Dropping the Lim-ball
Rush Limbaugh has been recently dropped like a hot potato as a minority investor in a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams NFL football team. Splashed all over the news is his and others' responses as to why and Mr. Limbaugh states and insists he's not a racist.
Comments such as "Football is like the Bloods and Crips without weapons," or one that got him canned at ESPN, "Donovan McNabb is encouraged by the media to succeed because he's a black quarterback" may suggest otherwise.
Like Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder and Don Imus before him, whether it's racism or stupidity, America is still valiantly trying to grow up. Maybe the NFL owners is a small circle of rich, white men, but even they know a potential racist when they see one.

7 I don't think your quote about McNabb is accurate.
His rant was against the press not him and he was right at that point.
Rush is a loud mouth, diseased ridden rhino on drugs
who's worth over $400 million dollars and exploits the
weak minded masses by making them think he's on their side.
He isn't.
...other than that, I don't know why people pick on him so much...
"...but even they know a potential racist when they see one."
So, you don't even have to be racist, but only have the potential? I guess we need to study ALL the NFL owners (and NLB, and NHL, and .......).
America is still valiantly trying to grow up.
Well D7, maybe you could go to the head of the class and wear your "sexist" and "racist" hate. See future postings for examples.
Yesterday one of D7's famous quotes appeared in the City Paper.

d'pain: Bomb Sylvan Park? Jesus! That's where I live come to think of it. Nice bedroom community, no minorities, all white. I made my peace with the Lord when I prayed I'd do anything if He'd let me pass Organic Chemistry (oh, I thru in Genetics, too) Now I'm living in Nashville. I didn't mean for God to go that far on a simple promise. Detroit was bad enough.
Let me think! Hmmm! If Rush or Don Imas said what D7 said at 12:53 p.m. yesterday (and in writing), how long would Rush and Don keep their jobs? Wonder what Al Sharpton would say about D7's comments about Sylvan Park being a "nice bedroom community, no minorities, all white"?
Hmmmmm! D7. Pot calling kettle black sort of comes to mind. Get off your high mucky-muck horse D7 and stop being a sexist and a racist. Or else we won't let you buy the Titans.
Just calling it like I see Buddy-Bud! You're confusing us with your rhetoric.
Ames: I really didn't write the LTE. See, my grandma hacked into my computer, set snippets to TCP over weeks time, and they spliced them together, signed my name.
I've got numerous calls into the paper to get to the bottom of it.
Or,......yes, I wrote the piece.
Now go stay within your limitatations and boundaries. Oh, and double up on those hormone replacement shots.
You're a racist D7! You said:
That's where I live come to think of it. Nice bedroom community, no minorities, all white.
So shut up your copy-cat stuff. Answer the question? Why did you write racist statements? And what's OK with you doing it and then bashing Rush and Don?
I'll tell you. Nuttin' ! You're a double standard type of guy.
And stop sexually harrassing me, you nitwit! "Now go stay within your limitatations and boundaries. Oh, and double up on those hormone replacement shots."
A sensible solution, too bad no one is listening

Ames: Instead of exposing yourself to be the mentally/ emotionally challenged depraved soul you are coming after me, why not focus that "simmering to boil" hatred of your's and go rail after real hate based groups like NOW and PETA.
You gotta save those "babies" you know. Go picket abortion clinics and boycott products that hearld women's freedom to "choose". Maybe champion a cause to get your hero, GW Bush, a gun rack in his Library?
Answer the question D7: What make you better than Rush or Imas? You said "By: dargent7 on 10/20/09 at 12:53
d'pain: Bomb Sylvan Park? Jesus! That's where I live come to think of it. Nice bedroom community, no minorities, all white."
You avoidance tactic may work with your mommie, your spousie, or your boss, but it don't work with me.
Answer the question D7. After all, you started the debate on race.
I don't hate you; I just hate your behavior; it's childish and judgemental. What's wrong with Rush that ain't wrong D7? Looked in the mirror lately, little boy?
Well, the truth not only sets one free, it shuts one up!
Ames: Let me walk you thru this, as you have trouble with linear comprehension.
I wrote a LTE...TCP published it.
I was not "slamming" Jimmy "the Greek" or Imus.
I was drawing a parallel between their "firings" and Limbaugh's failure to get admittance to a rich, white male club.
Though he has the money, his vocal record screams of racism.
Get it yet?
Go pick on Cpt. Nemo for a change of pace.
Invoke the name of dick658. It worked for slacker the other day.
Good morning!

Standing in the hall a man looks at the broom closet door. Another man walks up and ask, "Rush locked himself in the closet again?"
"Yep.Ever since the NFL annoucement."

Ames: Let me walk you thru this
D7, let me walk you through this:
What part of "Answer the question D7: What make you better than Rush or Imas?" don't you get?
You made a racist statement; add that to your sexist statements about me and you're in the crapper with Don and Rush.

"Yep.Ever since the NFL annoucement."
"Why?"
"Becasue he's so ashamed of the NFL."
There...fixed it for you.
If Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton wanted to have a part ownership in a sports franchise, you libs would have no trouble with that even though both of these men have made worse "racial" remarks than Limbaugh. You wouldn't speak out against them being owners because they are liberal and because you're afraid you would be called racist if you did. You're pathetic because you stand conservatives who think for themselves.
d7 I know here you drink coffee. :-/
No chief because he is baby throwing a tentrum, just like you.
Nemo,
Sorry.;..did you say something? I was too busy laughing.
Transparency! Bipartisanship!
Democrats lock Republicans out of committee room
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/63941-democrats-lock-republicans-out-of-committee-room
Still talking about Rush...beat that dead horse some more...
Good for the Dems. It's obvious that Republicans are nothing more than obstructionists. Screw 'em.
Apparently the off-the-record briefing included Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow. So these are considered news organizations by this Administration but FoxNews is not?
Can we say "double standard"? Sure...I knew you could.

Gdia,
Hey, if I were one of those Republicans being locked out, I'd find a way in...pick the lock, call a locksmith...or if all else fails, kick the blasted door in and pay to have it fixed later.
BTW Gdia,
Your hatred is showing again.
Sure Chief. If you were one of those Republicans you'd still be doing what you do so best...whine like a little rat terrier. The sky is falling!! RUN!!! lol
Hatred? LOL Whatever you say...
s/h/b well. My mind is on Florida...sigh
Al Sharpton is synanomus with Tawaba Brawley. Remember when she claimed a bunch of white guys, including cops, raped her and old Al 'attaboy" Sharpton jumped in feet first? Left his brain out of it. She was never raped, let alone raped by a bunch of white men. "Forensic tests found no evidence that a sexual assault of any kind had occurred". Evidence showed she was partying in a neighboring town when she said she was missing.
So if Al Sharpton wanted to buy a team, I'd laugh my head off, just like I do everytime he opens his big mouth. Regardless of his race, he is not the smartest cookie on the block or else why would he allow a 15-year old to suck him in to her false drama?
I don't care who owns football teams. It's the right of every one to buy whatever they can afford - as long as it's legal.
Not true Sid. The league has the final say. Don't believe me? Take a look at the NHL and how they are basically blackballing Jim Balsillie. The other professional leagues are siding with the NHL...I wonder why?
It's their club and they don't let just anyone in.
Gdia,
So, it's OK for one party to lock out another one and just run the country as they see fit? Ok...so when the Democrats lose the entire Congress in the next election, it'll be OK for the Republicans to do the SAME thing to Democrats.
Yep...THAT'S bipartisianship!
"Good for the Dems. It's obvious that Republicans are nothing more than obstructionists. Screw 'em."
Yep...sounds like hatred to ME.
OK, g, I'm not up on NFL trades and buys/sells. I'll concede that I'm wrong on that count.
The league says it all. I'm glad I just watch sports and not own or play them.
Oh I forgot, I play tennis. Not very well, but I keep trying.
gd, before you return from Florida, check your undercarriage for retirees.
Chief, you mistake me for someone who cares what you think. Don't make that mistake again.
Professional leagues are a club, if they don't like you, you won't get in. There are some exceptions, like Cuban in Dallas in the NBA, but I think they've come around to him.
But, when you have players coming out and saying they flat out won't play for a certian owner...that's a problem.
House, should I get "Bigfoot" out the garage?
Gdia,
Unfortunately, we both made that mistake...but never again.
That's absolutely true...they ARE a club...and if they don't want someone in, they don't have to take them. You are right.
BUT, the SAME rules have to apply to everyone, or they take the risk of being unfair to everyone's knowledge. So...if someone like Keith Olbermann or Soros wants in too, they should judge them accordingly or be correctly accused of being biased.
Of course that means nothing as they ARE a private club...but it might hurt the leagues in the long run.
Chief, you failed to mention WHY the Republicans were locked out of the Oversight Committee room. Remember Countrywide?
"Towns’ action came after repeated public ridicule from the leading Republican on the committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), over Towns’s failure to launch an investigation into Countrywide Mortgage’s reported sweetheart deals to VIPs."
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/63941-democrats-lock-republicans-out-of-committee-room
Gdia,
BTW, the players saying they wouldn't place for a certain owner...that's just so much BS. Those guys work for whomever pays them period...just like the rest of us do.
If they don't want to work for them, they can lose their contract and would have to find some other place to work. Given the teams record, do you think they would find someone to take them up on it?
Dragon,
True...but the very fact they WERE locked out is insulting to the Republicans, childish on the part of the Democrats, and does a disservice to voters in general - REGARDLESS of the reason why!
Ok, Chief, whatever.
That wouldn't hurt the league at all. Read between the lines, the NFL pretty much came out and said they didn't want him. Other than a few sheep still whining, has it even dented the league? Nah. Like I said before, beating a dead horse...
Gdia,
We'll see. Give it time.
For what? Come December no one will even remember this crap, and that is exactly what it is.
You mean there are no anti-semites who refuse to play for Chip Rosenbloom?
Gdia,
Ok...if you say so.
Parrott in the house...squawk!!
I don't know Dragon, is there? Why don't you pry yourself away from reading Obama's book and find out for us...chop chop.
"So, it's OK for one party to lock out another one and just run the country as they see fit? Ok...so when the Democrats lose the entire Congress in the next election, it'll be OK for the Republicans to do the SAME thing to Democrats"
That's exactly what they did when the Bushcovites were in charge.
exactly, Kosh.
As far as Limbaugh is concerned, what you and I think in regards to whether or not he can purchase or invest in a team doesn't mean jack squat. Ultimately it was the other owners (who by the way are for the most part fairly conservative) that decide and they are the ones that nixed him. Free speech is free, the results that come from what you say isn't.
Kosh,
I don't recall them locking the Democrats out of anything. Oh they overrode their votes and protests...but they didn't physically lock them out of the chambers, to my knowledge.
Do you have first hand knowledge of this or can you show me where it's documented they did this?
Especially during the last two years, when Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate.
