They're lacing up the skates for the semifinal rounds of the Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey high school semifinals.

The top four area seeds have all advanced to the GNASH semis and will be paired in matches set for Wednesday night on the ice at Centennial Sportsplex ice.

Regular season champion Pope JPII (16-1-1) will meet No. 4 seed Centennial (11-4-3) at 6:40 p.m., followed by No. 3 Brentwood High (14-3-1) vs. county rival and No. 2 seed Ravenwood (14-1-3) at 9:40. Winning teams will advance to the championship game Friday at 6:40 p.m. on the A-Game ice in Brentwood.

To get to the semis, JPII beat Franklin 5-1, Centennial edged Mt. Juliet 2-1, Brentwood blanked MBA 3-0, and Ravenwood shut out Wilson Central 3-0 in quarterfinal games last week. In a key consolation game, rivals MBA (9-9-1) and Ryan (7-8-5) will square off Wednesday at 9:40 p.m. at A-Game.

Although his team didn't make the playoffs, Robert Fischman of Station Camp/Hillsboro won the regular season scoring title with 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists).

Robert Honecka of Centennial and Dane Bennett of Brentwood tied for a distant second with 33 points each.

The GNASH Cup Final is set for March 3, with that winner advancing to the Predators Cup state Final Four games March 19 with the finals to follow March 20.

Just letting you know, Station Camp/Hillsboro did indeed make the playoffs. They played MBA in the first round and Mt. Juliet in the second round. Unfortunately they were beaten in both games.
