Middle Tennessee State University announced Monday that its ticket office will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday in order to meet increased demand for Thursday’s season-opener against Minnesota.
Additionally, all stadium ticket booths will open 10 a.m. Thursday in an attempt to alleviate lines of those who want to purchase seats.
"Ticket sales have picked up dramatically since school started, and the phone lines have been busy all day," ticket manager Marco Born said in a release Monday. "We felt that we needed to expand our hours to make sure that everyone that wanted to come to the game got the opportunity to buy a ticket."
Six of the 10 largest crowds in Floyd Stadium history have come in the past three seasons, including the largest ever – 28,105 for a game against Memphis on Sept. 12, 2009.
None of those crowds were for a game against a team from the Big Ten, the conference in which Minnesota plays.
The game, which will be broadcast by ESPNU, will be the first meeting ever between the Blue Raiders and the Golden Gophers.
