Maverick back in the barn
Former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, just wrapped up her whirlwind book tour. From all accounts it was a rousing success, drawing standing-room-only lines everywhere she went. The book sold millions, set all kinds of records, and didn't drop in price to $4.79 until the second week of publication.
I didn't buy the book on principle. The public's fascination and blind faith to this woman is astounding.
Palin can take any event that most of us would call "tragic" and spin it into a wonderful, positive experience we all should envy. Her 16-year-old unwed daughter getting pregnant for instance, and she herself at 44. Finding out her child had Downs Syndrome she declined an abortion and now parades the boy around as a badge of honor.
Bristol's relationship has ended with Levi, soon after her mom's failed VP run. Or maybe his posing nude in Playgirl ruined the blessed event?
Now Palin claims to have no interest in running for president in 2012, or at least claims to not know, which I believe. Anyone who doesn't know what's lying on their coffee table, night stand or arriving in the mail, probably isn't up to knowing where the Oval Office is either.

I'm working on my lte submission this weekend. If it gets published, I'll let you guys know it's me. Unless you beat up the lte writer for it, then I may not admit it. Ha!!
yeah? well i'm doing mine in PIG Latin.
You guys' insides are cankered. Do as I do...only eat celery and low fat cheese.
ellw ooptyw ood, lanketb!
LOL! Maybe I'll get son to help me do one in what he calls, "Freutschanese." That's French, German and Japanese in case you're wondering!
gdia - Latin is a language I never learned - studied ancient greek though :)
G, that's about all my old stomach can do now anyway--simple, plain, and not very good!
Blanket, yep, tony's is da bomb! Good on everything. It is really, really good in pinto beans, too.
Dusty, who do you converse with in ancient Greek.
An old Greek guy?
I do love pinto beans, but everytime I eat them I my rear end catches fire.
Latin est miseratio lingua
mama
green box of Tony Chachery's seasoning - does he have other colors and what's the diff? is it expensive? Does Kroger's carry it? :)

Stay away fro fire, silly.
Two things, quickly:
I've worked with "Chappy", and he's the real deal. Knows his knitch. 23 years in LA, creole cuisine, and he's not fakin' it. Kind of a miniture Paul Prudome.
Detroit's Ford has the 2010 Mustang GT for $30,000. Shelby (as in Carrol) will modify it for another $34,000 to bring it up to 510 hp. Neat twin blue stripes, across the roof and hood, included.
I'd take a Corvette ZR1, stock, at 410 hp over a "toy" Shelby. And put the $30,000 savings in a CD.
Who burned the M?
Mama, did you eat at the Jamacian place at the Farmer's market yet? It's got really good food and the lady who owns it is awesome.
Hey, be careful with that car carpet. Oh no! Honda admitted it was the gas pedal. We all knew that from the first reports. It's just sad that another car industry has to lose money in this economy, but sadder that people are injured and/or died because of it. BE Careful! A lot of honda owners are worried.
slack - learned it and Aramaic when I was involved with a biblical research ministry :)
Dusty, Tony's is cheap and you can buy it at Kroger. Just about anywhere, really.
Off your meds again, sid. It is Toyota. Not Honda.
dargent, then why is his Nashville restaurant so bad?
Sidney, that's TOYOTA, not Honda. And no, I haven't eaten at that place in the market. I'll check it out though.
Darge, I am hard-pressed to believe Chappy is anything near Prudhomme. Lots of us have eaten there and did not like it at all.
i can't think of a single acquaintance who has liked it.....
Blanket - thanks I'll try it out - Kroger released a new hot pepper sauce under its brand last week - its the bomb! :)

I heard that it was the water.
g, do you have a dog? if so, enjoy your beans and blame it on the dog. i have two dogs, just to be on the safe side.
Dusty, what she said! LOL
It is cheap and it lasts a good while. There are different colors but I can't say what the difference is because I've only used the green one. I think the red one may be for blackening but I'm not sure 100%.
Dusty, i'll check out that hot sauce. i'm a big fan of hot sauce. 8~)
Loner, about the Pope: whatever blows his robe up...
That's good, Blanket! Cats work too!
Dusty, is that a red pepper sauce? Like Tobasaco? Or Louisiana hot sauce? I make a great chicken lip dip with red pepper sauce!
G, cajun's might say you have to follow your beans with a little ice cream...
s/h/b/ Tabasco...my bad!
d7, Shelby and his Must-stanks are sub-standard.
chicken lip dip? oh do tell.
Mama - I'll have to check the labels for sure? I love blackened halibut :)
Blanket - me too - also they just started carrying Mae Ploy sweet pepper sauce - makes even diced up cheap hot dogs taste good :)
MamaG, I did not know that cat's fart. It explains a lot.
Well I hope you guys have a great night! I'm seriously thinking of heading to Kroger right now and hope it isn't too crowded. No one was in the parking lot of Sav-A-Lot earlier and not many in Aldi's. Aldi's may be the better bet for me! Talk with you all tomorrow!
Dusty, Mae Ploy is good, but this one is my favorite: http://www.reliablepaper.com/v/vspfiles/photos/SRIRACHA-2.jpg
I've got some yellow Bahamian hot sauce that tastes great, but it will light your a$$ up like a Christmas tree.
slack - little known fact since they always blame it on someone else usually the dog :)

I'm old that works for me.
oh sure, leave me pondering the chicken lip dip. have a good one, Mama!
Dusty, I bet the clever bas@$%# meow the instant they do it.
blanket - looks interesting :)
i get that sauce at my local Asian market. OK, since i haven't plugged Inner Asian Market in a while.......go there. It's on Nolensville Road near Polk Ave. just south of the fairgrounds. great selection and good prices!
Slack - No they are masters of the complacent "I would never do anything that plebeian" look :)
cats are smug. i'll choose my self deprecating dogs any day.
Ok blanket here it is:
1 can of chicken breast meat
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/3-1/2 cup shredded pepper jack (or any kind of cheese, really)
some ranch dressing (I never measure it)
frank's hot sauce (I use about 1/2 of the small bottle--you can use the amount you like)
Mix everything all together and put it in the oven til it browns a little on top. Eat it with frito's scoops. It is fantastic--tastes similar to a buffalo wing. I think the recipe is on the bottles of Frank's but, a friend gave it to me a long time ago. Where she's from, they call hot wings "chicken lips," hence the name. You can make it as hot as you like with the hot sauce.
Slacker, I never believed my son about the cat's, I always thought it was just him farting and blaming it on the whichever cat was closest. One day I was home alone and smelled the most god-awful scent and when I looked at the cat, she was actually looking at me as if to say, "wasn't me!" But I knew it was her! (seriously!!!)
oh, i've made something similar! i use blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles instead of ranch and pepper jack. i bet yours is better!
Blanket - thanks - I stroll by that place when I walk downtown from my place on Harding :)
the folks who run the place are really nice, Dusty. try their home made dumplings some time. they're really good. and so is the home made kimchi.
i wonder whatever happened to Panda? i wonder if he got a bad batch of kimchi one day?
