Southern author at Davis-Kidd

Julia Oliver will be signing her book Music of Falling Water (John F. Blair, $21.95) at 6 p.m. today. In her novel, she writes about three sisters trying to find answers to some important questions about the past and how people are not really as they seem. Oliver is the author of Goodbye to the Buttermilk Sky and a short-story collection titled Seventeen Times as High as the Moon. The book signing is free to the public at Davis-Kidd, 4007 Hillsboro Road.

Fan Fair at the Wildhorse Saloon

There will be a benefit concert at 9 tonight at the Wildhorse Saloon. Musical appearances will be made by Chely Wright, Richard Marx, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Jessica Andrews, Darryl Worley, Nine Days and Ty Herndon. Cover charge will be $15 as proceeds from this event will go to Wright
