Clean out the cabinet

The attacks on Nancy Pelosi by the Republicans trying to make an issue of statements she made saying that the CIA did not inform her of details of water boarding and other methods of so-called enhanced interrogation being used to illicit information from detainees is nothing but a diversionary tactic to shift attention away from the everyday unfolding events of the crimes of the Bush administration.

To this point it looks like Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzales and maybe even Colin Powell, were all complicit in secret and un-American and illegal activities.

Some Republicans are demanding Pelosi resign, accusing her of lying to the CIA which cannot be proved. One thing we do know is that the CIA has lied to Congress in the past regarding WMDs, Yellow cake, etc. In the face of this, I will accept what Pelosi says and not the CIA unless they can document it.

I might also note that Republicans have a history of playing the game of diversionary tactics when the water gets hot for them, but the difference now is that the electorate has had eight years of nothing but lies and criminal activity from them and are not quite as gullible as they used to be.

It seems that the more that is divulged, the more it looks that the whole Bush cabinet were liars and criminals and should be prosecuted.

We have no business in the car business or any other kind of business.

Barry is trying to control more and more of our lives and spending us into poverty.

By: eastnashville37207 on 6/2/09 at 4:05

The Democraps also know that Nancy with the lying eyes was lying through her teeth. She, on numerous times said one lie after another so who's drinking the kool-aid Clouse.

Crimes from the Bush administration is getting pretty old as these are all crime from the Obama administration that is filled with his Chicago thugs. This country is in the worst shape it's ever been now because of Obama and the tax payers are getting raped daily because of this Clown Posy in the White House.

Wasn't Obama who said anyone earning less than $250,000 wouldn't have to worry about taxes increasing Clouse? Is the Clouse Clown Posy Party ignorant enough to think Obama was telling the truth.

Can't blame this mess on Bush Clouse, this is OBAMA'S failure and he gets an A+ for bankrupting this country. Clouse you are as pathetic as the Clown Posy Party you support.

By: dooley on 6/2/09 at 4:47

Boy! Barry has sure wrecked this country in just four months hasn't he ? In reality he has shown more direction and dignity than we have seen over the last eight years . You had better wake up Id .

Clouse>> This has to be the worst letter ever sent in to this paper. Trying to justify anything Nancy Peeloser is saying or doing is about as stupid as when Pres. Nixon said he was not a crook.
You need to investigate just some of the things Peeloser has done since she has been speaker of Congress.
She is flying around the country in her government issued plane and not the one that is supplied for , but a special one that costs the taxpayers $300,000 dollars a flight from San Francisco to Washington . She refused the one that is supplied to her position, because she said it would not accomodate all of her cronies that she wanted to fly back and forth with her.
Also when they raised the minimum wage to $7.45 an hour she had her largest contributor Star Kist Tuna exempted from this tax, because her husband owns a large amount of stock in the co.
By the way that co. hires 75% Samoan labor and she had a huge chunk of money earmarked for the Samoan country.

By: daKine7 on 6/2/09 at 7:14

2476: Out of curiosity, where was your outrage when GW Bush, Co., & Friends launched a full scale invasion, war, and now, occupation of Iraq?
You arm-chair geniuses all of a sudden are getting vocal and motivated.
For eight long years you sat idle and silent. Now, 6 months into a new administration, you cannot control yourselves. It's a little, too late.

By: 2476 on 6/2/09 at 7:24

dakine>> That is what I like about ultra liberals, when you present them with facts and truths, they cannot handle them.
Oh by the way Peeloser's husband is a billionaire and he takes those free flights with Nancy and her group of cronies that are sticking it to the taxpayers.
Back when Clinton was in office and he left this country unprotected from terroists and was only concerned with cigars and interns , you kept saying that it happened a while back.\Well everything now is in Obammy's lap and it is his baby, because all this now that is being blamed on Bush happened a while back.

By: Dragon on 6/2/09 at 7:26

Pelosi lied about what she knew and when she knew it. Her statement that the CIA lied to congress during those briefing must be challanged. Lying to congress is illegal. It is especially serious if the CIA is lying to congress.

But, either she doesn't think it is any big deal or is just too lazy to do anything about it. Of course, the most apparent reason is that they did not lie, she did.

By: 2476 on 6/2/09 at 7:31

daKine>> She keeps yelling the word "corrupt " when she refers to former Pres. Bush, i was just wondering how do spell the word "hipocrit" when you mention Peeloser, and also the word "liar".

By: CAH on 6/2/09 at 7:34

Dooley, where ya been?

1. Documentation as to what Pelosi was briefed on has already been provided. When it was, she changed her story - many times.

2. Saying it is a diversion is silly. Both have things to explain. It's not an either/or situation; because...

3. All politicians lie.

By: 2476 on 6/2/09 at 7:54

Peeloser holding the next spot just under the VP shows just how dangerous this woman can be with the assanine statements spewing from her mouth. Her next proposal will be to try and legalize some 15,000,000,000 million illegals, just for the sole purpose of buying their votes. Way to be a good Democrap.

By: Citizen on 6/2/09 at 7:55

C.W.Clouse: God help you. What kind of mind can come up with the things you write in your letter? I'll bet you even believe Obama when he says he doesn't want to run GM!

By: daKine7 on 6/2/09 at 7:59

2476 & Dragon: And what I like about the rank 'n file GOP is their "pick 'n choose" morality, ethics, and reality series. GW Bush & Co. invaded the WRONG country for TWO reasons: retaliation for 9/11 (displaced) and vengence for daddy's mistakes.
Oh, a third reason: OIL. The entire USA is bogged down in an endless war, not unlike Vietnam, over the CIA's false "intel". This lie has cost 4,305 US soldier's lives and $1. trillion. The USA has ZERO credibility in the world over this catastrophic blunder.
And you want to castigate Pelosi? It's small potatoes in comparison. She's Speaker of the House. Big freekin' deal.
An irrelevant post in relation to the President.
And scum-bag Newt Gingrich, disgraced and resigned, was having his own love affair while married when he went after Bill Clinton. Now, that's hypocricy.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/2/09 at 8:02

Good morning.

It is 8:00 and Dooley's letter has overturned the rock where the Bush bugs live.

This will be a fun day.

By: daKine7 on 6/2/09 at 8:05

CAH: Who cares about "what Pelosi knew, and when did she know it"?
Where was your rath when GW Bush & Co. invaded the wrong country? Oh, the CIA had given Bush false "intel". Hardly. Those guys did a "murder 1" caper and you are all up and arms about a jaywalking or seat belt violation by Pelosi. Get your priorities straight.

By: oyharward on 6/2/09 at 8:05

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been responding to her questions concerning whether or not she was informed on the CIA activity is as if Speaker Pelosi was on drugs, alcohol, and/or some other mind drifting substance for an explanation. To my knowledge, there is no evidence of any illegal abuse. There must be something medically and/or politically wrong with Speaker Pelosi, as so many others, even fellow Democrats say she was there, and informed, as reported. Surely, Speaker Pelosi would not just out and out lie, or would she? Her own fellow Democrat members are saying so. It is as Mr. C.W. Clouse should take his head out of the sand, stand up, look forward, and move forward, after he observes and maintains what may be on either his left or right side.

By: sidneyames on 6/2/09 at 8:06

If Pelosi is breathing, she is lying. You can look at her body language and her eyes to see that. And her back tracking and shucking and jiving. I think CIA documents and war-related information should be released on a "need to know" basis and the whole world, especially our enemies, don't need to know. And if Obama can afford those jet-set dates on our tax payer dollars, then the economy must be great! At least from his perspective!

By: 2476 on 6/2/09 at 8:12

dakine>> Well one thing about Newt Gingrich, he never used the taxpayers money when he was the speaker, as he flew back and forth to D.C. on commercial flightsAnd what i like about the rank and file of the Democraps is that they are labeled tax and spenders.
It is bad that their has been lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan, but a life is a life and what about the murders in Chicago alone during this period of time it is over 3 times this number.
How many lives has been lost since the savior took offrice, you forgot to mention that. Also how he has esculated the war in Afghanistan by sending additional troops there. His campaign promise was to end our participation in these middle east wars, which now he refuses to talk about.
How can you even compare the cost of over 9 years in Iraq and it costing 1 trillion dollars, when the savior has spent over 7 times that amount in 4 months. Plese explain that.

By: girliegirl on 6/2/09 at 8:12

I've figured out the Pelosi secret: you know how we mom's "tune out" kids who are crying and bickering and such? Well, that's what she was doing at the briefing! Think about it: she's sitting there, the men are droning on and on and on...she's thinking about all the legislation she needs to propose/pass/write and she never HEARD what they said. Husbands do this all the time! Swear! And now she can't confess to having done that because various groups will behead her for doing it in the first place, and they'll claim she does it during other critical meetings. It's a no win situation she's in.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/2/09 at 8:14

BTW, what ever happen to the spoiles of war Chaney and Haliburton got?

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/2/09 at 8:23

Look no matter if you think what was done during the Bush Administration was criminal or not, you have to admit that Pelosi lied. That is a fact which is irrefutable.

Any one who refuses to admit this is simply lying to themselves.

By: 2476 on 6/2/09 at 8:24

Cap Nemo>> they used the money they got to help Hillary to finish covering up the White water fiasco and to help to pay for the boondoggles that Baracky and Michele take when they slip out of the White House and fly to New York to see a play and wine and dine on taxpayers expense.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/2/09 at 8:27

Girliegirl,

So instead of her lying, you're claiming gross negligence in that she wasn't doing her job when she was supposed to because she "tuned them out".

Ok...I guess I could buy that...but it still doesn't excuse her of her actions.

By: Captain Nemo on 6/2/09 at 8:27

girliegirl has a very good point. Now what did you say? lol

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/2/09 at 8:31

daKine,

"Where was your rath when GW Bush & Co. invaded the wrong country? Oh, the CIA had given Bush false "intel". Hardly. Those guys did a "murder 1" caper and you are all up and arms about a jaywalking or seat belt violation by Pelosi. Get your priorities straight."

So let me get this straight: You don't care that Pelosi knew what was going on...but want to go after President Bush because he followed "false Intel" from the CIA (the ones who GIVES intel to the President on a daily basis)?

And you're telling someone else to get their priorities straight???

Look, if you're going to go after the CIA, President Bush, et al - then you'd better be ready to go after almost everyone in the House and Senate...INCLUDING Pelosi. Otherwise, let it go.

By: pandabear on 6/2/09 at 8:34

girliegirl:
Are you implying that men "tune out" women when the talk ?

That's outrageous !

...you said something else too...now, what was it ...?

By: pandabear on 6/2/09 at 8:35

chief:
You mean Bush did do these things, but we need to nail
the "underling" first before we go after the big boys ?

2476 - According to the news this morning, Pelosi & Co. will give the vote to everybody in the U.S. regardless of citizenship.

D7 - Bush made a lot of mistakes and I've mentioned them in these pages. Contrary to your belief, Iraq wasn't invaded because of the things you falsely accuse. He never said Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. In fact, he specifically said it wasn't. Retaliation for his father's mistakes? Not even close. Oil? Come on, if it had been for oil, we would have been awash in it by 2004. Bush invaded Iraq because of their continued violation of U.N. sanctions and for firing on our planes who were enforcing those sanctions.

Even top Democrats are starting to bang Pelosi... Ooops! The vision that comment brings is just plain WRONG!!

If the repubs. have any hope of winning back seats in the mid-term elections, they need dear Nancy exactly where she is.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/2/09 at 9:21

Slacker,

I do have to agree...she's the poster child for NOT voting for Democrats in the next election. If Democrats want to win, their only hope is to lose Pelosi as Speaker. Of course doing that will cause them to lose face now.

Tough decision for them...lose face now and have it forgotten later OR keep Pelosi and hope she'll keep her mouth shut for a year.

By: pandabear on 6/2/09 at 9:21

Very slick, slacker, but true (grasshopper).

...although, it's a bit embarassing that their hopes are
pinned on that.

What if the things Obama is doing are good for the country ?

Gasp, how horrible would that be for them ?

...and (chief, this is for you..) Nancy might become a pin-up doll...

By: Captain Nemo on 6/2/09 at 9:25

You make it sound so easy, slacker.

"If the repubs. have any hope of winning back seats in the mid-term elections, they need dear Nancy exactly where she is."

There are at less two Big Speed Bump in the way. Limbaugh and Chaney. This two are representing the GOP.

By: slacker on 6/2/09 at 9:32

By: Captain Nemo on 6/2/09 at 9:36

"If the repubs. have any hope of winning back seats in the mid-term elections, they need dear Nancy exactly where she is."

This was all the Republicans had to worry about. That sounded easy to me.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/2/09 at 9:42

Panda,

"although, it's a bit embarassing that their hopes are pinned on that."

As opposed to the Democrats hopes being pinned on what President Bush's rating were?

"What if the things Obama is doing are good for the country?"

All well and good...but that probably won't help this Congress with the lowest approval rating in my lifetime. As for how would that be for Republicans, I'm sure it wouldn't make their day...but it would the rest of the country, IF it turned out good for the country.

"..and (chief, this is for you..) Nancy might become a pin-up doll..." Oh you are SOOOO cruel! EW!
