Bennett completes workout for Bucs

Former Titans receiver Drew Bennett finished his workout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday and will wait to see what his future will be.

Bennett, who had his best seasons in Tennessee from 2001-06, was released by the St. Louis Rams in February and visited the Titans last month, passing a physical. The Titans could still sign a veteran receiver before training camp begins to compete for a backup role.

First, however, they appear to want to monitor the progress of youngsters like rookies Kenny Britt and Dominique Edison, as well as Lavelle Hawkins and Chris Davis before deciding whether to add a veteran like Bennett in time for training camp.

Bennett has also worked out for Atlanta and Cleveland this off-season.

Go ahead and sign him now, His experience and maturity will be good for our team, whether he ever plays a down or not. Drew's improbable rise to sucess in the NFL is a wonderful athletic story.
