You gotta carry that weight

It appears a lot of weight is placed on the newly elected President, and the greatest stress test is billed as the "First 100 Days." President Obama started getting excoriated by the rank and file GOP within Day 30, and certainly by Day 50. Rush Limbaugh wanted him to "fail" before Day 60.

By April 20, he's closing in on his 100-day report card, and by all Republican accounts, he will get a failing grade across the board. I think they'll even give him a "F" in gym.

It seems to me a more fair approach to critiquing a new President is a time frame of one year. Especially if he or she follows a "two-termer," as Obama has. The momentum of the actions the prior administration has accomplished or ruined, will overtake the new administration for a lot longer span than 100 days.

It took GW Bush almost his entire first term to destroy Bill Clinton's budget surplus. And halfway thru his second term to ruin America's reputation around the world with needless invasions and wars, the sanctioning of torture, unwarranted wiretaps and infringing on American rights.

To be fair, give Obama more time to flex his political skills and show America the true leader they overwhelmingly voted for.

You're welcome, Nemo. What did I do?

By: slacker on 4/20/09 at 1:46

I think my silhouette cowboy in the front yard, is oh so chic.

By: house_of_pain on 4/20/09 at 1:47

You're welcome. What did I do? Or should I ask?

By: house_of_pain on 4/20/09 at 1:49

Sorry for the double post. Didn't realize we went to a new page.
I'm yelling at the monitor, "Why isn't this showing up?!"

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 1:52

I started a used furniture business. It is called the House of Cheap. lol

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 1:55

Maybe the new page will confuse idgaf and keep him from posting anymore. :-)

By: house_of_pain on 4/20/09 at 1:59

At least you're not stealing the commode I keep around back, Nemo.

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 2:04

I don't do plumbing. Your safe!!

By: Loner on 4/20/09 at 2:18

I can't pull a U-Haul with my bike. I'm not intimidated by Southerners. Bikers have that "just passin' through" look. They won't mess with old Loner, scrawny silver-beards do not represent a threat, we're assumed to be past the breeding age. The men feel that their women are safe from being seduced by a silver-beard. They tend to forget, "Chicks dig scrawny pale guys". And the ED remedies.

Thanks, Bishop Dargent, for the compliment, I owe it all to those Felician nuns who worked me over during my deformative years. Reading, writing, arithmetic, religion and lots of singing and praying - in English, Polish and Latin. No gym. No shop. No nonsense. Imagine, K-9 in three rooms, three grades per room.

There were advantages to this set-up, by the time that one reached the highest grade in the room, one had been exposed to the material twice before - vicariously. One could also listen -in on the lessons being presented to the kids in the grades below you, as a refresher course. We turned a negative into a positive in my now defunct Alma Mater.

Discipline was strictly maintained.

I guess the mass migration to the South is because of the cold weather. Oh!! i forgot ,it couldn't be that since you can't get out of the house for fear of being shot by one of your Left Wing Nuts. Oh! I forgot again they wouldn't own a gun. I guess that is something to ponder. Or better yet a famous quote " Frankly My Dear I don't give a D**M "

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 2:44

u62bbs has never gotten out of their ubee chair.

I have visited the north and worked in the north some. My late wife is from the north.

It is nothing like what this fruit cake of the south think it to be.

By: u62bbs on 4/20/09 at 2:49

Got under your skin eh Nemo? The truth hurts or better yet another famous quote
" You couldn't handle the Truth"

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 2:57

Now if look at howu62bbs twisted mind works, you can see why people think that the southern people have no branches on the family tree.

First it the wild statement......I guess the mass migration to the South is because of the cold weather. Then like turning on a switch it say............Oh!! i forgot ,it couldn't be that since you can't get out of the house for fear of being shot by one of your Left Wing Nuts.

Now I wonder how u62bbs think that if people can't get out of thier homes can there be a mass migration.

Then it post this stupid declartion.....Oh! I forgot again they wouldn't own a gun. I guess that is something to ponder.

Now what does this have to do with mass migration?

The last is really just swell....Or better yet a famous quote " Frankly My Dear I don't give a D**M "

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 3:01

First you would have to do something to get under my skin.

All you have done is to show your inbreeding.

By: dargent7 on 4/20/09 at 3:05

Loner: You going to that swankey 3*Star extravaganza The Tennessean throws every time a Democrat wins the White House? I'm taking Dooley as my date, but I hear the tables hold 8. We need 6 other "live ones". Well, only 4 more, since I was chosen to bring the hookers. I think Admiral Nemo would be a good addition. He hates the GOP more than I. Like to invite some dames from this forum to sit with us but cannot distinguish men from women by their e-mail addresses and the content of their posts. What the hell, in Tenn. we're just all one big happy family.
Oh, and hopefully, we can get the concealed weapons law in place so the right wing nuts feel safe and secure bringing their machine guns into a restaurant. Should be a scene out of "Good Fellas".

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 3:06

I wonder if Donny whats its name just posted? Act like him.

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 3:10

dargent, I don't hate the GOP. It is just for the fact they are infeasted with rats, that bothers me.

By: brrrrk on 4/20/09 at 3:14

Captain Nemo said,

"A Yankee with a U-Haul headed south means that the south will get smarter. lol"

Here's one for you,

What do you call a Yankee with a U-Haul headed South?

Answer: A manager.

By: Captain Nemo on 4/20/09 at 3:18

Yes brrrk, that is another good one. u62bbs must the floor sweeper.

By: shenanigan on 4/20/09 at 3:39

got give President Obama credit he is doing such a wonderful job, only fault I have in him is not going after those who waterboarder I would like to see them have there day in court all the way up including Cheney and Bush. both of them are affraid to travel overseas .They are arrest warrant for them. would we go to war against a country who acted and made the arrests.

If the Republican wanted to keep their party base they could make take it to the public voters and gain votes from the democrats, in place trying to have a stand of NO will get them nowhere. All the rightie are waiting for Rush to tell them when and where and how to act

Statement heard at the tea parties...

He said with a dazed, confused look on his face, "Huh... what... we lost?!?!?!. When did that happen???"
