Vanderbilt and the University of Tennessee won’t be the only college basketball games on the radio dial this season.
Lipscomb University announced Wednesday an agreement with 102.5 The Game to broadcast more than 20 of the Bisons’ men’s basketball games during the 2011-12 campaign.
The station, which will also carry Nashville Predators and Alabama football games, switched from a music to sports format last week. Its signal extends to parts of southern Kentucky, including Murray and Bowling Green, and is expected to reach homes of more than two-thirds of Lipscomb alumni.
“We are excited to enter into a radio partnership with 102.5 The Game to broadcast our games throughout Middle Tennessee,” Lipscomb athletics director Philip Hutcheson said. "I'm glad that we can partner with the area's newest sports station in returning Bisons basketball to the airwaves for the first time in several years.”
Hutcheson also announced Jackson National Life Insurance Company, which recently relocated its headquarters to Franklin and created more than 750 jobs, will be the presenting sponsor of the Lipscomb Sports Network.
Jonathan Seamon will return for the play-by-play broadcast of all the men’s games. Lipscomb’s first regular-season game is on Friday, Nov. 11, against Fort Valley State at Allen Arena.
