Trevecca Nazarene senior Michael France was named the National Christian College Athletic Association’s (NCCAA) Division I men’s basketball player of the year.
France, a 6-foot-2 swingman out of Shelbyville Central High, also earned All-American accolades from the NCCAA, an organization that promotes intercollegiate athletics with a Christian perspective. Trevecca is competing it its postseason tournaments as it transitions from NAIA to NCAA Division II.
France averaged 20.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals last season as the Trojans went 22-12 and won the fifth-place game of the NCCAA Tournament against The Master’s (Calif.) College.
He finished fifth all-time in scoring, totaling 2,019 points in his career.
