Middle Tennessee State University’s football game against Mississippi State on Oct. 17 will be broadcast live on ESPNU (Comcast Ch. 272), the Sun Belt Conference announced Monday.
Kickoff will be 11:30 a.m. (CDT) at Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro.
The original start time was 3 p.m. ESPN, however, exercised an option it holds with the Sun Belt Conference, which allows it to select Sun Belt-controlled games for broadcast.
"This is a wonderful statement for our program when ESPN exercises its option at this late date,” MTSU director of athletics Chris Massaro said in a release from the university. “I am excited to see all the breakfast tailgaters fixing their pancakes and eggs prior to the game.”
It will be the 11th national television broadcast in MTSU football history and the ninth under current head coach Rick Stockstill.
The Blue Raiders (3-1, 1-0 in SBC) will face Troy (2-2, 1-0), 7 p.m. Tuesday in a key Sun Belt contest, which will be broadcast live on ESPN2 (Comcast Ch. 29).
