Rascal Flatts, one of country music’s hottest ticket sellers, will kick off a brand new tour on June 5 in St. Louis, it was announced Tuesday.
The “Rascal Flatts American Living Unstoppable Tour” sponsored by JCPenney with associate sponsor Hershey’s will include Darius Rucker, who's reignited his career after much success with his old band, Hootie & The Blowfish.
“We are very blessed to see familiar faces in the audience in most cities we play on tour,” says Flatts' Jay DeMarcus. “We know in this economy Americans want the most for their money and we hope that we offer some stress relief and a fun night out.”
This year’s tour includes two stadium shows. The first will be held at Wrigley Field in Chicago on July 18 — the first country music concert to be held on site. Rucker plus Vince Gill will be the special guests for this show. The second stadium concert will take place in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio on Aug. 9.
No Tennessee dates were announced.
Last week, Rascal Flatts placed their fourth consecutive studio album atop the Top 200 chart, with the release of 'Unstoppable' with sales of 351,000 albums. It also became the biggest country release of 2009 and the best in country first week sales since November 2008. Since they launched their career in 2000, they have sold nearly 20 million albums, scored 10 #1 singles and 18 Top 10 hits and are the reigning AMA, CMT, PCA, ACM and CMA Vocal Group of The Year.
