Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth have been named to the Associated Press’ NFL All-Pro team, which was released Wednesday.
Bironas was the Titans’ most reliable weapon on offense this season, hitting 35 of 39 field goals and earning a Pro Bowl berth in the process.
Ten different times, including in the Titans’ 17-6 playoff loss at San Diego, Bironas made a field goal inside two minutes of the half or the game.
The highlight of Bironas’ season came Oct. 21 when he broke the NFL record for field goals in a game with eight. Bironas’ eighth kick, which came as the final gun sounded, rallied the Titans, who had blown a 25-point lead to a 38-36 victory over the Houston Texans.
Haynesworth, who can be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end unless the Titans reach a new deal or franchise him, was the anchor of a defense that ranked fifth in the NFL.
Haynesworth posted a career-high six sacks and was also named to the Pro Bowl last month.
