South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) came to a close yesterday in Austin. As has been the case since the festival's inception 14 years ago, Nashville's music was well-represented and the music represented Nashville well.
One of the biggest stories for the local music industry at SXSW 2001 was the overwhelmingly positive reception the city's non-country music received.
"Bodies on top of bodies," Ken Coomer, drummer for the rock group Swag, said in describing the crowd at their SXSW show Thursday night at The Continental Club. "I couldn't even get my friends in.
