The Nashville Predators announced today that forward Scott Walker will undergo surgery for a sports hernia Thursday in St. Louis, Mo.

Walker is expected to be out for eight-to-10 weeks. The 11-year veteran has missed the past six games for the Preds, who are currently in the throes of a five-game losing streak.

At the recommendation of Dr. Michael J. Pagnani, the Predators head team physician, the surgery will be performed by Dr. Michael Brunt.

The Predators host Edmonton tonight at 7 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
