Republican gubernatorial candidate and Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam announced Thursday plans to develop an online jobs clearinghouse that will pull together existing market data in a user-friendly way so that every jobseeker, employer, community official, higher education institution, and economic development organization has access to timely and accurate information on the current and future economic landscape of Tennessee.
“Tennessee is still suffering from nearly 11 percent unemployment,” Haslam said. “Lots of people are looking for work, but the question is, ‘How can we aid in that process? How can we help people make informed decisions about what careers to pursue, what businesses to start, what training to offer?’”
This one-stop shop will serve both a short-term and long-term purpose. It will help the thousands of Tennesseans who have recently lost their jobs quickly rejoin the workforce, but it will also help communities, entrepreneurs, and postsecondary institutions make informed decisions about future economic development.
How about this, house

hi, Ben. are you going to Hermitage Cafe for breakfast this weekend? 8~D
Ben, are you gonna go corrupt after you are elected Preez of the Encore condo- owners Asso.?
"It doesn't help that there's so many people who want us to have the same government that Haiti has"
geezzz gd, stop being such a polarizing drama queen.
Nobody's suggesting we eliminate building codes or abolish the FDA or any such thing; and to suggest that our government got any less intrusive than it already was during the Bush years is to ignore reality. If anything the increasing rate of intrusion was only moderately slowed.
We can try this, house
http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/city-voices/viewpoints-creating-statewide-jobs-clearinghouse?page=1
I suspect so, bn. I've got me a taste for those fried baloney sandwiches now.
We can even try this on for size. Wink wink

Is anyone else here so sick of the intrusive ad that they will NEVER go "Find your hero at the Frist?"
I'm going to sit that one out, slack. Sounds like responsibility with no authority to me. Plus there's much better bribe-money potential with the city council, I think.
For Condo President BenDover built the Trails End Homes from the ground up.

That's f*cking awesome, Nemo!
"Nobody's suggesting we eliminate building codes or abolish the FDA or any such thing"
Actually they are, as I've already demonstrated. Nice try though.
I will try it again

I could not pick it up so I tried a different way to get. Sorry about the double post.
Ben, shaking down the Concierge for a % of his tips, adds up to some serious change, in a months time.
The Post Politics section is certainly showing the lack of a dedicated person. At the moment, only a portion of one page is posted and cuts off partway thru a story.
Ben, admit it. You have the hots for the waitresses - lol!
gd, you're further off the deep end every time I check this page. Whazzamatter? Mourning Obama's poll numbers?

Ben, admit it. You have the hots for the waitresses - lol!
I could not pass this up. lol

I'm a little hurt by her, bn.
As far as I can tell I'm the only one she hasn't told to "f*ck off" yet.
That's Loner at the end of the bar, Nemo.
I did see that, Ben. It could be. lol
Ben, considering her late night clientele you're going to have to try a lot harder.
By: Captain Nemo on 4/9/10 at 7:30
Don't ask me what that last post meant, because I don't know.
Capt. what did you mean by that 7:24 post?
Last night at a local town hall meeting, a couple of council people were explaining the yes vote for the convention center. They kept using the words "risk", "gamble" and other types of words that spelled "risk".
So I said: "hey, I hope this billion dollar risk pays off for the good of Nashville. But in case it does not, will the city council start going to a gambler's anonymous meeting". I'm so mean.
sid, they'll just been making jokes about the crazy woman at the meeting when they go to happy hour. hope you don't mind being the running joke.
Ben, coming from you, the resident nutjob, that's a compliment. Go look for some stones and let the big boys talk. Chop chop
Did somebody say "happy hour"?
are you an active member of the Long Island Tea Party?
I'm a participating member..."active"? Not so much.
close enough - lol!
I've already made my b, double e, double r, u,n. Just waiting for the meeting to start.
Crazy woman aks question

lol, Nemo!
house, Hairy Titty has a 12 pack of Fat Tire on sale for $16.99.
The convention center is probably a bad idea for metro overall but it should be good for the down-town district.
Adventure Park is already on deck for 2011... River-front baseball park is back in contention right behind that.
We've got Serpas and his army of goons to keep the riff-raff out; all funded by the budget-building quest to cite everyone in the state with a marginal DUI.
All we need now is a program to give all the homeless people one-way bus tickets to Orlando and we've got it licked.
So, to all you people in the suburbs... "ante up, suckers".
I had a St Pauli Girl lager last night. The wife got it by mistake, but it wasn't as bad as I remember it. Maybe I was just thirsty.
Adventure Park? Is that another Opryland?
Leave my stones out of this, gd... you f*cking pervert.
What are you anyway... some kind of Vandy professor or something? How the hell can you be so far removed from reality?
Are you going to be the last person in the country who accepts that the media lied about Obama and over-sold him to the public; and that he's really just a not-so-smart egocentric radical leftist?
g, you must've just been thirsty - lol!
Ben, "not-so-smart egocentric radical leftist"? and you're calling g a drama queen?
By: BenDover on 4/9/10 at 10:19
Leave my stones out of this, gd... you f*cking pervert
you have g confused with a catholic priest.
Let him rant, Blanket. It's no surprise that rational thinking would seem foreign to him.

Besides, I was only relaying what I've personally heard from nuts like Ben. He just can't handle it for some reason.
Oh goody goody, just what we need..... another potentially useless job search site to clog things up.
http://current.com/1r3024c
blah blah blah... you are a teacher, aren't you, gd? Did I get Vandy right?
