Spares no expense

Remind me not to vacation to Alabama anytime soon. Seems some nut there "loves Sarah Palin so much" she's forking out $63,500 for a four-hour lunch with the former vice presidential candidate.

All of it is going to charity, but knowing Palin, she'll skim a little off the top for "expenses." And of course, stiff the waiter.

Blanket,

Ironic that.

Since if they pass the current bill, you'll go to jail if you DON'T have medical insurance.

Nah, that's nasty. Watching the Titans give up 14 points before even getting the offense on the field is entertaining though.

Or listening to the fans call in and actually want VY to start instead of Collins....LOL Priceless.

By: chakracon on 9/29/09 at 12:40

How much do you nuts fork out for season tickets to see the titans. You think you're a superstar because TCP publishes your letters? I've seen you hateful and viscious towards people who post here... frankly, I hate you.

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 12:40

You use the term "fans" rather loosely...

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 12:44

Chief: You cannot weasel your way out of that question. The woman, Palin, QUIT.
What's with you GOP worshippers? You "Google" and have links from Jimmy Dean sausages to elective brain operations at the Mayo Clinic. You've got an opinion on everything. But, not now?
Jeff Fisher has a contract. The Titans are 0-3, actually 0-5 w/ pre-season. He's being bombarded from all angles. What if he just QUIT? Says, "The job's too hard". Could you comment?
The Pope has a "contract" w/ God (I assume). His job is hard. What if he just QUIT? Could you comment?
QUITTING for personal reasons such as a dying parent, a kid with cancer, she has a disease, nobody would fault her. But going to San Diego for almost two months to churn out a "memoir" in time for the 2010 and 2012 elections, ....well, STINKS.
What. No Comment? You should be in politics.

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 12:46

Frankly Chaka, who cares?

They were calling for VY and some even for Fisher to be fired. Funny how Fisher and Collins were the greatest thing since sliced bread just a month ago. Fickle fans...

Trust me, I know. I praise Tony "oh no!" Romo when he throws 300 yards and then hope he gets traded to Manchester United after the Giants game...lol

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 12:50

Mouton threw the game away & everyone is blaming Collins...WTF?

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 1:02

Probably because of the 16 straight incomplete passes...not all his fault, most were in the hands of the (inept) receivers. Some fault goes to the O-line, who couldn't figure out the blitzes. Then again, the D could have made a stop or two as well.

Most fault goes to Fisher who has known they've needed a WR for YEARS and still likes to go the 'let's keep it close and win it in the 4th' BS.

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 1:04

Who, exactly, does this "chakracon", hate? I don't even hold season tickets to the Titans. I'm a Lion's fan, for Christ's sake. We just won our 1st game in 18 games. She's pissed?

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 1:06

Oh, that's right Darg, congrats for the win. Glad it happened against the Deadskins.

Oh that's another scapegoat for the fans...Chuck Cecil...

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:07

Dargent,

"You cannot weasel your way out of that question. The woman, Palin, QUIT.
What's with you GOP worshippers? You "Google" and have links from Jimmy Dean sausages to elective brain operations at the Mayo Clinic. You've got an opinion on everything. But, not now?"

I don't know enough to comment. If that's not good enough for you, sorry about that. I WASN'T in Alaska and don't have the facts. I don't think she's ready to be President, if that is what you are asking. But then neither is Biden. And neither was McCain. And neither was Obama! I am telling you Hillary was the best option in a race of people who weren't ready. McCain was in second place but didn't have the willpower necessary for the position.

"Jeff Fisher has a contract. The Titans are 0-3, actually 0-5 w/ pre-season. He's being bombarded from all angles. What if he just QUIT? Says, "The job's too hard". Could you comment?"

Depends on why he considered it "too hard". Was it because it was a strain on his family? Was it too mentally hard for him? WHY was it too hard?

"The Pope has a "contract" w/ God (I assume). His job is hard. What if he just QUIT? Could you comment?"

The Pope has the right to quit whenever he wants...a new one will be selected. He can quit for whatever reasons he desires.

"QUITTING for personal reasons such as a dying parent, a kid with cancer, she has a disease, nobody would fault her. But going to San Diego for almost two months to churn out a "memoir" in time for the 2010 and 2012 elections, ....well, STINKS.
What. No Comment? You should be in politics."

And you know for a FACT that she quit to write a book? Seriously? How do you know that? I thought she quit to protect her family and to get away from finance draining ethics probes, none of which found anything legal to work with. So just how do you figure it was the book?

At any rate, to answer your question as best I can, no it is not a deal killer if she decides to run for President someday...not to me. But I still don't think she's ready yet.

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 1:07

Apparently, d7, she hates you.
Like the way I used the word of the day, gd?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 1:08

Dargent, he'd have an opinion if it were a liberal.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 1:09

gee, dargent. chakracon hates you. i know you've got to be torn up about that. LOL

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:12

Blanket,

Really? When did you become psychic, BTW?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 1:13

one doesn't have to be psychic to see your pattern, chief.

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 1:13

She quit in preparation for the run in 2012. If Chief's too dimwitted to understand, who really cares.

oops! Sounds like littlefeather chief pain went berserk and needs some of the meds you guys are passing out.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:23

Gdia,

Not sure if she'll run or not...waiting to see. If she does, I don't think she'll win.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:25

Blanket,

Your ego
Is the size of a flea
And is crushed by me

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 1:25

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:25

sidney,

"oops! Sounds like littlefeather chief pain went berserk and needs some of the meds you guys are passing out."

Guess that means they have a lot of meds...must be some party for them huh.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:26

Blanket,

Having a lot of fun Blanket, Maybe you need to learn to chill too! LOL

You're right on that... Collins was no where near being the reason for the Titans loss. A completed pass takes a quarterback to throw the ball and a receiver to catch it. From what I saw, lots of good throws... not so many good catches. In addition, the offensive line was anemic at best. And as for bringing in Vince Young... LOL... give me a break!

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 1:32

Nazix2.5: I always feel better if I know who "hates" me. And her post 1st rerides some of the boys talking football, talking about their "nuts", then goes into an altered state saying, "I hate you".
It has to be directed at "House" because he can't clean those mouse cages out in the lab worth a dam.

Let me see if I can answer this as you would dargent... Anyone with half a brain would see that I'm talking about your fat ass. I hate everything you write, I hate everything you stand for, I hate the way you treat other people that disagree with you. I hate you period.

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 1:41

You're right brrrk. Collins was pretty much on his own in the 4th. But, they end up 0-4 or 0-5, I guarantee that VY will get in the game. Then he'll do ok, win a game or two and the media will claim a QB controversy.

I can see it a mile away.

By: MamaG on 9/29/09 at 1:42

Hate is such a strong word.

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 1:43

Chief: I watch Palin talk about as much as I listened to anything Bush was saying, or now, Glenn Beck. NOTHING.
But, I watched Palin's "press conference" when she announced quitting, sounded important, and she had ZERO reasons.
So, then, she flys her entire family to San Diego during August to huddle w/ her writers. And, low and behold, a book hitting the stands by Thanksgiving. She didn't know IN ADVANCE what her plans were? Whatever she's selling to America sells, and Harper-Collins knows it. 1.5 million 1st edition.
Why's she in Hong Kong? If being governer of Alaska was so "political" and stressfull, she's appearing everywhere. I bet you $1.00 she's running for some office soon, and damn well know's it.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:46

Dargent,

If she runs for President, I think it would be a mistake. While I think she might have potential, I just don't think she could win...UNLESS she had to run against the incumbent and things didn't improve. I think no matter who the GOP candidate is, if they have to run against Obama and things aren't any better, it wouldn't matter who was the candidate.

Now if she tries to run as an independent, I doubt she'd win period, IMO.

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 1:48

Chakra: I'm 6'3" and 217#. My "ass" isn't fat. Let us all in on your dimensions.

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 1:50

Chief: OK., thank's for the discourse. We'll shelf the discussion for another time.
But, I have to attend to a rabid bitch, nipping at my heels.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 1:52

Dargent,

Wow...do you have a new dog or something that you have to get spade?

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 1:53

Back and forth they go
chakracon and dargent7
Love is in the air

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 1:54

Oops, too many syllables in line 2...my bad.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 1:55

spade? that's a playing card. perhaps you mean "spayed"?

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 2:00

House,

So this is nothing new?

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 2:01

Blanket,

My bad...got distracted by something. Yes, spayed.

But apparently that WASN'T what he was talking about. LOL

By: house_of_pain on 9/29/09 at 2:02

You mean me screwing up a haiku?
Nope, nothing new there.

By: MamaG on 9/29/09 at 2:02

house, in the south that could be said in the right amount of syllables.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 2:06

lol, Mama! good point. 8~)

By: dargent7 on 9/29/09 at 2:10

You know folks, I really look forward to TCP's "on-line" posts, Mon.-Fri.
But, maybe it's the water in Tenn., but someof these "posters" are downright mean spirited, off their collective rockers, or just plain nuts.
My LTE was so simple. A topic in the news.
And the "tribal council", the "elders" of Nashville, have gone beserk.
Last week it was threats of litigation. Today, someone is proud of hate speech.
"Chief" and I can go at it for days on end, but in the end, we can agree to disagree.
Why some posters feel this forum is "personal" and an affront to their God, religion, beliefs, and therefore, come out saying, "Go to Hell", and "I hate you", is beyond me.
I am from Detroit, and we do overturn police cars, set them on fire, when we loose games and go into the stands and attack fans. Hey, you try living in Detroit.
But, we shake hands at the end, if you are still alive. We say, "I'm sorry".
Some of these "members" may want to take a page from our playbook.

Nazix2: Too late. I had 2 pair and didn't remember if that beat a Full House.

Blanket, people use the heart symbol all the time.
Why not incorporate the other suits of the deck as well?
I (spade) My Dog
I (club) My Wife

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/29/09 at 2:17

house, i really did laugh out loud at that one!

By: gdiafante on 9/29/09 at 2:19

No wonder she spent a few minutes looking for you when you text her.

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 2:21

Dargent,

"I am from Detroit, and we do overturn police cars, set them on fire, when we loose games and go into the stands and attack fans."

You turn over cars? Remind me not to get you mad...my poor old jalopy probably couldn't take it. LOL

By: chiefpayne568 on 9/29/09 at 2:23

Dargent,

Seriously though, I think people take things to personally here. Hey, I could just stay on here and be mad all day, but what would be the point. Just make your argument and see where it leads and if someone attacks, hey, laugh with them and make a day of it.

Or make a got-ya right back at them.
