Brentwood Academy was the only area school with two Mr. Football finalists, announced Tuesday by the TSSAA, and they are up for the same award.

Woody Baron and Graham Shuler both were named finalists for Division II-AA lineman of the year.

Cornelius Elder (Ensworth), who was a finalist last year, and C.J. Beathard (Battle Ground Academy) are finalists for back of the year in DII-AA.

In Division I, Maplewood’s Ladarius Vanlier, who is closing in on the 2,000 yards rushing, was named a finalist for Class AA back. Brett Dillard of 11-0 Mt. Juliet was named a Class AAA lineman finalist. Landon Foster of Independence High was named one of the three finalists for Kicker of the Year.

Winners will be announced Nov. 28 at a luncheon at Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro.

Good for Brentwood Academy, increased their budget to recruit the North nashville area, and it is really paying off.
