The TSSAA Board of Control announced Monday that the city of Murfreesboro will keep the Spring Fling state championships for three more years, with the city getting the event through 2012.

Murfreesboro has been site of the annual Spring Fling (which hosts state finals in baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and track and field) for the past four years after it moved there from Memphis in 2006.

The Rutherford County city won out over other bids submitted by Chattanooga and Knoxville. Earlier, Murfreesboro lost the state championship football games to Cookeville and Tennessee Tech, starting this year.
