Excellent article in The City Paper, "Bar the Door." If accurate, almost unbelievable, to say the least.
Bar and nightclub "security" and bouncers randomly picking people up and physically throwing them out of the clubs seems exaggerated.
Then attacking them on the street without cause or provocation? Since I'm usually in bed by 10:00pm I haven't witnessed any trouble, especially at 2 a.m. "Last call" at 2 a.m. was always a rough time if my memory serves me correctly. Everyone is drunk and tired and become belligerent when the bar closes.
Unless these bars and clubs in question hire a bunch of apes from the zoo, they'll be sued blind and loose their liquor licenses.
Then passing a brilliant, comprehensive strategy, "Guns-N-Bars" legislation will only fuel the fire. If Nashville wishes to capture more of the tourist dollar and convention business, they'd better think long and hard of allowing loaded weapons into any place that serves alcohol.

I know of a couple of joints where sometimes it's the bouncer who gets thrown out after a brawl. I agree bars are no place for guns because after about midnight or 1:00 AM everyone morphs into Wyatt Earp.
So, is this where the gang will be roosting today?
I missed the conversation yesterday. This D"Argent LTE should spark some gun-lover blowback. Hey, guns and alcohol is an old American recipe for senseless violence. Now, the socialists are trying to away our right to be an A-hole.....Obama must go!

Again I ask: How many of the incidents involving mishandling of customers had guns involved?
And again I ask; How many of the shootings in Nashville involved criminals with legal carry permits?
How many people with legal carry permits were arrested? And how many were arrested while drunk or drinking in a bar?
Legal carry permit holders are usually responsible law abiding citizens.
AND on another note: Goldman Sacs CEO will testify today that Goldman DONATED over 30 million to politicians - MOSTLY DEMO-RATS!. Yep, the bulk of the 30 million went to the famous democratic party members. How odd is that?

You simply cannot make this stuff up.

Of course, my wife used the same phrase.
But, in her defense, I did ask her to "talk dirty" to me.
John McCain took Hawkings' message the same way....he wants to stop beaming electronic signals into Mexico in the hope that if they do not monitor our broadcasts, they will forget about us and go elsewhere to rape, pillage and plunder. Remeber, McCain was a stalwart hold-out on the MLK Day law....losing to a black guy must have been galling to the old supremacist jackass....he's still extremely bitter over the loss to Obama.

Can you think of a better way to control the population growth? Our country is getting too many people on the streets in it. Simply go to the bars, get drunk and start a fight. That will help keep the population under control.
MCCain may have sealed his doom by championing the new AZ law that requires police to profile suspects. Give the knucklehead enough rope and he will hang himself, D7. I saw his warped mug on the TV this morning, he was yapping about the immigration crisis, like a senile Shitzu. I think he will go down in flames...an appropriate end to a hot-shot jerk-off....a man who, in the opinion of many, is due some long-overdue Kharmic payback. Good riddance!

Loner, I have friends in Phoenix. I hope all the ILLEGALS from there move to Nashville, so you and D7 can have a "true" experience of illegals. Nashville ain't seen nuttin' yet!
Our federal gov-ment has let this get out of hand. Thank goodness someone in Arizona had the "nuts" to stop being politically correct and get down to businesss to control the out of control illegal influx into their state.
One farmer said that 1/2 million illegals have been caught on his property since 1968; so that's a lot of trespassers on one man's property.

Bn, I am drinking half Costa Rican Tarrazo and half Mexican Organic Pluma, with cream and sugar. The owner, Pete Apicella, has just confirmed that I'll be on the Java team at the OUR fest at Brushwood in June...occasionally filllin' in for the boys doin' the grillin' at the Blue Lady Cafe at Brushwood Folklore Center. No money involved, free camping and free entertainment is my payment....that and the parade of T&A....life is good!

Yay - I'm so happy you said "grillin'" instead of "barbequeing." My new pet peeve is when people call cooking out "barbequeing" and call a grill a "barbeque." Barbeque is a food you eat - not a thing you do or an object you cook on.
Woody chimed in with this comment about guns in bars, "I bet the bands play better in those bars." Woody is one of the Loners...the cowboy blues band with a (Pink) Floydian slip....Old Loner sometimes performs with those guys using my 1923 Beuscher C-tenor....it's different, if nothing else.
