The Nashville Predators bolstered their organizational depth on defense Friday when they signed defenseman Brett Palin.

A 26-year-old who played junior hockey with Nashville captain Shea Weber, Palin has spent the last five seasons with the Calgary Flames’ American Hockey League affiliate.

He scored six goals and added 37 assists in 287 career AHL contests. Five of his goals came in 2008-09, when he was named an AHL All-Star. He also averaged close to one penalty minute per game.

Pailin will earn $105,000 playing with the Milwaukee Admirals and will earn an NHL salary of $550,000 if the plays with the Predators.
