Bad diagnosis
Blue Dog Democrats are to be commended for finally saying “wait” to the liberal Pelosi-Obama juggernaut on health care. Getting it right seems to be much less important to the House and White House than getting it through.
Details matter in trillion-dollar undertakings that will dramatically impact every American. What’s the rush? Eventually, other people’s money runs out, so evaluating the real costs of the health care plan and making informed decisions about the hard choices is the minimum to avoid political malpractice.
Why not give people time to read the bill and understand what the 53 commissions are going to do? Wasn’t ‘transparency’ a campaign promise of the guy who is fond of saying, “I won?” Have you noticed the increased number of federally originated health care public service announcements on broadcast media? Is the Big Brother Nanny State here?
The autocrats are preparing you for them making decisions about your life.
The auto insurance market has functioned well with state mandated minimums and upgrades that people can choose at their discretion. If everyone had to buy a minimum health care plan managed by a private or non-profit insurance carrier, our current system would work much better.
Safeway [Supermarkets] employees have a miraculous health care plan helps them make informed choices about their health, wellness and health care providers. There are lots of models and options that work better than the current system, but none involve single payers.
Canadian health care only works because well-off Canadians can come here conveniently when the need arises. Above all, there is no need to rush into a bad decision when a better one is within reach.

If they cannot run medicaid/care properly what makes people think they can manage the rest of us?
Where are we going to get the doctors for the extra 40 million they are claiming we have (includeing illegals) that in itself will create rationing not even counting the increased usage of the "FREE" care.
Barry don't have a clue unless of course his goal is to turn us into a socialist country.
Think about it health care is 1/6 th of the economy and he already controls 2 car companies, insurance companys, banks, brokerage firms. The government is the problem not the solution.
The morons spend trillions without even reading what they are voteing on. Even barry don't know whats in this bill.. Who the **** wrote it?
This could be called the Killing Bill funding abortions and encoraging seniors to off themselves for the good of society/the collective.

Medicare spends 15% on administrative costs, private insurance spends 31%. Which is more efficient?
And it's funny how the reich-wingers never complain about the inefficiencies of government run imperialism and war, even though Rumsfeld said the war would last less than 6 months and here we are going into year six.

Hey, I hear that position on Belmont Ave. has an opening. The one where your job description is to grab as many woman's buttocks in an hour as you can. Minimum wage, but the benefits are killer.
Medicare is no longer self sufficient and pays more than it collects. The feds are faced with paying back the trust fund they spent. Rather than repay the "loan", they are looking to refinance with new and bigger taxes.
Bless old Conyers for his honesty. Why bother reading the bills since you don't have time and would need two lawyers to tell you what you read? They depend on others to tell them what is in the bill(s). Don't you think that this is important enough to read, study, and debate?
Off-Topic: What's wrong with Obama's Beer Summit? Three guys sitting around a picnic table ironing out their differences versus Prof. Gates filing a lawsuit. Maybe they won't solve the racial divide in America, but it's a good idea for diffusing this particular situation.
Admistravive cost are low because they pay at or near cost. They don't have to negotiate they make the rules and set the fees.
That is why private insurance has risen so dramatically.
This scheme is just another way to get some more money in as Dragon mentioned.
Furthermore it is yet another way to control the masses.
The problem with any government run entity is oversight. Never enough, yet if you try, the "no regulation" nuts start whining.
It sounds like a good idea, but solving problems in an efficient and low-key manner doesn't create exciting news headlines.
They could solve the entire problem for a cost of $1 per person and make it the most efficiently run system in the world, and there would be tea parties protesting those 100 cents...book it.
The Gates/Crowley incident is already diffused. The facts show what happened and no one is disputing it.
Obama is trying to take his foot out of his mouth without admitting he was wrong while at the same time trying to appear to be a healer of racial conflict. This is purely public relations.

Conyers, in a rare moment of honesty admitted that he hadn't read it, wouldn't read it, and wasn't capable of understanding it if he actually tried to read it! id, guess who administers medicaid/medicare? not the government...the private insurance companies do. so if it's mismanaged, that's why. they are paid a subsidy by the government to administer medicaid/medicare.

Simple, everyone gives me a dollar and they keep the insurance they now have. Those that don't have insurance can go to Canada...after they give me a dollar. Done.
