Gators overwhelm Commodores

Quarterback Tim Tebow passed for three touchdowns and ran for two to lead No. 18 Florida to a 49-22 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.

Gators receiver Percy Harvin became the first player in school history to top 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game.

Tebow was 22-of-27 passing for 281 yards and rushed for 36 yards. Harvin rushed 11 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns and caught nine passes for 110 yards.

Florida improved to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in Southeastern Conference play. Vanderbilt fell to 5-4 and 2-4.

The Gators, playing at home for the first time in five weeks, scored touchdowns on five of their first six possessions. They racked up 358 yards of total offense in the first half.

Quarterback Mackenzi Adams completed 16 of 32 passes for 159 yards to lead the Commodore offense.

Vanderbilt returns to action at home Nov. 10 against Kentucky.
