CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Earl Clark scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, as the third-seeded Louisville Cardinals ended Tennessee's season, 79-60, in an East Regional semifinal on Thursday.

Chris Lofton scored a team-best 15 points in his final game as a Vol. Fellow Vol senior JaJuan Smith finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Tyler Smith had 11 points for the Volunteers, who finished 31-5 this season.

Andre McGee and Jerry Smith added 13 points each and Terrence Williams scored 12 points for the Cardinals (27-8), who will play top-seeded North Carolina in the East Regional final on Saturday.

"We struggled all night long, and Louisville deserves a great deal of credit for that," said Volunteers head coach Bruce Pearl. "I've been coaching a long time, and never has the tempo of the game been dictated so much by the opponent."

Poor Jethro nation. Well now they can get that tooth fixed.

Gdiafante, how far did your team go in the NCAA?

By: gdiafante on 12/31/69 at 7:00

They're still playing, I'm partial to Louisville. :)

Of course you are.

Nice try, but I've been a Pitino fan since the mid '80's. In case you didn't know, he coached Providence then. Keep trying and for god sake, brush your tooth!

Or whoever is playing UT, right?

By: gdiafante on 12/31/69 at 7:00

No, I don't care who UT plays, unless it's Vandy. In fact, I don't care about UT, but I feel for the fan base this morning. They really thought they had a winner.

Don't pile on the Jethro Nation this morning. After running their mouths about their heralded team for the past five months, they thought they actually had a chance to be a Final Four team. Shhhhhh. Don't tell them that they are insane.

You Kentucky and Vanderbilt fans were quiet these last seven days? What's your excuse, waiting for football season? Ha ha.
