Triston Grant, who led the Milwaukee Admirals with 153 penalty minutes in 2008-09, agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators.

It is a two-way deal, which will pay Grant, 25, $500,000 if he is in the NHL and $60,000 if he is in the American Hockey League. He also will receive a $30,000 signing bonus.

The 6-fot-1, 210-pound forward had three goals and eight assists in 55 games for Nashville’s AHL affiliate last season. He also had a plus-11 rating, which made him one of four AHL players with at least 150 penalty minutes and a rating of plus-10 or better.

Originally a ninth-round draft pick by Philadelphia (286th overall) in 2004, Grant has played four full seasons in the AHL and has averaged 181.5 penalty minutes. He also hs appeared in eight NHL contests – all with Philadelphia during the 2006-07 season.

Nashville acquired him and a seventh-round selection in this year’s draft from the Flyers last June for defense prospect Janne Niskala.
