OWINGS MILL, Md. – Marina Alex made bogey on her final two holes and shot a 7-over (79) in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship on Tuesday.
Alex, a Vanderbilt freshman, was tied for 31st among the early finishers.
She started on the 10th hole and opened with three straight pars. She answered her first bogey (No. 13) with a birdie on the 14th but then played the next four holes in 4-over, capped by a double bogey at No. 18.
She started her back nine with six pars in seven holes before her bogey-bogey finish.
