So Obama's getting all the mileage and taking all the credit he can from the orchestrated demise of Osama bin Laden. It's a great diversion from our faltering economy, soaring deficit, outrageous gasoline prices and quarterly profits for Big Oil companies, lack of coherent foreign policies, etc. The sad reality is that it is pathetic that it has taken 10 years for the (supposedly) most powerful nation in the history of the world to accomplish this feat. Oh well, at least justice is finally served, if only temporarily. Next, I expect the radical Muslims will be seeking justice in retaliation for U.S. actions. Tit for tat, on and on and on.
Meanwhile, the U.S. political system remains broken, dysfunctional, and hopelessly gridlocked, preventing positive improvements for the shrinking backbone of this country, namely the disappearing middle class.
Where is the consensus-building and non-partisan politics that Obama promised us when he was campaigning for president? Ask yourself if you and your family are better off now than before Obama was elected. It seems to me that things have gotten worse, and our nation is beginning to witness the beginning of one of the most severe periods of inflation that we have ever seen. Those of us who have already had our retirement "nest eggs" severely damaged by drastically decreased real estate values and soaring health costs while living on fixed incomes just think we have seen hard times so far. Unfortunately, I fear we "ain't seen nothin' yet."
