[Placing art in the future SoBro roundabout is] the plan it sounds, and we already have [Musica at the Music Row roundabout] without any major traffic issues. It just took some getting use to, and I imagine the same for the new roundabout is true.

Many large cities have these roundabouts without [safety] issues, like Columbus Circle in New York City or Dupont Circle, among many others, in Washington, D.C.

I think this is a great idea as far as providing a link between the Gulch and SoBro. However, I think the biggest hurdle to further development there would be the proximity of the Nashville Rescue Mission. I am not sure that anyone is going to want to build a hotel with a rather large homeless shelter across the road when there are so many other available locations.

brrrrk: "Sexual Harassment thru Intimidation". Isn't that the new title of, "College Girls Gone Wild IX", I've been waiting for?

By: brrrrk on 12/28/10 at 2:57

dargent7,

No, you're thinking of "Sexual Harassment thru Inebriation"....

Pedophilia is taboo, illegal and repugnant in our culture but in other cultures it's fine... just like having multiple wives... and other considerations along the scale of sexually acceptability in society. I don't know why you feel the need to argue with me on this unless you are arguing that a guy taking it up the chute from another guy is a civil right. I've said I'm fine with gay marriage. I just don't think it should be shoved onto our society buy a minority of radical activists and the courts.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

It was illegal at one time for whites to married outside their color? Now it is legal and it is in the open. Now what is the difference in same sex marriages and mixed marriages?

brrrk-

Plus we have yogi and sidiot.

Nimrod,

I can accept you are a brilliant man, because you say you are. My question is; Where in the Hell did you get that mush in your skull between your ears? Out of the barn, or chicken house?

Nemo,

Now don't you dare go after yogi (even though he took the first shot) or he'll start with the "poor me" and the crocodile tears. :-)

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 3:33

Now that just goes to show how stupidly you are yogi. I never said that I was. It must be the deficiency of your half brain power.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 3:37

Sorry brrrk you was not fast enough. lol

By: brrrrk on 12/28/10 at 3:42

I'm yogi,

Waaa, waaa, waaa, the poor liberals are beating up on me. :-)

Thanks for the links brrrk.

quit lying to the people, brrrrk.

You sure ain't me, by no stretch of any imagination. And as for crying? The only time I cry is when losing a loved one. Otherwise, I simply consider the source of the instigation and ignore the ignorance of the speaker. What category would you qualify in?

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 4:25

That is true, brrrk is intelligent. yogi not.

By: bfra on 12/28/10 at 4:25

yogi - Otherwise, I simply consider the source of the instigation and ignore the ignorance of the speaker.

That is just another claim, that you don't do, ever!

My God yogi, did I actually fool someone into thinking I was you? Who out there thought I was yogi?

:-)

By: bfra on 12/28/10 at 4:30

Hi Nemo! Hope you had a good trip & enjoyed Christmas. All my family got here, even thru the snow.

By: bfra on 12/28/10 at 4:32

brrrrk - Only 2 posters, might mistake you for yogi and yogi is one of them. Bet you can guess the other. LOL

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 4:38

That is great to hear bfra; I am glade that you and your family got here and safe too.

My trip was uneventful and the snow was plenty on the ground but not on the highways. We had a few snow showers, but nothing to cause trouble. It just made it look like Christmas as the song goes.

What I could see and here it looked like the father south had it worse.

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 4:42

nimrod2... oh, excuse me, please. I meant brrrrk. You stated I "took the first shot". Did Nimrod1 mean something complimentary or complementary in his remark about me and "sidiot"?

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 4:44

bfra-

yogi always gives himself more power than he has. It is do to half of is brain being missing and the other half is constipated.

By: bfra on 12/28/10 at 4:46

Read where it got South into the citrus growing region, but that has been happening for several winters now. Daughter went back to Atlanta last nite and it was about the same as here.

s/h/b What I could see and hear.....

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 4:47

brrrrk,

I know you aren't me, and I hope you know you aren't me so why did you use my name as you?

Nemo simply said, "Plus we have yogi and sidiot." OUCH yogi, how painful a comment! I'm surprised you didn't have a heart attack!!! Did you go tell someone?

How about you tell me exactly what you "thought" Nemo implied....

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 4:48

Half brains get confused so easily.

By: bfra on 12/28/10 at 4:49

Nemo - 1 good explanation! lol

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 4:51

bfra-

I have been in Atlanta when it snowed. It causes havoc on the traffic.

By: brrrrk on 12/28/10 at 4:52

Yogi,

Seriously, you and bud, A.K.A. sidiot, are two of a feather. You're (meant collectively) the first to take a pot shot and then are the first to cry foul when someone takes a shot back. As they say, man up......

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 4:58

brrrrk,

I have no idea what he intentionally implied. Ask Him. It's common sense to wonder what they mean when someone uses your name, especially remembering some of the negative comments they've made before.

By: brrrrk on 12/28/10 at 5:04

yogiman said

"I have no idea what he intentionally implied."

So, you had no idea what was implied, but decided to take a shot regardless? Just because Nemo just MIGHT have implied something that MIGHT have offended you in spite of the fact that you had absolutely NO IDEA what was meant?

You're a perfect candidate for an anti-global warming, birther researcher.... they don't need facts either.

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 5:07

Excuse me, brrrrk.

Where did I take the "first shot" at any of you posters? Did I misread you when you (meaning several of you) made negative comments about some posts I made?

By: brrrrk on 12/28/10 at 5:12

yogi's post @ 3:23

"Nimrod,

This must have been of love tap.....

Nimrod,

I can accept you are a brilliant man, because you say you are.
*****************************************************************Yes I would like to know where I made that remark. It does not count if it comes from yogi’s half brain.

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 5:17

brrrk,

Simply put, just use what little brain you have inside your skull. When someone mentions your name as loosely as Nimrod has been using mine, I sure couldn't see him making a positive comment in my favor,. Could you?

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 5:20

By the way, have you heard about Obama thinking of giving Manhattan back to the Native Indians?

By: Captain Nemo on 12/28/10 at 5:21

Well first of all yogi, you have never made any positive post for me to make positive remarks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I read something in Paranoia Magazine about it. Is that where you got that information, yogi?

By: yogiman on 12/28/10 at 5:55

No. I got it from a news channel.

By: gdiafante on 12/28/10 at 8:31

Yogi's a certifiable idiot. Just ignore him and he will go shit himself...nope...too late. I hope he uses depends.

By: BenDover on 12/28/10 at 9:28

Glad you're home safe from Icey roads in Atlanta... that's a total b*tch to deal with.

Richmond, VA is the perfect example of how to do this in a safe and responsible manner, respecting both the driving and pedestrian public. Monument Avenue is strewn with historic monuments honoring significant figures in the history of the city. As these occur at major intersections, "roundabouts" are created as cars have to navigate around the monuments. The difference there lies in the fact that many, many years ago, the city's planners recognized that true, unregulated "roundabouts" in these various intersections would only create chaos and dangerous environments for everyone. Therefore, these intersections are regulated by traffic lights to keep them safer for all parties. Their approach functions extremely well, even during peak rush hour traffic periods.

The exact opposite is the case with the Music Row "roundabout". Just drive thru there during the afternoon rush hour and enjoy the log jams created by the traffic backups, but be careful as you are surrounded by danger. This chaos will only expand with any other ones our "planners" deem to be appropriate. It's in the best interests of the public, that these intersections be regulated by traffic lights.
