ball hit the ground. Otherwise, the replay officials (who are not scabs) could have fixed it.

This is not good for the NFL. Instead of being excited about the progression of the season, teams and fans are now wondering if they'll be screwed next. The NFL makes billions just off the TV deal, they can find the money to pay the regular refs, who apparently do actually earn it.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/25/12 at 9:42

HCA (the Frist family fortune) is very corrupt. They currently have a lawsuit settlement in FL for unnecessary cardiac surgeries and a settlement in Chattanooga for buying referrals.

By: Loner on 9/25/12 at 9:57

Is that right, Blanket....no surprise to me.

Well, GD, I know, the word "SCAB" has been known to cause bloodshed....but it is just 4 letters long, like REFS & SUCKS....the 12-letter, 3-word sign is very effective.

My dad was a union man and he and his cronies used the term to describe strike-breaking non-union workers...it's an old term and it fits, IMO...does it still have power?....we shall see....if I use such signage at a Bills game, I had better wear Carhatts, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and a hard hat....some scab-lovers may be in the stands....or the owner's goons might decide to have a talk with me.
