Staff reports

Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan was suspended for Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series with the Nashville Predators because of his actions in the Ducks’ 5-3 victory in Game 2 on Friday.

Ryan stomped on the foot of defenseman Jonathon Blum as the two battled for the puck with 3:25 to play.

No penalty was called on the play and Blum was not injured.

"The actions by Ryan were both reckless and dangerous," NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell in a release announcing the suspension Saturday. "While it was fortunate there was no injury to Blum on the play, the act of using your skate in this manner is unacceptable."

Ryan, a member of Anaheim’s top line, had two goals in Friday’s contest.

Game 3 is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Bridgestone Arena.
