HOUSTON — The Tennessee Titans are playing musical returners again, having declared running back Alvin Pearman inactive for tonight’s game against the Houston Texans.

That means the punt return job likely will be handled by Kevin Kaesviharn who was out all week from practice tending to personal matters, and that safety Michael Griffin is likely to handle kickoffs.

Two other key Titans are also inactive, as linebacker David Thornton (hip) and defensive tackle Jason Jones (shoulder) are both out. Rookie Gerald McRath will start at linebacker, and rookie Sen’Derrick Marks and veteran Kevin Vickerson will be the backup tackles.

Other inactives include receiver Justin Gage, linebacker Colin Allred, tackle Troy Kropog and defensive end Jevon Kearse.

Texans inactives are receiver Jacoby Jones, cornerback Antwaun Molden, cornerback Fred Bennett, safety Dominique Barber, guard Tutan Reyes, defensive end Tim Jamison and defensive tackle Frank Okam. Dan Orlovsky is the third quarterback.
