ESPN will put the basketball rivalry between Vanderbilt and Tennessee – men and women – will be thrust into the national spotlight on Jan. 15, 2011, the network announced Wednesday.

The cable network will bring its College GameDay show to Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville as a lead-in to the Vanderbilt-UT men’s game, which will tip-off at 11 a.m. (CST) and will air live on ESPN. The network also will show the women’s game, also from Memorial Gymnasium, at 7 p.m.

"With the fan passion and dedication for its men's and women's programs, Tennessee was a natural fit to be our doubleheader site," Nick Dawson, director, ESPN programming and acquisitions, said in a release. "We are confident the university and coach (Bruce) Pearl and coach (Pat) Summitt will have the fans fired up and ready to go for GameDay and the national game telecasts."

The complete Commodores’ 2010-11 basketball schedules are expected to be released later this week.
