A dislocated finger briefly derailed Dwight Dasher’s return from a four-game suspension but MTSU’s senior quarterback still provided the bulk of his team’s offense in a 42-13 loss to Troy on Tuesday in a nationally televised contest.

Dasher scored both of the Blue Raiders’ touchdowns – the first after they fell behind 21-0 and the second, with 4:27 to play in the contest, after the deficit had grown to 28 points.

The loss was the fifth straight for MTSU (2-3, 1-1) against its chief conference rival. Troy (3-2, 2-0) outgained the Blue Raiders 520-206 and took sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference race.

Dasher was injured on his team’s second possession and missed the next two series’. On the first play without him, Jeff Murphy was sacked and fumbled. Troy recovered and took a 14-0 lead with a 5-yard touchdown pass four plays later.

Dahser returned at the start of the second quarter and played the rest of the way. He completed 22 of 37 passes for 173 yards with one interception. He also rushed for a team-high 26 yards and both touchdowns on 14 attempts.

What are the principal occupations of MTSU graduates? What percentage of undergraduates go on to graduate school? Do Wal-Mart and Dollar General send job recruiters to MTSU?

And exactly what does this have to do with a football game? Let me guess. You went to Vandy.
