Naturally, it’s Metro Parks
I think that instead of demonizing Roy Wilson for the Metro Parks budget overrun we should recognize the fact that under his direction our parks system have improved immensely and is providing the citizens of Metropolitan Nashville and our visitors with pleasure, beauty and services never before seen.
The $704,000 budget overrun pales in comparison to the mega millions of taxpayer dollars that are force-fed to Bud Adams, Gaylord and many diverse developers for useless unneeded and unwanted tax exempt projects such as the new convention center without any return for the people, such as we are receiving from the city parks, and which usually end up costing us eternally for maintenance of these follies.
I, for one, thank Mr. Wilson for his foresight and leadership in making our city beautiful and providing needed service to the communities. I had rather see my money spent there than with some of our governments favorite profiteers.
I had rather see our parks remain a top priority over some of the junk projects that are heaped on us cost overrun or not.

Good morning.

From friday
Saint Sidney was a man. Does this mean that sidneyames is really a man in drag or that sid is a woman in denial?
From Firday

chief holding a sign
Your hungry
Your problem!
Friday oops
People you must remember that the GOP has been over run by RATS. So don't think that all Republicans or like chief. Even his is just a mouse.
For todays letter
It has been years since I was in Hawaii on vaction, but I still remember how beautiful the city park in Hilo was.
I guess you've had your coffee this morning, Nemo.
No not yet house. I went back to bed and got some more sleep. Now I am going to shower and then have my coffee. Or not. lol
Just look at tv and seen that there is another wreak on I-24. One person dead. I hate that section of road. Maybe the worst in the city. Sure has had more thean enough wreaks.
I took the day off...family out of town...no shower for me.
I don't have much to say about the parks system. They're nice to have around.
I think "Nemo" makes far greater sense posting while he sleeps than when actually awake.
OK, so two guys who refuse to shower and I'm not wearing any pants...we're off to a good start.

d7 are you flirting with sid? ;->
All we need now is a bearded lady, and we can go on tour.
I did not know what the fuss about Roy Wilson was, so I did a little reading. It seems that the parks was not the only department that went over.
It seems that he was doing what the people wanted for their parks.
I think I will support him.

Quit stirring the pot, "Nemo". St. Vicious specifically instructed me to call her by her santified name and cease and desist commenting on her weight gain and fallopian tubes. Can you say "fallopian" on this board? I don't know how to spell uterus.
d7, you sure did say fallopian on ths board.
Good morning, Nashville!
Congrats, Dooley, on another successful LTE submission. My only (minor) criticism is that the first two paragraphs are long, single-sentence paragraphs. No big deal, the LTE is good.
I see that Darge is slumming it again....we are not worthy.
Over the weekend, the Health Care Bill narrowly passed, by five votes in the House. The Catholic Bishops, pompous celibates on a mission from God, dictated the freshly inserted language that will prevent any insurance company in the "exchange" or in the public option from providing benefits for abortion services.
The theocrats claim that US women can go out and purchase expensive insurance riders, if they want that sort of coverage. If this language remains in the finished bill, look for a nostalgic return to rusty coat-hanger abortions..... for poor American women
Sue me. Unless the mother's life is at stake, I don't think the government should pay for terminations. That needs to be clearly stated in this bill.
Make the slutty bitches pay for their sinfulness, by saddling them with raising a fatherless kid, on their own? That sounds so Catholic.
There are no reason to sue anyone unless I make money off it. -idgaf
Why should I have to pay for parks? I don't use them- idgaf
I am Catholic. While I don't want to ban abortion, I do think there should be limits and that it should not be a form of birth control.
umm aaah IIIwant ahh snnn ta..x mone.- chief mouth ful of tea bag
Last week I said that unlike American Jewish politicians, who take their marching orders from Jersusalem, American Catholic politicians do not take their orders from Rome. I was wrong. Catholic lawmakers take their orders from the Pope, through the Catholic Bishops organization.
Given the intense GOP opposition to anything Hussein Obama proposes, and given the input from the Catholic Church on the Healthcare Bill, I am predicting failure for genuine healthcare reform in the USA. This is shaping up as a political disaster for the Obama team and a tragedy for the American healthcare consumer.
When one mixes politics, money and religion together, the results can be explosive. Plug your ears....
There's a band name in there somewhere...
The Fallopian Tubas?
House: For a small fee, I'll manage your band: "House of Uterus and the Fallopian Tubes".
Here is my Draconian Plan to end the scourge of abortion: When young boys reach puberty, we require that they each deposit their sperm in a federal sperm bank and then undergo a vasectomy. After a few decades of this, unwanted pregnancies, deadbeat dads and custody battles would be virtually unheard of. Welfare savings alone would be in the mega billions.

I think you have a plan Loner. That way as a solcity we can weed out the unwanted seeds before they are planted.
The Reproductive Gardeners
solcity was on purpose. I should have made the clear in the post.

Bumper Sticker idea:
Prevent Abortions. Support Universal Mandatory Vasectomies.
Perfect.
You two should get a copy write today.
Got to go now see you all later. Have a good day.
That's a bit too long...how's this:
Prevent Abortions. Sterilize Men.
That's got more punch and is less "cerebral"...passionate trumps cerebral on bumper stickers, IMO. What say you?
Thanks, for your input, Funditto.
And here's a sister-product for the feminazi bumper sticker market:
Prevent Rape. Castrate men."
That's a might strong......but some man-hating female would gladly paste that on her bumper. (Kerching! Hey, I need the dough.)
Errant quotation mark notwithstanding...mea culpa....need meds and latte.
I lean towards tube-tying myself. I don't want a nervous surgeon messing with the package.
One more....
Prevent War. Support Male Infanticide.
The peace-loving, man-hating consumer on your Christmas list will enjoy that bumper sticker.
Wassamatta Slack, chicken?
Prevent Unwanted Pregnancies:
Go F**k Yourself
Dooley get a grip on reality. What Adams gets was voted on by our (cough) representatives this clown just took our money without authorization.
Let him get away with it and we will have more of it. His budget was not a "suggested" budget it was an authorized one.

You are one sick puppy nemo.
This place is getting to the point where it needs a moderator or to get rid of some people if they can't stay on topic.
Abortion is nobody's business except the woman, her doctor and whoever else she wishes to consult. Not the business of government, you or me.
If we have laws supporting abortions, they should be restricted to politicians after 2 terms. Seems logical since pregnancy is measured in terms.
OK, Dooley. Since the budget must be balanced, what do you want to cut by over $1 million?
Start with the Mayor's salary and eliminate 25 council members w/ all those perks.
CAH,
"Abortion is nobody's business except the woman, her doctor and whoever else she wishes to consult. Not the business of government, you or me. If we have laws supporting abortions, they should be restricted to politicians after 2 terms. Seems logical since pregnancy is measured in terms."
If abortion is nobody's business except the woman, her doctor and whomever she wishes to consult - then why should anyone else have to pay for it? If it's her body and her right and her decision, let it be HER bill too then.
