The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl and the Atlantic Coast Conference agreed on a four-year extension of their partnership, which brings an ACC team to Nashville to face a Southeastern Conference opponent.

The extension covers the 2010-2013 seasons and was one of eight partnerships the ACC announced Thursday.

The Music City Bowl will have the sixth choice of ACC teams. Preceding it will be the Orange Bowl (or a BCS contest), the Chik-fil-A, Champs Sports, Brut Sun and Meineke Car Care Bowls.

The ACC began its formal arrangement with the Music City Bowl in 2006 but has had a team compete in the game every year since 2005.

This year’s game will take place 7:30 p.m. (CST), Dec. 27 at LP Field. The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN.

The sixth Choice for the ACC is like High School. This bowl is not going to mean anything.
