The market is currently flooded with blues and jazz artist anthologies, encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference books. Some are definitive, but others range from haphazard to horrible. Unfortunately, most of the truly vital texts are extremely costly volumes designed more for universities and academicians than consumers.
