Chow goes to UCLA

It didn’t take long for Norm Chow to land a new job, according to ESPN.com, which cited sources. Chow will be announced today as the new offensive coordinator at UCLA.

The Titans fired Chow, 61, last week, as they opted to rehire Mike Heimerdinger from Denver to take over as offensive coordinator.

Chow spent three seasons in Tennessee, and the offense struggled to produce points, never scoring more than 324 in a season. A week after the Titans managed just two field goals in a 17-6 AFC Wild-Card loss at San Diego, Chow was let go.

By joining the Bruins, Chow returns to college football and returns home to Los Angeles, where his wife and family remained after he took the Titans job. He joins the staff of new Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel, who said even before Chow was let go by the Titans that he would like to have him as his offensive coordinator.

Chow, who coached on the college level for 30-plus years before coming to Tennessee, interviewed for the Bruins head coaching vacancy before Neuheisel was hired.

He is supposed to be one of the best there is but Fisher wanted to run the show.

He should do fine back in the college game, he has succeeded everywhere but here. His problems here might been more to do with FieldGoal Fisher and Wonderlic6, only time will tell.

He gave it his best shot. Not the only college coach to flounder in the NFL.Since he was from USC, this has to be bittersweet...Best of luck, Norm. At least the weather will be better in California!

CB that fits in with what was said about Fisher the other night. He dosn't play to win he plays not to lose.

Good for him. Glad he landed on his feet so quickly. Just hope Neuheisel treats him with more respect than Fisher did. From what I read about him, not so sure.

Fisher hater, tell me how he did not respect Chow. He gave Chow three years but the offense was not getting better in fact it got worse. Those who say Fisher did not let Chow run the offense, only say that because you don't like Fisher, you have nothing to back it up. And when idgaf agrees with you, you know you aren't right. There were a lot of teams hoping Mr Adams would not extend Fisher's contract, but he is a smart man and kept one of the best coaches in the league. Good luck Norm, but I think Dinger will be much more creative.

"Mr Adams"?

Do you have a problem with that, id?

I think the O will struggle some next year getting used to a new coach and new players, not a big surprise there. If it's still struggling in years 2-3, then we will know the Titans blew it with Wonderlic6 and FieldGoal Fisher has to find another QB.
