Hey, negative Nate
Just let me know if Larry Woody is able to say something positive about NASCAR? Just once?
I got tired of major league baseball once and quit watching it. I felt better about it..... Maybe Larry needs to do the same with NASCAR and let the rest of us enjoy it.
Come to think of it I might take my own advice and quit reading his articles.

dwilso: If you hang out here enough, you'll find us all to be idiot savants. Kinda like Steven Hawkin w/o the wheelchair.
Yeah, that couldn't have been it, Mama...lol
BigMama: Right you are. Ole' GW Bush himself was reading "My Pet Goat" to 4th graders...kinda a stretch for him but...the Chief of Staff Andy Card had to come in the room TWICE to tell "The Chimp" the USA was under attack. He still sat there. Clueless.
Chief, see my earlier dissertation on how parents indoctrinate their children. You've given us sufficient evidence to state with certainty that you have no respect for the President if he is not of your party.
Even if you don't directly teach that to them, they observe it and though they might not understand that it's there, it is.

dwils, that question was asked many years ago. catch up, will ya?"
LOL Mama!

"As for him listening, that I cannot enforce."
He's a teenager? It's genetically impossible for him to listen.
Kosh,
Well, I'll agree with you there! LOL
Gdia,
"You've given us sufficient evidence to state with certainty that you have no respect for the President if he is not of your party."
Well, since I am not of either major party, then to make your statement accurate, I would have to teach them not to respect anyone in DC.
"Even if you don't directly teach that to them, they observe it and though they might not understand that it's there, it is."
Hummm...you mean to question authority? But I thought liberals thought that was a GOOD thing.
"Well, since I am not of either major party..."
Sorry, I don't think anyone believes that but you. Can you say denial?
"But I thought liberals thought that was a GOOD thing."
Thank you for proving my point. Game. Set. Match.
Per the LTE.... C'mon folks, did you really think that NASCAR was going to hold on to it's audience forever? It was a fad, and as a fad has run it's course. Besides, how long did you think it was going to take for people to figure out that it's mostly the same old guys, driving the same old cars, making mostly left turns?
Brrrrk....mostly left turns? LOL
You nailed it though, it was a fad. But I would wish that fad upon hockey...not looking good for that sport...lockout looming that would kill the Preds...I think they're going to end up contracting and moving several teams to Canada. Very sad...
Gdia,
"Sorry, I don't think anyone believes that but you. Can you say denial?"
Well gee, I'm all broken up you don't believe me. What a shame.
"Thank you for proving my point. Game. Set. Match."
To question authority? Why not? If you don't question them, how will you get answers? To be rude to authority? Absolutely not. There IS a difference you know.
brrrrk, I have to disagree with you about it being a fad. It has been around for quite a long time, longer than most fads. My dad actually won a race at Talledega but was disqualified by crooked officials. That was a long time ago, trust me! As long as cars go fast, we will have racing. Not that I watch it or follow it or anything like that. Just sayin'...
Hummm...so Cass Sunstein wants to reset the default from you choosing to allow your organs to be harvested at death to you choosing NOT to allow your organs to be harvested at death. Interesting.

Do I have to explain everything to you, Chief?
Read the posts again and this time pay attention, I've wasted enough time on you already.

"Way to teach respect for our Commander in Chief. Nice."
IMHO, it is mandatory to show respect for the office but it is optional to show respect for the person. To me, that's the American Way.

Mama, brrrk was speaking of the uber popularity of Nascar recently. Being a fan was chic, now that the dust has settled, people realize that it just isn't all that.
I've been to Talledega, saw Petty win a race there in the early '80's...it's fun to watch live just for the atmosphere and the party the night before...those of you who've been know what I'm talking about...lol
Oh, well thanks for clarifying that for me! I get it now, of course!
House, still on for ink tonite?
Blanket, where or where are you, girl?
"Chief, see my earlier dissertation on how parents indoctrinate their children"...
Now that little insight into the mind of a liberal is terrifying.
My concise definition of a liberal gains more clarity with every passing day:
A liberal is someone who has yet to learn that everyone else is not an idiot.
Gdia,
"Read the posts again and this time pay attention, I've wasted enough time on you already."
Sorry, I have already spent enough time reading your posts which were not worth the effort and have other posts I wish to do. So we can simply let it go.
You betcha. I'm leaving work at 1:30.

Frankly I wouldn't blame the Preds (and hockey in general) for moving North. Hockey, and the athletes that play the game, has always been under appreciated in the states... well except in some of our more northern climes and a few odd pockets. Maybe the problem is that unless you strap on a pair of skates and try to do what some of these amazing athletes in Hockey do, you'll never really appreciate what it takes. And this is coming from someone who can take or leave the sport... but I still appreciate the talent.
I'm thinking Biden was just trying to reduce the fears of the economically stable people in this country...not that he was very successful, I would think...mainly because the people aren't unaware of the economy.

Good morning.
A Tell to Tell
Once there were two cavemen, Bendovue and Slackamungus. Each was the leader of his tribe.and both lived in the same valley. Bendovus tribe dealt in commerce. They saw to it that all of the non-commerce tribes would trade with the other tribes. Then Bendovus's tribes would then take a big cut from all of the tribes as payment.
Slackamongus tribe made beer.
Both tribes were conservative and proud of it,
In the next valley over were two tribs lead by Dargentous and Gdiarun'run. Dargentous tribe studied nature for knowledge in heanth and wellness. Gdiarun'run tribe studied nature to see what nature had to offer in the arts and science. They shared that knowledge with the other tribes for a modest price.
Both of these tribes were called liberals.
Then one day a terrible plague came to both valleys. All of the tribes fell on hard times. The conservative became more conservative and the liberals had to conserve, but still manage to share with others.
If you needed help in the conservative valley you first had to Show the Money first. If you did not have it, then you would be sent away.
In the liberal valley you could get help. If you did not have the money, then you could pay later.
Years later the plague came to an end. The conservative valley had been striped of all things. The once green beautiful valley was now a desert.
In the valley of the liberals it was worn and tattered, but still green and the people were well on their way to full recovery.
The End
house you dog, you! I'm leaving at 2:00 but I won't be getting inked today. My mom is still in hospital and I'm sure I'll be going up there when I get off work. I do, however, plan to enjoy a couple brewskis tonight! Seriously, I am jealous but I'm glad for you! LOL
Parrot in the house...anyone have a BB gun?
Ben, I've learned enough from your posts to know you're more like Jim Taggert than Hank Reardon. Sorry buddy.
hi, Mama. been out sick and fighting the flu.

Parrot in the house
a parrot and a table.
Get better Blanket. I'm off to the library with the kiddies.
Nice, neme!
I had that d@mn table nailed down...then gd showed up with a crowbar...
I wonder how many of these parents who are up in arms about Obama's upcoming school speech also let their children surf the internet without concern?
I'm sorry about that, Blanket. (My sis has it too right now.) Nasty, funky stuff. Please take care of yourself. Wrap up in your snuggie, take your drugs and sleep, sleep, sleep. Drink plenty of fluids too! Gatorade works! Feel better sweetie!
I always fashioned myself as Howard Roark, gd.
Hockey & NASCAR combined might work, call it: ''NASCOCKEY''

Have two or more drivers, occasionally jump out of their ride, sling their helmet off, and fight, with referee's somehow never seeing low blows.
Have a 15 min. half-time, with stripper's pole dancing.
I wish they would invite Obama to come to Hume Fogg and speak. I think it would go over well there, IMO.
Hope you feel better soon Blanket.
LOL Slacker! Good ideas!
Let me get this straight....
Obama speaking to kids about working hard and getting a good education... that's indoctrination.
Wanting the public schools to teach the Bible even though there are kids of various faiths in the school... that's NOT indoctrination.
It's a damned funny world we live in.... or at least some of us anyway.
MammaG, dwilso has the nerve to say we don't bring Gravitas to this forum.
Slacker, I love it.... I'll be there with bells on... unless it's cold, then I'll wear more.

Brrrrk,
"Obama speaking to kids about working hard and getting a good education... that's indoctrination."
Um, no...the problem was that Obama was going to speak about how the kids could help HIM...and was then going to push for a curriculum in which they could write down what they were going to do to help him and then be asked later if they followed thru. His speech, as I understand it, has since changed.
"Wanting the public schools to teach the Bible even though there are kids of various faiths in the school... that's NOT indoctrination."
Well, as I understand it, the public schools were already teaching about the Koran..so there was a push to have the bible included. If the Koran were not being taught, then it would be indoctrination.
Why should the bible be banned in school. Unlike Obama, it's an awesome work of literature and arguably a keystone to the foundation of Western Civilization.
Nemo,
"eneral George Patton walks the halls of the VA hospital. He see a sleeping solider on his stomach and notice that his wounds are in the rear end. Patton begains to slap the sleeping solider over and over, calling him a coward for retreating in battle"
Um, as I recall, Patton slapped a soldier who was shell shocked...and didn't have a mark on him that he could see. Further, Patton later apologized for this.
As for getting wounded in the buttocks, that is not too unusual...humiliating, but not unusual.
Ben,
"Why should the bible be banned in school. Unlike Obama, it's an awesome work of literature and arguably a keystone to the foundation of Western Civilization."
Well, my opinion is, if you are going to bring the Koran into schools, or even the theory of evolution, then you'd better be prepared to add the bible too.
