The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Presented By Bridgestone announced Friday that this year's annual game will be on New Year's Eve at 3 p.m. at LP Field.

It's the first time the game will be played on New Year's Eve. It will again be televised by ESPN and will match a Southeastern Conference school against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent.

"Coming off a record sell out crowd of over 68,000 for the 2006 Bowl, college football fans across Middle Tennessee are already anticipating this year's game," Bowl Chairman Aubrey Harwell said. "This afternoon time slot is the perfect way to ring in the New Year as tens of thousands of visitors will be able to travel to Nashville over the extended New Year's weekend and take advantage of all the Bowl festivities, as well as everything else that Nashville has to offer."

Renewal letters will be mailed in June to those who purchased tickets to last year's game. Tickets will go on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster in September.

"It's great to have them as part of our New Year
