A joking matter

Seems that Sarah Palin respects Glenn Beck so much that she has hinted at a Palin/Beck 2012 presidential run. Oh God, how I hope so.

As fragmented and divided as the Republican Party is now, it's an extreme possibility .

When I heard this I became hysterical with laughter and thought if she really wants to be successful she could round out a sure-to-win ticket by appointing Rush Limbaugh as her secretary of state and Bernie Maddoff as her Secretary of the Treasury, along with Lou Dobbs as Press Secretary.

It would be a disaster, but a laugh a minute.

Mr. "C": I disagree. I don't want a Becker/Palin ticket for one reason, well two: We'll have to listen to these morons 24/7 for the 2 year campaign. Not to mention, since anything is possible in American politics (eg., GW Bush stole the 2000 election right from under Gore), seeing/ hearing Beckerhead & Bobblehead for 4 additional years is too painful. Second: I do like fair fights. They are both clinically crazy. Since all the alcohol was drained from Beck, he's a crybaby who needs tranquillizers 'round the clock. Palin's in love with herself. Can't answer Katie Couric questions, so labels it a "gotcha"...just like Bush did. They both couldn't win...or maybe the Mayans are onto something with "The End" on 2012 coming to a planet near you.

I would love to see this ticket because it would be a sure win for the Democrats . It would be almost like an uncontested race . With Palen and Beck all they want any way is an Academy Award . A team like this would spell the total destruction of the Republican party and benefit the whole world.

I've managed to go all week without having heard one word from S. Palin. It's been rather nice.

By: house_of_pain on 11/19/09 at 6:52

Since you won't take her calls, Fun, she's coming to Nashville...
close your blinds.

By: Funditto on 11/19/09 at 7:00

Ha! How silly. Folks are gonna pay more than $500 a person to convene and say they are against wasteful spending.

By: dargent7 on 11/19/09 at 7:01

...all week w/o hearing one word from Sarah Palin...got electricity? She's been "ON" Barbara Wa-Wa, Oprah, Hannity, and now a 2 parter on O'Reilly . Her book tour kicked off in Mich. yesterday. Get with the program

By: sidneyames on 11/19/09 at 7:41

Barb, Op, Hannity and others just want the ratings. She's hot news -good or bad! Like her or not, she's now a personality, thanks to SNL Tina Fey.

good morning nashville. I'm off to work so I can't play today. I'll miss ya'll, you hear now?

By: dargent7 on 11/19/09 at 7:47

Sid: When you recite your day's events, chapter and verse, try to distill it down to the basics. You're the only one I know of who comes under sniper fire going to the mailbox and is taken hostage at WalMart.

Sarah Palin and Glen Beck’s thoughts and/or their views represent America’s “common sense”, which is an all-American idea many who view and practice the left-wing values (or lack thereof) fail to understand. The Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, and many, many others who believe, practice, and teach these values represent the “ole-time” Judeo-Christian values as found in almost all of our founding fathers’ values.

My hope is for C.W. Clouse, his friends, and all others to become closer with our Lord, just to understand the spiritual love “social values” from our Heavenly God.

Good morning.

In away the thought of a possible run by Palin or Limbaugh/Beck would be a funny sight to see. I can see the collision of these over-inflated egos as a national disaster. On the other hand it would be a disaster.

By: govskeptic on 11/19/09 at 8:02

I truly love these Catnip LTE's. This love and laughter of the
moment may be hiding tears and pain in the not too distant future!

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:02

Speaking of disasters. Good morning Oscar. How's tricks?

By: house_of_pain on 11/19/09 at 8:06

Oscar, did you see an image of the Virgin Mary in your oatmeal again?

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:07

skeptic you can't tell catnip from cat litter. So stop smelling the used litter.

By: CAH on 11/19/09 at 8:10

Harward's snippet has inspired some deep soul searching and I've decided we should all follow a bumper sticker I saw recently:

Pray For Obama - Psalm 109:8

Curious, I found a Bible and looked up that verse. It reads

Psalm 109:8

"Let his days be few; and let another take his office."

By: dargent7 on 11/19/09 at 8:14

House: Come on now, that's being sarcastic and rude. Oscar saw the Virgin Mary in his grilled cheese sandwich and again in the laundry room in a box of Tide.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:16

From yesterday.

The Starlight! When I was younger and single I would go the Starlight wearing a wedding ring and would get pickup by good looking women.

You are talking about the one on Dickerson road?

By: Funditto on 11/19/09 at 8:25

D7 - I purposely have missed the Palin Shows. And it's a good thing because my next pet peeve - The Twilight Series - have been all over the news as well. I've stuck to NCP for news and it's done me good. I highly recommend it.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:25

From yesterday

That was some interesting stats you show about how many Atheists commited crimes, Blanket. 1% seems to an terrible amount of the population. lol

By: CAH on 11/19/09 at 8:28

Twilight?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/19/09 at 8:30

Nemo,

And what percentage of the total US population is atheist, Nemo? Around 9% or so I believe.

By: gdiafante on 11/19/09 at 8:30

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:31

actually, Nemo - it's more like 1/3 of 1%.

CAH, did you read the verse after that? what a nice loving Christian you are.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:31

what percentage of the population is black vs. prison population? and did you notice the percentage of Catholics in prison?

By: Funditto on 11/19/09 at 8:35

Twilight is the vampire series. A new movie came out this week. If you had teenagers, you'd know - if not, thank your lucky stars.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/19/09 at 8:36

Clouse,

Be careful what you wish for...you might get it. And the you'd have a Ms. President with Beck as VP!

Stranger things in politics have happened you know.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:36

Fun, a friend of mine just came out as a Twilight fan - lol! you know i had to tease her heavily about it.

By: gdiafante on 11/19/09 at 8:36

I want to know what percentage of blonde, one-legged Christians with hoof-in-mouth disease are in a diner in Aurora, CO on even numbered days that are cloudy.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:42

CAH, here's Psalm 109:9. In case you haven't read your Bible lately:

9Let his (O)children be fatherless
And his (P)wife a widow.
10Let his (Q)children wander about and beg;
And let them (R)seek sustenance far from their ruined homes

I threw in verse 10 for you too.

By: Funditto on 11/19/09 at 8:43

I read them just to see what the fuss was about. They were ok but could have been half as long (the books).
Check out "The Blue Notebook." Not a vampire story - but a really good read.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:43

really? i could use a good read right about now.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:44

g, in Aurora that would be 23.75%. nationwide more like .034%.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:45

do you need a link for that? lol!

By: Funditto on 11/19/09 at 8:46

Yes. A friend recommended it . Written by a doctor about a child prostitute in India. Not the most uplifting, but still a good book..

By: gdiafante on 11/19/09 at 8:47

Ah, thanks Blanket. No link, leave that to Chief.

That's a helluva thing to wish on your President, CAH. Have you ever seen so many people act so irrationally about a President? They are starting to trump the anti-Bush crazies now.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:48

Things I learned from yesterday

1- chief still can't manage a comeback.

2- chief thinks that by me telling what kind of scum bag his, is "extremely high compliment" only furthers just how immense his narcissist/masaakist persona has become.

3- sid wants everyone to know how many steps it takes her to get to the bathroom.

4- id is............. Well what can I said that evrybody does already know.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/19/09 at 8:55

From yesterday

MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE POSTED IT THIS WAY.

That was some interesting stats you show about how many Catholics commited crimes, Blanket. 26%seems to an terrible amount of the population. lol

I should have known how confuse/dense chife is.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/19/09 at 8:56

actually, 65% are Catholic. 26% are Protestant.

It is a sad comment when people who call themselves Christian come up with something like this. You think it is clever but, it only serves to show your idiocy and just how shallow, narrow-minded and SINFUL you truly are. You, CAH, should pray for forgiveness. Try Psalm 32:1-2.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/19/09 at 9:01

Blanket,

Doesn't matter...the name callers are all racists, right?
