Palin operates on instinct

Like everyone else and seamingly bigger than a Beatles reunion, Sarah Palin's book tour had me captured. If not signing her new book, Going Rogue, she's on all the talk shows giving "exclusive" interviews. I passed on the Walters and Hannity ones, waiting for the two-parter on FOX's O'Reilly. He's #1 in cable news because he says so every show.

I must admit, this former Alaska governor has it down, pat. Aside from her attractiveness, she's "folksy" and down to earth, and America loves it. She's developed a brilliant strategy this time around.

According to her, forget and nevermind electing those Harvard educated lawyers for office. She's aiming for middle America, pulling at the strings as a stay at home mom, raising 5 kids, with one disabled that she shows off as a badge of honor for forgoing abortion. "I'm like a momma grizzly bear, I look out for my cubs." O'Reilly and many others really liked that one.

And I think there are more like those snipets to come. She clearly has the scent, is on the pathway to aspire to higher office, and wants those keys to the White House. I believe she is like a bear in the woods. All instinct and no thought.

Palen is a big joke. I hope the Republicans are weak enough to nominate her . That will mean a sure win for Obama. If she does run she better not debate him . He would tear her up worse than Katie Couric did and make her look like the young and beautiful fool that she is.

By: dooley on 11/23/09 at 4:00

Let's hear it id . You've got a bigger crush on her than zizzio has on Taylor Swift.

Good morning.

Any good mother will fight for her children. Plain coined "I'm like a momma grizzly bear, I look out for my cubs." is folksy, but dose not make her stand out from what any other mother.

What she does that a momma grizzly bear would not do, is that she put her children in harms way. She use them to farther her own ambitions. She displays them as jewelry. not realizing the harm she is putting them in.

By: Funditto on 11/23/09 at 6:55

And for a mere $550 of your hard-earned pay you can go see her today to help send a message that you don't want the government wasting your hard-earned pay. LOL!

Here's my take: If Susan Boyle looked like Sarah Palin, she would not be in the news and if Sarah Palin looked like Susan Boyle, she wouldn't either.

What a shallow bunch we are.

"I passed on the Walters and Hannity ones, waiting for the two-parter on FOX's O'Reilly. He's #1 in cable news because he says so every show."

That's so true! Every time I see him, he's going on about how popular he is. Poor fella.

That is my biggest beef with her. I too have a disabled child and pretty much stayed put the first half of his life as he did best in his own environment and struggled when we left it - even for vacation. And most of the parents I know like me have done the same. Palin is lying if she says any different or that all this travel and upheaval benefits her children.

If she's a grizzly bear, that means she could eat me...

By: Captain Nemo on 11/23/09 at 7:06

She would spit you back out, house. Just like me you would leave a bad taste in her mouth. lol

By: Funditto on 11/23/09 at 7:24

I thought she was a pit bull.

By: dargent7 on 11/23/09 at 7:25

Palin just recites what American's are in desparete need for: REASSURANCE that all will be fine. "We just have to go back to the basics". Never mind this is almost 2010 and there are no longer any "basics". She spoon feeds this bull crap that slips off her tongue so easily. If she ever made it to the White House, she'd be a deer in the headlights until the day she quit.

Lets see, someone that represents the views of middle America or a Chicago gangster that hates our country. Who should we vote for?

Decisions,decisons, decisions.

I don't see Palin being selected to run for President but she has the spotlight and an opportunity to invigorate the conservative base. I would like to see a resurgence of Regan Republicans - you know, back when we were proud to be Americans.

Maybe next time, the Republicans will run a conservative, unlike the centrist McCain.

You will vote for a Rouge Grizzly Momma. There is no secreat about it id. But to say that she represent the views of middle America is a bit of a stretch.

However if id goes oneway then the opposite will happen..

Good morning, Nashville!

Great LTE, Darge; you showed us where the bear defecated in the buckwheat....as my old grandpappy used to say.

Mrs. Palin is a bear - not a noble, wild, nuts and berries type of bruin, but a picnic-basket-stealing nuisance bear; the kind of bear that drags garbage bags out of a dumpster, looking for edibles among the putrescent refuse. She is a desperate, unpredictable creature and therefore a danger to human life.

I can see Palin bolting the GOP, if they do not anoint her on the first ballot at the 2012 convention. The Republicans are damned if they choose her and damned if they don't. Her ego is so huge, that she will not sit out the 2012 contest and meekly support the Republican ticket.

I'm beginning to think that John McCain is more idiot than A-hole, in his goofy choice for a running mate in 2008 he created a free-roaming monster. If she runs on a third-party ticket with a fairly credible running mate, Mrs. Palin could energize and expand the Democratic Paty and bring the Grand Old Party to political ruin.

She could be our next president. The Israel lobby absolutely loves Sarah Palin; the Defense Lobby and the Energy lobby love her too. As Junior Bush revealed, even a clueless dumb-ass can fake it as the POTUS; with a tragic precedent like that, the photogenic Mrs. Palin might actually be an improvement.

Who then Dragon? Huckleberry hound or mit the RINO? Some unknown to be announched?

The smart money would be on Palin now who is building a heck of a base and walked the walk already in Alaska.

Look for her to take part in Hanittys Freedom tour next year too, and her saying what the people are thinking that the other politicians ignore.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/23/09 at 8:37

Well, I'm happy to report the two Senators from Tennessee voted NAY on the closure vote. Now we'll see what happens when the real voting begins...see who can be bought off (i.e. Sen. Mary Landrieu for $300 million) and who follows their principles.

id, there is good chance that it will be an unknown TBA. In Dec 2006, had anyone heard of a freshman Senator named Obama? Was Gov Bush or Gov Clinton contenders two years out?

The danger is that it is the Party which selects who will run and the Republican Party is still trying to be more inclusive than principled..

By: Loner on 11/23/09 at 8:55

Idgaf is Gaga for Sarah, he wrote, "The smart money would be on Palin now who is building a heck of a base and walked the walk already in Alaska."

Sorry Id, Sarah did not "walk the walk" in Alaska, she walked off the job in Alaska.... about a year and a half before her term ran out. She is a quitter who put her own political ambitions on a higher plane than serving the electorate of Alaska, the people who made it all possible for her. She's a phony, Id.

Mrs. Palin is building a base, no doubt about that. The trouble for the right-wingers is that her base is coming over from the Republican base; Mrs. Palin is not getting traction with many Democrats. As Palin's strength increases, the Republican strenghth fades. If Palin goes rogue, a few secular Republicans may remain in the Palin-free Party, but many may vote Democratic, just to spite Sarah the Spoiler.

Michael Steele, GOP Chair, is not the man who can prevent a major schism from developing in the Republican Party, on the contrary he may actually contribute to the disaffection, and angst.

If the GOP cracks up over Mrs. Palin, they may not be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. That will really stink up the place.

By: dargent7 on 11/23/09 at 8:59

idgaf: As you regulary report on Obama's history, and highlight his inadequitcies, always forgeting he won the "Super Bowl" of politics, may I remind you....Palin QUIT the Governorship of Alaska to WRITE A BOOK. Just in time for Christmas. Get it?
Her parents didn't have cancer, her kids weren't diagnosed with lukemia, her husband was held hostage by the Taliban...she up and QUIT to take a $1.5 million advance fee and write about her experiences running as VP...to "set the record straight". "They stifled me"...WHO CARES? She's playing to the 45% dumbed down Americans who watched Oprah and read People Magazine for reality. Are you really that shallow to fall for this b.s.? I know Chief certainly is.

I seriously doubt that...but we'll see.

By: Funditto on 11/23/09 at 9:05

Have you read the book? Has anyone? I'm curious.

By: Loner on 11/23/09 at 9:11

I hate to break it to the Palinites, but that Bimbo did not write the book, a ghost-writer did. More than one ghost-writer may have helped out. No doubt, they are getting hush money to maintain their low profile(s).

Let's face the facts, Mrs. Palin does not read books, newspapers or magazines, as Katie Couric discovered; only a fool would believe that Palin actually authored this padded puff piece.

It's all part of a grand deception, Idgaf has been fooled since day one, bless his heart.

By: idgaf on 11/23/09 at 9:13

The smartest move Palin made was resigning. You will see an unconventional campaign and a completely different Sarah when she is campaigning for herself.

Think about it, if she was still Governor she would not be on a book tour now and be the Keynote speaker to the Tea Party people in Feb. or be able to make the Hannity tour if she does.

The NY 23 call was a good one too.

The lefts petty snipes at her will help not hurt her.

Barry did what for us? More and more people are starting to realize that including the NY Times. If the media reports faily on him he is dead meat. As is he barely holds his own aginst her.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/23/09 at 9:14

Loner,

Interesting...so you say Palin didn't author this book. Could you enlighten us as to how you conclude this position...what evidence you have of this?

There are a number of people who don't read newspapers or magazines...and read only a few books...but I'd wager they could write their own biography.

By: Loner on 11/23/09 at 9:19

The primary ghost-writer is Ms. Lynn Vincent. Here is a snippet from a blog that discusses this issue:

"Lynn Vincent, the woman who is writing a book called Going Rogue "by" Sarah Palin, sure can pick her co-writers. She's written books before with a general who kills "demons" for God and a guy who finds interracial dating "revolting." (end of snippet)

I will personally wait to comment until I have at least read the book...much as I have on Obama's book.

You, apparently, have no such compulsion to comment on a book you have not read. Sad that.

I didn't see if you commented on Obama's book. Did you fail to read that one as well?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/23/09 at 9:25
